I don’t understand people who can listen to a friend bare their heart to them about a situation that really hurt them or someone outright abusing them, and then turn around and keep hanging out/being friends with said abuser.

Did your friends’ pain mean nothing to you? Did you just not believe them and humor them in the moment? Why are you compelled to disregard their feelings in this situation?

“But they were nice to ME” isn’t an excuse. We all know how abusers pick targets and how abuse dynamics work. This shit is covert.
