A Goal Three Years In The Making!
After the events in this blog entry, I went to the Jubilife TV Station to receive my daily prizes. When I checked out the TV on the main floor, I was greeted by this program.

Apparently, not giving a Pokémon a nickname seems to be a super cool action, and anyone who does is a complete bonehead. However, I'm not here to mock television personalities. Just recently, I was able to complete the Sinnoh Pokédex. I didn't just see them all, I caught em' all.
Tumblr media
That's right. Every species has been caught, trained to the max for battles, and groomed for contests. It took three years to do it. But to expand my collection and become unstoppable in Pokémon battles, I accomplished the feat I set out to do when I first got this game.
I don't think I want to tackle the National Pokédex since I already completed it in a different game. But with the counter hitting 422 different species, I just might be able to do it someday.

Why would Quick Draw need a dry cleaner? Neither him or Baba Looie wear that much clothing. Is this where he takes his El Kabong gear to get cleaned?

If it did, I'd actively start watching Cartoon Network again. While some of the shows are nice, the channel's identity has changed for the WORST. I admit that I only watch it for Teen Titans GO and Tiny Toons Looniversity. Any other TV viewing needs I have are fulfilled by Boomerang and MeTV.
This reboot would have also looked way better than the actual attempt at a Hong Kong Phooey reboot.

I don't see any emergency here. Although, I could really use some of Melanie's musical prowess to help me get to sleep. It feels like I haven't slept in days, and that violin playing provides the soothing effect I need at night.

This Monday, I was able to return to Pokkén Tournament DX and score a few wins online.
Tumblr media
I've become so good that I'm now able to hit opponents while they're using certain attacks while pulling off some incredible combos. I wish I could show all of you some of my best matches. But I didn't have enough memory in my SD card to record that much. Since I couldn't record anything for multiplayer, I thought it'd be possible to do so for the story mode.
These matches were nothing compared to the ones I normally go through with others. And thanks to my newly acquired skills, I was able to place first in the Blue League.
Tumblr media
There's one more thing I have to take care of before I can get to the next league. But I'll save that for another time. I should get back to Pokémon Violet so I can train harder in real Pokémon battles. (While we're still talking about Pokken Tournament DX, I wish they still held official tournaments for this game. I'd probably do great in one.)

While playing Pokémon Yellow in the Game Boy Tower, I was able to talk to the Pokémon Fan Club President and get Pikachu's picture taken. Even in Pokémon Stadium 2, the Game Boy Printer print-outs still work! (At least most of the time...)
Tumblr media
Pikachu's modern stats beat the ones he had before I was forced to restart the game. His strength even allows him to take down most of the opponents in the Stadium tournaments and the Gym Leader Castle.
Just shows how better I've become as a Trainer in the original series.

After finishing my last class assignment for the week, I browsed the GTS in Pokémon HOME to find a cool Pokémon I could add to my collection to reward myself for the strenuous work I've been putting into school since the past week. That was when I spotted a shiny Zigzagoon for offer. I immediately traded the requested Pokémon for it and was surprised by what I saw on the status screen.
Tumblr media
Apparently, this Zigzagoon was given at many events and through a few demo discs to help people fix a specific glitch in the Ruby and Sapphire versions that prevented berries from growing. I never ran into this glitch since I played Pokémon Leaf Green and Emerald. But I bet there were a lot of people who were glad to plant berries again while having something like this with them. As for what I should do with this Zigzagoon, I'll enter her in a few contests that perfectly encapsulate her bright, orange fur.
My life hasn't been all that great throughout the past week. I've had trouble with my schoolwork and was even forced to stay up for nights on end because of pollution problems. This week, I was finally able to get things back into shape. My grades have improved, I'm getting more sleep, and I'm starting to draw more again while getting serious with my profession. This Zigzagoon was just the reward I needed to show myself that I matter in this world and the things I do shouldn't be taken in vain.

I don't know why, but I just love everything about Melanie. Maybe it's her design or the fact that she's a HUGE classical music buff. (It might be both.) It's always a pleasure to look through all the small pieces that feature her, and I'm looking forward to what the artist does next with the character.

I'd say this is more soothing than creepy. Then again, things that are considered creepy lose their effect on me most of the time.
You'd be surprised by how much fan art exists for this show. (Most of them aren't very appropriate, though. With most of them split between Carmen and another character named Pamela.)
So I made something really creepy…

I still remember seeing the original promo for this show. (I'm glad Boomerang still uses it) From a personal perspective, I think the first season is the best in terms of art and writing. The other seasons are okay, but the quality just isn't as good. I still won't forgive Cartoon Network for shoving shows like this and Bunnicula to Boomerang. Not only did they take away any chances of the programs getting any viewership or success, but they also turned Boomerang into a second CN for the next half a decade.
On a lighter note, the best segments are the Cat and Mouse Detectives and the episodes at Dr. Bigsby's lab. Even though Tom's owners change between segments, there's still consistency between them. The Tom and Jerry Show 2014, despite what most people say, is a pretty good Tom and Jerry iteration for the 2010s. From the way Warner Bros. has used the same animation style for most modern 2D animated media involving the characters, I'd say we'll still feel the effects of this show. (At least for a while...)
The animation is passable, the jokes are effective, and above all else, it graced us with new characters who I wish were utilized more throughout the show's run. Mostly Napoleon and Sabrina.

We can't have a cartoon show without making fun of Canada or French culture. ...wait, this isn't a Canadian animated TV show! I'm still putting this here for the fact that it pokes fun at Canada and France. (At the expense of a character like Fifi La Fume, no less.)

An Internet Revolution!
Tumblr media
Yesterday was the day MEOWCO reached 100,000 site visits.
Tumblr media
The last milestone the website reached was 50,000, and that was last year. I never thought it would reach this number so early in the year. Once it started, I always assumed the hit count wouldn't hit the 100,000 mark until fall. Needless to say, I took this as a sign that people actually care for me and the things that I do in life.
The fact that so many people care about my website shows that personal sites are truly the way of the future and that social media will get you nothing but mockery from elitist punks. Since MEOWCO has finally made it big, I should add some new assets to the site. I think the next milestone will be 200,000 hits. If I'm lucky, it could reach that number by the time December hits.
The only thing I have to celebrate the occasion is a special art piece. If you want to see it for yourself, you should visit my website.
(While you're at it, you should check out the rest of the site to see what it has to offer!)

Showing Love For Machamp
While I was on the Pokémon Daisuki Club, I found this web page for Machop and its evolutions.
While it has some fun exercises and facts regarding Pokémon like Machamp, there's also a manga available for visitors to read.
Tumblr media
With the closure of the Nintendo Network, I might translate this as I fear that similar web pages on the Daisuki Club might get deleted by The Pokémon Company. I'm still busy translating Pokémon Pocket Monsters Ruby - Sapphire. But I could find the time to preserve another interesting piece of Pokémon media.

Why didn't they keep a name like this? It would have done a good job of separating Mario's Tennis from similarly sounding games on other Nintendo platforms.

A Better PC Than Windows
Tumblr media
One of the things I love about the Wii U is how versatile its web browser is. The Wii U browser can visit any website and allows most of those sites' functionalities to work as they would on an average PC. I remember visiting this weblog on the browser and was able to skim through every blog post without issue. The ability to play videos in perfect quality was incredible! It's because of this that I was able to watch episodes of Sherlock Hound and Donkey Kong Country on my Wii U.
When I was still a user of Deviantart, I would use the (kind of flawed) Deviantart Muro tool to create art pieces using the Wii U's GamePad. Most of them were pretty terrible, but I owe that to my art skills at the time and DA Muro's restrictive nature. In fact, it was DA Muro's decline in functionality that stopped me from drawing with it again. Even though my experiences with the program on the Wii U's browser were less than stellar, it still gave me a glimpse into what it would be like to be a professional artist.
For the time being, the Wii U internet browser was an upgrade to what I was used to on the Wii or 3DS. While the Wii could play flash games and the 3DS allows you to download certain images, the Wii U can play videos in perfect quality, display pictures on both the TV and GamePad, visit almost any website while keeping their features intact, utilize message boards, and many more. I often found myself using it more than a computer, as it fit most of my online needs. I still use it to find references for characters or objects while drawing. Over time, however, the quality of the Wii U's browser started to drop.
First, Nintendo removed video playback, and then they removed the ability to play audio. If that wasn't enough, most websites just stopped working properly. Even though I can still visit websites like this weblog, I can't find certain blog posts or use the Guest Archive. I guess Nintendo did this to prepare for the Nintendo Network's shutdown. But even then, there are a few flaws with that.
The Nintendo Switch, despite being the best-selling Nintendo system of all time, doesn't have a web browser. It's ridiculous that Nintendo didn't include a web browser feature with the Switch. Every console before it had one. Even the DS has a cartridge that allows you to browse the internet and visit different websites.
The worst part of this is that the Switch CAN access websites. There's a dedicated app that displays certain web pages whenever I connect to an access point at a public area or play Pokémon Violet. Even if you run internal exploits to use the web tool as an actual browser, there's a high chance your Switch will lose the ability to connect to the internet. The fact that the Wii U, one of Nintendo's lesser consoles, has a functional internet browser while the Nintendo Switch doesn't is baffling. It's almost like they rushed the Switch out just to make people forget about their recent failure.
Even though most people might gloss over it, the Wii U's web browser is an incredible application that allows the console to be used as a semi-personal computer. This blog entry isn't condemning Nintendo for taking internet connectivity from a system like the Wii U, it's to show just how far they dropped the ball with the release of the Switch. While the Switch Lite fixes the bulky nature and unappealing look of the original model, it still can't browse the internet. Whatever the case, the Wii U's browser makes it fun to explore the internet and is accessible to many people. It's just sad that the Switch lacks it and Nintendo is willing to sweep their best features under the rug instead of fine-tuning them for more powerful hardware.

Not The Time To Laze Around!
Tumblr media
After my return to Pokémon Pocket Web Comics, I decided to utilize more ideas I've had for the past few months. This short also allowed me to practice with my new coloring technique for certain digital art pieces. (I'm going to need them pretty soon...) If you want to know why Braixen is angry with Umbreon, read the new Pokémon Pocket Web Comics story on my website!

Pokémon Pocket Monsters Ruby - Sapphire Volume 1 - Chapter 5
Clefairy enters a Pokémon contest to earn the chance to become a television idol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We finally get to our first Pokémon contest! Compared to other Pokémon media, most contests aren't really centered around earning ribbons. If you're a fan of contests, embrace this chapter for as much as you can because they're a rarity in this series. (As well as the rest of the manga...) Sapphire seems more like May in the anime in that Torchic is her partner, and she seems to favor contests over Pokémon battles.
Based on this chapter and some previous ones, Torchic seems to be one of Red's favorite Pokémon. It's too bad Anakubo probably won't give him one.
TRANSLATOR'S NOTES
As stated on the disclaimer page, Sapphire isn't the character's original name. In the original text, the character is named Ruby.
Tumblr media
Similarly to a previous chapter, I thought the original name sounded too masculine. So, I changed it to the feminine-sounding Sapphire while tying them to a similar character from Pokémon Adventures. (A manga most people might be more familiar with)
I also didn't make up the producer's name. Tsuu Kun is a person who actually created the girl groups Morning Musume and Chibimoni (or Minimoni). I guess Anakubo used his likeness to create a celebrity character most people in Japan would recognize. (Or to give the manga some more star power) I'm pretty sure the real Tsuu Kun isn't bald.
Regarding the blank pages before the title cards, I only added them in case someone online stole my translations and uploaded them to a manga website without my permission. If any readers have a problem with these, please inform me through the Submission Box.
