1. Books. Just having them. Love the aesthetic. Very calming to me. But also reading is fun too so it works out :)

2. Being outside. The smells and sounds and sights are (almost) always so beautiful! Any outdoor activity, I fall in love with. (I’m fricken allergic to the gawd damn sun tho so that’s great TwT happy almost summer I hate it here ajdjeiwnsidjdbis)

3. When people remind me they care abt me, unprompted. I really tend to be needy in a sense of reminders so when people lmk randomly makes me believe it even more and feel special and important :3

4. When my dog gets excited to see me and flops into my lap <3

5. Feeling well rested and recharged after a good sleep. Doesn’t happen often. Case and point, it’s 3:30 am where I am so that’s good

Whump Prompt: a Whumpee that won't ask for help because they're ashamed of their condition(s). Caretaker finds them in the middle of an episode/flare-up, and Whumpee apologizes over and over for bothering them. Caretaker dismisses this, telling them there's no need to apologize, and goes about helping them through it

Whumptober Day 20

"People don't change people, time does" / Blanket / Found Family / "You will regret touching them

Honey skipped into Caretaker's office and ran to her father Caretaker. Whumpee tucked in their legs as far as they could, startled by the sudden movement.

"Honey, I've told you to be calm around Whumpee", Caretaker looked at her then at Whumpee.

"I'm sorry", Honey looked over at Whumpee, "I forgot."

"I need you to be able to remember this" Caretaker patted Honey's head, "Whumpee will be with us for a while, I want them to be able to be comfortable here, not stressed."

Honey went to leave, but stopped in front of Whumpee and kneeled down.

Whumpee peaked up from their arms to look at her, they had tear tracks down their face.

"It will be okay", Honey promised, "my daddy makes everything better."

Whumpee looked deeply at Honey. This child was so full of joy and kindness, Whumpee marveled. They mustered all of their strength to make a weak smile and nod.

When Honey left, Caretaker came over to Whumpee and knelt down, "are you doing ok? Are you sure you want to stay on the floor? The couch is very comfortable."

"May I stay with you sir?", Whumpee whispered hoarsely, "I am fine on the floor sir."

"You can absolutely stay in my office with me all you like, I just want to make sure you are comfortable", Caretaker lightly patted Whumpee's arms, "I'm sorry for my daughter startling you though."

"Please don't apologize for them, its refreshing to see someone full of life", Whumpee whispered again.

Caretaker smiled, "I appreciate that." He stood again, "I'm going to start working again right over there, if you need anything at all just let me know. The couch is still up for grabs if you like."

Whumpee nodded, then rested their chin on their arms. They watched Caretaker start working again from the corner of their eye. They then noticed someone peaking in the doorway.

Honey saw that Whumpee had caught her, she gave them a smile and ran off.

Honey came to the office again a bit later, this time quietly walking to Caretaker's side. She noticed Whumpee had dozed off.

"Daddy, will Whumpee be ok?", they whispered.

Caretaker picked Honey up and sat her on their lap, "in time yes, they have been through a lot. They are scared and uncomfortable, and now they have to get used to new people and new surroundings, but I hope that soon they will be able to get comfortable enough here. After that I should be able to start working with them more."

Honey glanced at Whumpee, "but daddy, you're the best, you've helped so many people already, why do you have to wait?"

Caretaker smiled, "well it's not always that easy, taking care of people like how I do is a process. The biggest thing is earning trust. Many that are put in my care have been hurt by others, it's hard for them to trust again. Whumpee was hurt really badly for a long time."

"Is that why they cry a lot?", Honey frowned, "I feel bad when they cry."

"Yes, they had to be really strong and courageous for a long time. Right now though, they are learning they don't have to be strong like that anymore. So they are working through those emotions that had to be buried for so long", Caretaker saw that Whumpee was peaking an eye out at them, "what is something you do when you are feeling sad?", Caretaker asked Honey.

"I cuddle with my teddy and blankie", she smiled and started to hug Caretaker.

He squeezed his daughter with a grin, "that's right. I think mommy was going shopping, how about you see if you can go with her, I think Whumpee will be waking up soon. They might need some help."

Whumpee looked out the door in enough time to see Honey disappear, "do you fear she is to young too know about these horrors?", Whumpee sighed.

Caretaker frowned, "I don't believe in hiding things from my child, unfortunately this world will show her one day how bad it truly is, but I hope by then she will know there is still good in it", Caretaker smiled, "I hope in that instant, her heart will stay golden."

"It will sir", Whumpee sighed, "with the family she has, her heart will stay golden."

"This is your family now as well", Caretaker smiled, "do you need anything?"

"May I go to the bathroom", Whumpee looked up, "please."

"Yes of course you don't have to ask for permission", Caretaker started to stand while talking.

Caretaker reached down a hand to help Whumpee up. Whumpee leaned on Caretaker all the way to the bathroom, and all the way back.

"How about the couch this time? Your butt has to be numb from sitting on the floor", Caretaker led them into his office.

"I'm alright, but if you insist and really want me on your couch, I'll try it. I haven't sat on furniture in a long time", Whumpee limped across the room, Caretaker followed behind happy to see Whumpee take a few steps on their own.

Caretaker braced Whumpee as they sat down. Whumpee was a little wobbly.

"How does it feel,", Caretaker questioned as Whumpee got comfortable.

"It feels good sir, I've only sat on the floor for the last few years", Whumpee grinned slightly, "it feels weird."

Later on, Honey came running to Caretaker's office, "daddy", they whispered. They ushered Caretaker to come with them, and led them to the living room.

Whumpee looked up but buried their head into their sleeves again. They were still on the couch, but fighting everything they had not to jump back down to the floor. This wasn't what they were used to. They could hear Whumper yelling at them.

They were brought back to reality when something was throne over their shoulders. They jumped, but seeing Honey's smiling face kept them from panicking.

Whumpee looked at what was thrown over them, a-a blanket, they looked at Honey in shock. Honey then pulled out a stuffed toy, hugged it, then gave it to Whumpee.

"These are for you", Honey smiled, "my daddy gave me the idea when he asked what I do when I'm sad, mommy helped me pick them out. I thought maybe they would help you."

Whumpee glanced up at the doorway where Caretaker and his wife were watching the exchange with pure joy, then they looked back at Honey.

Tears started to well up in Whumpee's eyes as they took the stuffed toy and hugged it as Honey did. They didn't remember the last time they cuddled a toy, or been wrapped in a blanket.

"Thankyou so much", Whumpee started to cry.

The next hour, Honey showed Whumpee her favorite ways to cuddle a stuffed toy. Caretaker walked back into his office a bit later, having left them to it. He smiled when he saw Whumpee and Honey cuddled up with each other sleeping.

For this moment, Whumpee was at peace.

Whumpee thinks Caretaker is their new master. Good trope, right? But check this out;

Caretaker doesn't notice.

Because the morning after the day they were rescued, all Whumpee did was get Caretaker a cup of coffee. It was only after then that Whumpee realized new master new rules, and Caretaker might not like coffee at all. So after an hour or so of a panic attack, Whumpee decides to stay put and not do anything.

But Caretaker didn't say anything about that coffee, so Whumpee should probably keep doing that?

And so, every morning, Caretaker gets a cup of coffee, says thank you, that's a nice gesture, and gets done with the day, while Whumpee tries to stay as quiet and unnoticed as possible. Not angering Caretaker is their top priority. Caretaker notices Whumpee is really, really quiet, but hey, they might just like it quiet. They do seem a little scared, but they've been putting off well, so Caretaker is positive that they'll get better with time.

Then Caretaker hears Whumper liked a cup of coffee every morning.

That's.. a strange coincidence.

I hope that's a coincidence.

And they finally try to talk to Whumpee about it, and Whumpee breaks into tears and Caretaker realizes what a mess this is,

Wait but this is such a cool idea!

Thinking about the narrator caring about the characters.

I don't really know how to describe it, but in 3rd person stories there's someone telling it, who doesn't ever interact with anything.

Narrator having to just talk about what's happening without being able to interact. They get really attached to whumpee, and have to describe their death. They have to explain exactly how whumpee dies in painful detail. They can't help, they just have to sit and watch.

Nex liked drawing and reading and playing Minecraft. They had a little cat named Zeus. They were only a year younger than me. I bet we could have been friends. This makes me scared, scared for trans kids everywhere, scared for my friends, scared for myself.

Nex was forced to use the wrong bathroom and was killed for it. Other students beat them to death in that bathroom. Anti-trans laws kill trans people, it is not an exaggeration.

Ohhhyesss

Whump drabbles, 6/100: spy.

“Wait.” Caretaker squinted, bringing the photograph closer to her face. It was a family portrait, found in Whumper’s old lair. “Is that…”

She turned the photo towards Whumpee, pointing at someone in the middle, right next to the man they knew was…

“Whumper,” Whumpee whispered. “With Teammate.”

Both men’s features were easily recognisable, and seeing them side by side, they did look similar.

Whumpee looked at Caretaker. “What do we do now?”

The picture frame dropped from Caretaker’s hands. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her pistol.

“We chat,” she said. “Our friend’s got some explaining to do.”

"NO, NO STOP IT!" Caretaker screamed at Whumper as they held Whumpee underwater.

Caretaker pulled at their chains hard, their wrists bruising with all the strain. They could only watch as Whumpee struggled and squirmed against Whumper's firm hold. That water was freezing, and it was only a matter of time before they'd drown.

"FUCKING STOP IT! LET THEM GO YOU BASTARD!" Caretaker continued to shout as Whumpee's movement became less frequent and slow.

"You should have thought this through Caretaker, now your sweet Whumpee will die at the hands of your worst enemy." Whumper said, a devilish grin spreading across their face.

"Like hell with that." A voice said as two people stormed into the room, rifles in hand.

"Teammate 1...Teammate 2 what are you doing here?!" Caretaker asked as Teammate 1 started to unlock his chains, and Teammate 2 dealt with Whumper.

"Saving you guys of course." They said.

Teammate 2 had Whumper back into the wall whilst they pulled Whumpee's limp body out of the bathtub. As soon as Teammate 1 released Caretaker, they rushed over to Whumpee.

"Come on Whumpee, come on, please, please..." They said frantically, starting to perform CPR on them. "Come on wake up Whumpee please!"

Just when they thought it was too late, Whumpee coughed up a mouthful of water and gasped for air. Caretaker huffed out a laugh and brought Whumpee into a tight hug.

"Oh thank fuck I thought I'd lost you..." They said.

"You're alright..." Whumpee sobbed, wrapping their arms around Caretaker's shoulders.

"I'm okay, you're alright now, I promise."

WoW's Birthday Whump Event!

Hi everyone! WoW here, and after some thought, I decided to do this! Unfortunately, no fancy picture or anything so this will have to do!

Also, instead of the entire month, I'll do 15 days instead! Thinking up different prompts for all 30 days is kinda hard, so this will have to do LOL

Prompt #7

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

I don't think I've ever seen Carbon Monoxide poisoning in whump...

I mean, there's just so much potential!

Characters falling ill with some mysterious sickness, everyone in the house having similar, if not the same symptoms.

Maybe it's just dizziness, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, and nausea. All things that are inconvenient, and after a certain point, become worrisome and quite concerning but not life threatening and some might just brush off. Maybe if they live alone they think they're over-dramatic or that their age or past experiences are finally getting to them. If they have roommates, maybe they chock it up to food poisoning or seasonal allergies being extra bad or maybe it's all the studying, work, and/or parties. Some could even think it's a virus of some kind.

But it continues to get worse. With things like seizures, hallucinations, and disorientation making a character who lives alone think they're going completely insane or maybe they finally go to the hospital because y'know. Seizures. If they're roommates, then wow, that's some bad food poisoning. Or they've been having some awful trips lately.

Anyway, eventually if nothings done about it, it can leave a character or two comatose or even eventually dead.

Just seems quite whumpy and with a ton of potential. Whether it's a sickfic, environmental whump, etc.

Not to mention; what about a recovering whumpee? What or who are they hallucinating? This sure would make physical and mental recovery a hell of a lot harder. Especially when the caretaker is extremely ill and experiencing similar symptoms as the whumpee.

Would be a shame if this happened to your poor recovering blorbos :(
