tbh this should go without saying but just a casual reminder that native people, like any minority, do not all look and think the same, and they are certainly not a monolith.

Natives can have any skin color, whether that’s white passing, light skinned, tan skin, brown skin and dark skin, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can have any natural eye color, be it brown, amber, blue, green or otherwise, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can have any hair color, be it brown, black, blonde or red, or dyed any other unnatural hair color and hair texture, be it straight, wavy or curly, and any hairstyle, be it long, medium, short, traditional braids, pixie cuts, dyed bobs, blunt bangs, shaved heads, undercuts, fauxhawks, etc. and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can follow any religion and/or spirituality, there are Native people who follow their tribe’s traditional beliefs and nothing else, there’s also plenty of Native Christians, but Natives can also be Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Satanist, Shintoist, Kemeticist, Wiccan, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Pagan, animist, Atheist, Agnostic, etc. and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be any gender, whether that’s male, female, both or neither, or Two Spirit, their tribe’s own specific names for those outside of the “gender binary”, or any other genders in Western terminology like trans, non-binary, genderfluid or agender, among others, if they so wish to use those terms, or mix them up, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be any romantic and sexual orientation, whether that’s straight, gay, lesbian, bi, pan, poly, aro, ace, queer, etc. etc. and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be mixed with any race or ethnic group such as white passing Natives / Metis, Black / African Diaspora Natives, Central Asian Natives, East Asian Natives, East African Natives, Central African Natives, West African Natives, Southern African Natives, North African Natives, Mestizo Natives, Latinx Natives, Central American Natives, South American Natives, Caribbean Natives, Alaskan Natives, Greenlander Natives, Australian Natives, Southeast Asian Natives, South Asian Natives, Middle Eastern Natives, or indigenous in other ways too such as more than one Native ethnicity, Polynesian Natives, Inupiaq Natives, Inuit Natives, Micronesian Natives, Melanesian Natives, Eurasian Natives and Natives who have multiple ethnicities, who’re the children of interracial couples with mixed race parents ... and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be in any social class, whether that’s lower class, middle class or upper class and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be in any subculture, whether that’s anime, goth, punk, scene, lolita, grunge, or otherwise, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can listen to any music genre, whether that’s their own tribe’s traditional music, country, rock, punk, hip hop, rap, etc. and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be born on a reservation, in a small town, in a suburb or in a big city, or even outside of their home country, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be knowledgeable in their tribe’s culture/heritage, still reconnecting to it, or disconnected from it for many reasons, and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

Natives can be neurodivergent and/or disabled and that doesn’t make them any less Native.

There’s no one “Native look” and that Natives can dress however they want, wear their hair however they want, etc. etc. - one’s clothes aren’t what makes someone Native, one’s hair isn’t what makes someone Native, one’s coloration isn’t what makes someone Native and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, it’s the connection and willingness to learn that matters.

There’s literally no reason why y’all can’t write modern Natives.

my thoughts: this is a one-shot book (no cohesive storyline unless chosen) but its so good. so good. i thought shigaraki, dabi and all might in one book was interesting but never the less, super good! i never was interested in the mute concept but its written good? (but thinking about it all the other mute!reader fics are good but they wont nsfw so it didnt interest me-) furthermore, its so good. so pure. so hot. 11/10 would recommend.

Night do u ever get tired of other dc fans or has there be fans that have put you off being part of the fandom?x

LOL. I am constantly tired of DC fans and like, y’know, DC in general. XD

No but seriously, it’s exhausting sometimes cos sometimes it isn’t enough that other people online enjoy the same fandom as in... sometimes, you might share that similarity but the rest of them just... clashes with your own personality.

I personally love being friends with fandom peeps who are chill af and are just here for the enjoyment of the fandom and the ships and their characters. I don’t like people who start unnecessary drama or think they’re ‘woke’ for being dicks to others in the fandom. I just don’t care for any of that mess. I am in this fandom and have been in fandom for the better part of like 10 years and I am purely in it for the dickkory content and starfire content (in all of their variations. And I mean all.) like that is what I am here for. I log onto tumblr to see fics and art and content of my favourite space princess and my otp.

I am not here for the bs lmao.

There have been fans of certain characters in fandom that have steered me from stanning said character. Like, I won’t name but there is a character who gets a fuck load of love and I’m like great, awesome. But, a lot of their fans are like... oof. No thanks. So, y’know, I do the adult thing in that situation and just avoid that tag and that character content cos like I’m just not here for that. XD

I’ve had my share of people who try to ‘intimidate’ me and make me feel bad for my opinions about fandom over the years. Like, I’m hardly some newbie about to scare easily, ngl. I hate people that do that and I really don’t care for gatekeeper type of fans who try and tell you exactly how you should be enjoying fandom. Like, nah fam. Not on my watch. Fuck off with that bullshit. XD

There has never been anyone who has forced me out of fandom or anything like that tho, no. Like I said, there has been drama and fallout through the years within fandom and I’ve not necessarily been a saint in some of the earlier stuff but I feel like I’m grown enough now that I’m not about to cry and run off the site or the fandom just cos someone said I shouldn’t like something or anything like that.

Luckily, I’ve always had quite chilled fandom friends and a solid lil circle of pals who aren’t some crazy stans or these asshole ones who try to make others feel bad just for an opinion they dont agree with. That’s helped to stay balanced when some fans have been... intense to say the least.

But, nah. I’m here and I’ve laid my roots. I’m not gonna be budging for no bully or fans. None have reached that level to the point I have felt I need to get away from fandom.

There have been times I need to come away from Tumblr as a whole but not like the fandom specifically. Otherwise, if I have come across problematic fans or posts, I either block people to not see their stuff and avoid having those things I don’t like appearing on my dash or I just scroll past and don’t interact with posts that I disagree with.

Some fans still find that super hard and it’s like lmao why? It is the easiest thing in the world to just scroll past or block, if you disagree with something or someone. I mean, unless people are outwardly stating shit that is genuinely bad and it’s not a case of “This is my opinion” like the kind of stuff that is a bit more... political I wanna say?

I hope that makes sense. The shit that isnt up for discussion type of deal.

But anyway, I always end up ranting with these kinds of questions. No, I haven’t dealt with anyone who has put me off being in fandom since I just deal with them straight away if I don’t like seeing their content in the tags or on my dash XD.

a little of both unfortunately :/ i think i know most of them but i dont think i could match all their names to their faces. and again, like, this is probably because i havent looked much into them beyond the handful of music videos. i really like Ice Chu and Not That Type and i think Chococo and A Girl Like Me are pretty good, but I’m just not as into Gugudan overall as a complete thing start-to-finish as other groups. I like them more than I like WJSN at the moment (tho im feeling that start to change, i might start taking WJSN a lot more seriously lol i can feel myself maybe becoming a real fan), and while I can probably list all 13 WJSN members off the top of my head, I definitely couldnt match them all to their faces lol. that has more to do with me just seeing a lot more WJSN content on my dash than Gugudan content though, cause WJSN is a lot more active than Gugudan (if ggd doesnt have a comeback before 2019 is over… i’m gonna legit cry i would feel so bad for them). i just see WJSN’s members names written out more often i guess.

still though, lemme try to name the 8 (9) gugudan members off the top of my head, without looking up a list

mina, sejeong, nayoung, hyeyeon, sally…. uhhh… mimi? the one with an h sounds like hani doesnt it? hana? that’s 7… fuck… one of them just had a birthday and it’s like…. hye-something? hyo-something? or am i thinking of hana/hani?

fuck i just looked it up, i forgot soyee and the one i was thinking of is haebin.

like, don’t take this the wrong way, none of what i’m saying is out of any sort of dislike for them lol. it’s just like… i’m a fan of some of their songs, sure, but not *enough* of a fan to watch all their appearances on shows and such, or reality shows if they have any, that kind of thing. im a fan of a ton of groups, and theres only so much time lol. and like, you know, i’ll probably keep accumulating knowledge about them and i’ll probably look back on this and laugh at myself, but you know, you dont know everything about every group you like haha. i can only name two members of Apink and like one or two members of Oh My Girl and Pristin and Girls Generation as well, cause like i just haven’t dived deeper into those groups. i like G Idle, but tbh i get everyone who isnt Soyeon and Yuqi confused. Nature? i dont really know any of them by face. but like, i didnt know every Loona member at first haha, and i didnt know every Fromis 9 member until a couple months after i started liking them (cause i dived deeper and fell way harder for them than i did initially, lol).

i’m really new to kpop. i don’t remember the exact date, but i got into it like a week or two before Loona’s Butterfly came out. my first kpop song was Hi High, but i first heard it in late January of this year. with that in mind, the knowledge ive managed to accumulate about like 15+ groups is kind of amazing lmao, how the hell do i fit all that shit up there… is this why my memory is so bad in my day to day life? maybe lol

oh oh oh i was gonna end it there, but i forgot my point starting out, like to answer your question it was a little of both. i just explained the not-knowing thing, but also yes it was to prove a point too. in so many gugudan videos… they really focus on Sejeong, Mina, and Nayoung, such that someone like me who didnt even know what IOI was when i first watched a gugudan video, only remembered those three. well, okay, actually the first one i saw was Not That Type and Mina doesnt actually do that much in that song, but like you know in all the other songs she’s a heavy focus. that’s why Jellyfish made Gugudan SeMiNa, you know? sigh…. and like unfortunately there’s really not a ton of difference between Gugudan SeMiNa and regular Gugudan. like that’s something i wanna make sure i get across, haha, i WANT to know all the members, i WANT them all to stand out. i dont like that i dont know them all, i wish i did. i could make the effort to learn them, sure, but with some groups like Loona and Dreamcatcher, you don’t have to put in any effort of your own because they do such a good job of familiarizing you with the members just in the music videos alone, albeit in different ways haha.
