how are my childhood photos not a telling sign for my mother that i was always unhappy as a child. all of them, the only expressions i have are >:( :( or simply :| she just sent me one from when i was little (5-6ish) where i'm in a dress (that she'd forced me into. wanted be a boy. she hated that) on santa's lap (i hated that. still had to do it. every year) and she's laughing about it like "lol you always look so mad in these pictures! you were so silly!" like no. i hated the fact that i was alive and there's a ton of photographic evidence. i wasn't silly. i was unhappy but had nobody to care enough to notice.

dunmeri seafaring traditions
with one of the longest coastlines in tamriel, the fishing and maritime industries are integral to morrowind’s economy and culture. the ocean, however, is a realm full of portent and danger to the dunmer, in a way beyond the mundane sensibilities of any other people. drowning or otherwise dying at sea is the worst death imaginable. heavy and waterlogged instead of cremated to light ash, sinking irretrievably to the depths instead of floating upon the breeze, a watery demise mocks a dunmer’s dignity and personhood, and rends them from their family forever. the ocean is the world’s largest cardruhn: teeming with lost spirits whose only waiting door is the cold current.
dunmeri fishermen and sailors take extensive precautions to avoid disaster. propitiation is made to the sea through ritual prayer before setting sail, and a wealth of apotropaic objects and personal good luck charms are taken aboard. many dunmer ornament their boats with symbols designed to frighten away vengeful spirits, or soothe them into gentle waves. cargo is never thrown overboard unless absolutely necessary, as dunmer respect the lonely resting place of drowned ancestors, and fear incurring their wrath by polluting it.
particularly on long voyages, a lantern is lit from the sacred hearth fire of one’s home to keep their house-spirits’ protection close around them. if the flame ever goes out, one’s fate is ill indeed.

that is an amazing addition thank you for sharing :D
i know tes lore says that biracial children are the race of their mother, but i think that's dumb. i mean i get why a human or elf couldn't have a child with a khajiit or argonian, genetically speaking. that's not just interracial, but interspecies. however, those scientists that accidentally made a new fish could be onto something... i'm getting off topic.
Anyways. i know human/mer or mer/mer couples could have biological children that wouldn't just be "race of the mother". so does anyone have biracial characters (player character or not) and would you be willing to tell me about them and which features they received from which parent?

When you get into the deep parts of elder scrolls lore that nobody is meant to touch you learn that Tamriel has a prostitute’s guild.

Play an elf rpg where elves, humans, halflings, orcs and so on are all described as “elvenoids” instead of humanoids

Sup. I'm working on a campaign that has guilds for classes. If each class only has one guild, id say your not copying them. If each class has multiple guilds, individualize their names by making each guild unique. If you have only one thieves guild and it's in a city themed around roses, Name it something like the hidden petals or just the rose's thieves guild. If it's multiple, make each guild a little different and name them after their differences. If one specifically only uses Shivs to kill, call it the golden shivs, etc.
Hope it helps?/gen
it does help! and it also made me remember a thieves guild that i came up with a while back that i can use for this story as well as a few others i was toying with. thank you!

i'm writing a thing that's set in a fantasy world where guilds and groups are common. i want to include guilds for people like mages, fighters, thieves, etc. but i feel like using those names would be too close to tes. maybe i'm just a tes player and am connecting them in my mind? would having these guilds in my world be plagiarism? should i make them different somehow? thoughts?

do you think, if a filled soul gem were to be broken (like smashed on the ground or with a rock), that the soul trapped inside would move on to its intended destination? or would it still go to the soul cairn?
