There will soon be yet another release of the Air Jordan 1 High for those who simply cannot get enough of them.

Today, Sneakerheadz shared retail images of the Jordan 1 High in preschool sizing along with early information on the next hue. The design resembles the pair from the "New Beginnings" pack from last year in that it has a two-tone top made of white and red, but this time, the ankle collar and the Wings emblem have grey accents. The shoe also has a hairy suede Swoosh on the sides, unlike typical Jordan 1 releases. A midsole in the shade of sail and an outsole in red complete the appearance.

This Air Jordan 1 High will be launched on February 4, 2022, according to @zSneakerheadz. Follow Sole Collector for updates over the next few months.

UPDATE (01/05): You can now have a closer look at the "Chenille" Air Jordan 1 thanks to PVAsneakers on Instagram. The new colorway will reportedly enter stores in April, however the brand has not yet provided an official release date.

UPDATE (07/02): Nike has released an official image of the "Chenille" Air Jordan 1 High. The release of the sneaker has not yet been officially confirmed, but Sole Collector will provide formal updates soon.

You caught yourself blushing ever so slightly, but quickly managed to stop and stay professional. «Sure, I’d enjoy that,» you replied with a cheesy grin. You both agreed to meet the next day for lunch at a coffee shop to chill out and build his brand new LEGO set together. «By the way, I’m Y/N», you said, remembering you had completely forgotten to introduce yourself. «I’m Seonghwa,» he replied. He then gave you a cheeky smile, before he gave you a kind nod and an energetic wave as he headed out the door, letting you handle your other customers. The rest of your shift flew by while thinking of your encounter with Seonghwa, and you went to bed as excited as you’ve ever been.

After your first hangout building LEGO, you quickly planned to meet again later that week. I usually post Lolibrary content on the site's facebook page, and not my personal Tumblr, but this is a little more personal. This is my 5,000th Lolibrary entry. Lolibrary celebrated it's 13th birthday last month, and as of right this second we have 84,951 published entries.

I did the math a couple days ago for a post on the FB or twitter, and for lolibrary as a whole, it comes out to something wild like 17 entries per day. And that is 'counting' the fairly long time around 2018 when we couldn't make entries at all.

I'm not the biggest contributor to lolibrary. That is Onlyeasy, who entered more than 1/5th of the content on lolibrary and recently has retired from being an active senior lolibrarian. Followed by our late founder, Amethystcitrine. Amy entered more than 1/10th of the content currently on lolibrary. Lately, I was thinking 'I should record some videos on how to add measurements' because that seems to trip up a lot of new contributors. And, I keep thinking about the videos she made, which makes me really miss being able to talk to her about lolibrary.

The 3rd biggest contributor to lolibrary is theladymienshao (9.22%) who currently enters Baby/Pirates, and then Sucre-Dolls (6.94%) who enters Angelic Pretty. I am so impressed by the constant updates of the new items, because I've never been able to do that.

The person with the next most entries is azuki-mikan (pita-tenshi), again, absolutely fantastic, azuki-mikan has made 7.3% of the entries.

And then me, I'm 6th with 5.88% of the entries. So, I'm definitely not the most active when it comes to entering items. I do some other things with lolibrary, like I make most of the Facebook and Twitter posts (which is why they are very inconsistent). I also count up when an indie brand goes over the minimum threshold for tag, and the minimum threshold for being promoted to a brand, and then recently I've been manually moving the entries across for those too. I also did a lot of the manual checking on the shoe entries when we imported those in recently, and like all the other senior lolibrarians who are active, I do some of the pending submission approvals. And of course, I do some degree of book research & scanning with my magazine & catalog collection, some degree of item identification, etc. I also spend a lot of my time adding images to existing partial listings to flesh them out. But there are other people who do other tasks that aren't entering items too. Like Sage-Blossom who does a ton of corrections & tag clean up work, for example. And our development team who do the coding, and one of our other admins who handles all of the legal and financial pieces so we can pay our bills and maintain our status as a non-profit. And then there are a lot more very active contributors too! I think one of my favorite things about lolibrary is that it is a community project and it is made up of lots of people doing lots of different things. I think also that's one of the reasons that lolibrary has had the longevity it has had. And through it, I've met a lot of wonderful people who I absolutely think the world of. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm very glad that lolibrary exists, and I hope it continues on for many years to come. <3

7 How would they react to a theme park? Do they like rollercoasters? The games? The food? The other rides? She LOVES them. So so much. No so much rollercoasters or fast rides, maybe the smallest one and while Dan is holding her hand. But she loves all the rest. Her times at Disney with Dan and his family or even with Charlie, Dan and Blake are some of her happiest days.

11 Do they play any sports? If so, which ones? How do they feel about sports in general? Do they like to watch any? She’s the least sporty human being ever. She likes football, she’s a Liverpool fan, but then that’s it. She got stuck into F1 because of her boys but she had no idea about it before she met Blake.

17 How do they feel about Halloween and how do they celebrate it? She always thought it was fun, especially the decorations, but she never really celebrated it until Dan. Its really fun to do customs and stuff with him around, so she ended up loving it. It just got even better when they had kids.

37 How do they feel about the rain? What do they do when it’s raining? She loves the rain. There’s something about the smell when it rains that gives her peace. The sound also makes her sleep better. The one time she hates rain is when Dan has to race in the rain. If she normally gets nervous in dry races it’s just way worse in rainy ones. Also rainy days at home with Dan are everything to her. Its cuddles under a blanket while watching a movie or just having some slow sex or talking. She loves the sun, but the rain is one of the thing she misses the most while living in Perth.

44 What’s their favorite possession of theirs and why? Its the first pair of Vans Dan got her. They were just seeing each other, Em randomly mentioned she needed to go buy new shoes because hers were falling apart. Before she could go to Primark Dan showed up with a brand new pair of purple Vans that Em’s bank account couldn’t really afford. For Dan it was really no big deal, but for her it meant everything. After that its the Captain Croc plushie Dan got her. Then her collection of helmets.

49 How clingy are they? What do they act like? When she’s in public she’s the most normal human being, but give her an empty room with Dan for two seconds and she’s the clingiest human being ever existed. Hanging from his neck is probably one of her favourite things in the world, right after having his arms all around her.

52 On an average day, what can be found in their pockets? Girl pockets are Too Small so its just her phone. But she has everything in her bag, there’s always her wallet, her laptop, earplugs, her Beats, some stuff to fix her makeup if needed, snacks for Dan, some of her pills, London the bear, and her paddock pass and her passport.

56 What are some pet names they would use for their significant other? How do they feel about pet names in general? She went from no pet names to so many its irrational and she loves it. It makes her happy. And her go to names with Dan are Baby and Love.

59 How do they feel about cuddling/snuggling? She’s the cuddles queen. She loves it. She would never say no to a five minutes snuggle with her boy. It brings her happiness and makes her feel safe.

65 What are their thoughts/relationship with death? She’s terrified. The only deaths she really had to face was a family members when she was too young to really remember. But then she has to somehow face it every weekend. The man she loves races F1 cars, she faces losing the love of her life literally half of the weekends every year, so it terrifies her. She tries to not think about it much, but its one of her biggest nightmares. More than once Dan has had to wake her up from her sleep because of her nightmares. With time the most scary part it’s something suddenly happening to her or her babies. Because if it does she won’t know, but what would happen to her family? She’s a protector and if she’s not around who will protect her babies if she can’t do it? Who’s gonna protect Dan? And if something happens to her family who is she gonna be able to keep going?

✰What is Y2k Fashion? ✰

Fashion has always worked in cycles, what was popular 50 - 40 years ago will suddenly become popular again. Recently this turnover cycle in trends has become smaller and smaller. Trends are now repeating on a 20-year loop (Friedman, 2022), sometimes in an even shorter period. Thanks to the fashion community on Tik Tok, Y2k inspired fashion has had a resurgence over the past couple of years. 2021 saw this style become the biggest trend (Kim, 2021) of the year. So many staples of the era such as low rise pants, denim, pastels, and everything bedazzled have made a re-appearance into the fashion world, all of which were all popular in early 2000s fashion style. Brittany and Justin’s double denim look is a great example of the wild fashion of the time.

Gen Z are the ones who have really run with the aesthetic and re-popularised it. Many celebrities have also adopted the aesthetic into their own personal style. The leading celebrities being Olivia Rodrigo and Dua Lipa. I think there is a real sense of nostalgia within this generation for the aesthetic. Gen Z long for the fun fashion of the past, that was colourful and quirky. Fashion through out the late 2010’s was all about neutrals and a clean and simple aesthetic,  the Y2k aesthetic allowed for a more playful and fun fashion style.

Y2k style dominated the spring 2022 fashion collections from a lot of different fashion houses. Versace’s spring 2022 (Phelps, 2021) collection heavily reflected the Y2k aesthetic with neon prints, glitter and glam. Dua Lipa also made her debut in the modelling world in this show. As an icon of the Y2k resurgence I felt it was a perfect fit to have her walk the show. 

Gen Z is leading the resurgence and a lot of their influences come from their childhood idols / toys / tv. Bratz and Barbies have been a huge inspiration point, with the chunky, platform heel (Ying Hyde, 2022)or boot coming into trend. This references the Bratz shoes. Fashion should be something that is fun and playful and the reference to childhood toys accomplishes this.

I think that the Y2k fashion resurgence is a fun and playful way for fashion to gain some more personality again. Fashion over the past few years became minimal, leaning towards a business casual style. During the pandemic Gen Z reached back to their childhood for fashion inspiration. I think that fashion should be an expression of yourself and if you want to wear fun and bright colours and put some wacky hair clips in your hair then why not! Y2k fashion also isn’t just for Gen Z anyone should be able to dress in any aesthetic that they feel represents them!

How Spider-Man 2's Miles Morales Represents Community, Black Culture, And Me

This article contains spoilers for the Harlem Cultural Museum side quest in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Miles Morales is a comic book character created to represent people of color.

Leading up to the 2008 election, which resulted in the United States’ first African American president, Barack Obama, Marvel wanted to “take a good look” at one of their icons to reimagine as African American. A few years later, when an internet campaign pushed Community actor Donald Glover to play Spider-Man, the icon was chosen, and writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli created Miles. Every iteration of the character continues this legacy of representation, and Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2 is no different. You can read our full review of the game here, but I want to focus on one specific part: a series of jazz-themed side quests.

Up in Harlem, criminal forces are conspiring to halt the opening of the Harlem Cultural Museum. Curator Angela has assembled an amazing collection of jazz memorabilia, but on the day a big donor comes to pledge his funds, the building is raided, and the instruments are stolen. Relative to the game’s main story, which has players battling huge villains and tearing up the city in the process, the stakes of this mission are low – but still high enough to warrant Spider-Man’s help.

Miles is invested not just because his mom Rio is the one asking him for help but because he cares about his community, and as an aspiring musician himself, he’s curious about the history, too. Throughout each quest, Miles hunts down the instruments, meeting up with people in the neighborhood along the way. When he retrieves Charlie Parker’s saxophone, he gets a lesson about the connections between jazz and hip hop (Miles’ music of choice) from an older Black man, enhancing Miles’ understanding of the importance of his mission. And since his dad was a Parker fan, his personal motivation is boosted, too.

I’m not interested in spoiling the ending of this quest, except to say that, unlike most quests in the Spider-Man games, it’s not done to set up a supervillain cameo. The scale is as small as the first quest implies, and that’s a relief. It feels more personal that way.
