After Genevieve almost died, Miranda had to leave her in the care of Inquisitor's medics in an artificial coma in a regeneration vat. She had obligations that she couldn't just brush away, no matter how much she wanted to do so. She had to come up with a story to cover her absence for anybody asking it. She had to pretend like nothing happened and act happy.

It wasn't easy. Lord Raephen Verence demanded to control her each step and forced her into serving his noble house, becoming more a property than a human being. His former mistress definetely decided to get rid of her. She started to get blackmail, unknown person ordered her to open a suspicious-looking box near his ear while he slept if she didn't want everyone to know about her mutant blood. Those letters had an alarming amount of private and highly classified information about her. Trying to sort all of that out, she also worked on a big social event, an interactive play she volunteered to create for the higher society to enjoy. 

So when Genevieve showed up on the Grand Premiere evening with fresh scars and new bionic subtly shining through transparent dress sleeves, Miranda couldn't hold tears of relief.

- I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...

She felt metal hands on her cheeks, gently pushing her face up. Suddenly Miranda saw that Genevieve had real eyelashes and real eyebrows. Like she used to have before that reactor incident.

- Don't cry, your makeup will run,- Genevieve said with a gentle smile.

- You have your lashes back.

- It's a side effect of staying in the vat. The doctor said...

- I love you so much! - Miranda interrupted her with a desperate hug. - I need you, I'm so happy you are here! 

- I couldn't miss your big day, - Genevieve tried to wipe the running mascara from Miranda's cheeks. - You will make an unforgettable impression on all those people.

- There's so much I need to tell you.

- Let's go somewhere private. You will tell me everything, and I will fix your makeup.
