The Father.
You’ve made mistakes. You see them play out on an endless and nauseating loop whenever you close your eyes. If you could just interfere! Somehow pass on what knowledge you now possess to the person you were then. Of course, now you know, you know, YOU KNOW. But what’s done is done, leaving you behind, holding the shards of what you broke in your bleeding and calloused hands. They look at you differently now, so you smile bigger and hope it reaches your eyes. It’s okay though, because you’re going to make it better, you have to. And god knows you can’t be wrong again, you simply won’t allow it, can’t even entertain the idea. When doubt creeps in, you’ll stamp it down. When things begin to go wrong, you’ll turn a blind eye. There isn’t room inside of you to hold any more wrong.

tired of walking on eggshells pretending like i don’t care about shipping when i do actually. sue me but i crave romance and i think it’s fun to write. i WANT to ship my characters. i don’t care if our first interaction is setting the foundation for a plotted ship. the best part is this still doesn’t mean shipping is my main focus but god the purist culture the rp community has developed around shipping and painting it as some moderately taboo thing that you should only ever indulge at a strict minimum is so exhausting. ship with me.

[  INCOHERENT  ]:     while sick/feverish/intoxicated/otherwise incoherent, the sender tells the receiver that they love them, leaving the receiver to figure out if they meant it or not.
aemond had had enough of a time getting the poor girl into the bed to rest  ,  calloused hands from battle lowering lyanna as gently as he could.   the storm outside raging against the window  —  a nice contrast to the soft candle light illuminating the darkened room.   easing the covers over her ill ridden body  ,  the prince hummed softly as he began to tuck her in.   despite only being the second born son  ,  it seemed that aemond was always taking care of others needs and duties.   protecting helaena from meleys  ,  taking aegon down for his mother  ,  comforting alicent after his own eye had been taken and calming her down  .  .   he never got a chance to take care of himself.   even now  ,  looking down at the stark girl.

violet eye watching her for just a moment more  ,  making sure she’d be okay when he left to go get the maester.   about to stand ,  the boy paused when he heard his companion speak up.   if it hadn’t been so quiet aemond thought he wouldn’t have heard it.   “   i love you.   “   so plainly in his ears  ,  did he hear her right?   she loved him?   he would have to question her in the morrow  ,  but for now  .  .   the young prince had to fetch the lady something for this sickness.
a silent nod to the dark haired girl nuzzled into the bed as he shut the door behind him  ,  aemond’s head filled with too many thoughts to even think about where he was going.   having almost missed the maester’s doors  ,  it was settled.   he was going to bring it up in the morning  ,  ask lyanna if she had meant it and what she had meant by it.   did she truly love him?   or was it just a trick of the sickness  ,  a familial love that he was misunderstanding.   aemond never truly understood women  ,  but he tried.

idk how to describe the exact thought process that led me to this idea, but basically i was watching a tonne of ins.tagram videos and i think i had hit the fourth video in a row using that interview where it’s like “love ya, bye.” “love ya…………..PFFT–” and i was like. in a way, that’s actually completely adorable, and i was thinking about all the different ways and contexts in which people say “i love you”, and now i’m here to make it everyone else’s problem! so bon appetit! DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST!! i will add to it in the future!! i will also be making a second list which is virtually identical, but there are two additional prompts that are not suitable for young eyes, so here u go, here’s a sfw version, and remember, if you add to the list i will curse ur shoes to be squeaky 24/7. so just don’t add anything to the list, okay my loves? okay. enjoy!
[  FIRST  ]:     sender tells the receiver “i love you” for the first time.
[  PHONE  ]:     during a phone call with the receiver, sender absently tells them “i love you” for the first time before hanging up.
[  MOUTH  ]:     while standing across a crowded room from one another, sender catches the receiver’s eye and mouths “i love you” to them.
[  WEDDING  ]:     as they prepare to exchange wedding vows, sender gazes at the receiver and says “i love you” for the last time as an unmarried couple.
[  HEAT  ]:     while engaged in a passionate argument with one another, sender, in the heat of the moment, blurts out “i love you!” to the receiver. ( think of like, that glorious trope where people have a huge argument and then suddenly sb drops the mic with “because i’m in love with you!” and silences the other person. u know the trope! )
[  SLOW  ]:     after resisting their feelings for one another for a very long time, sender finally breaks down and reveals to the receiver that they love them.
[  SAVED  ]:    having believed they were both about to die, the sender says “i love you” to the receiver, only for both of them to be spared at the last minute and left to process the not-so-final last words of the sender.
[  OVERHEARD  ]:     sender reveals that they’re in love with the receiver to a third party, not realizing that the receiver, while out of sight, has just overheard the confession.
[  CHOOSE  ]:     sender, realizing the receiver is about to make a huge life-changing decision (literally anything, accepting a job offer, accepting a marriage proposal, leaving the country, ANYTHING!) tells the receiver that they’re in love with them, leaving them to choose between the sender and their original path.
[  DECISION  ]:     sender finds the receiver just as they’re about to make a massive decision that will have massive consequences for the fate of many people, possibly the world. accepting their fate, sender allows the receiver to continue, telling them that they love them, and then waiting to see whether the receiver choose to save the world, or destroy it.  (for the hero/villain vibes bc we STAN THOSE VIBES! )
[  LAST  ]:     believing it to be their last chance to confess their feelings for the receiver, the sender tells them that they love them.
[  ASK  ]:     immediately after saying “i love you” to the receiver for the first time, the sender proceeds to propose to them.
[  BEDSIDE  ]:     while sitting by the sick/injured/unconscious receiver’s bedside, sender reveals that they’re in love with them, unaware that the receiver is able to hear this revelation.
[  TEXT  ]:      before concluding a text conversation, the sender delivers one more text to the receiver, reading “i love you”, before ending the conversation.
[  SACRIFICE  ]:     just before putting their own life in danger to protect, save, or help the receiver, the sender tells them that they love them, and then proceeds to risk their life in an intentional self-sacrificing way.
[  BATTLE  ]:     as they prepare to go on a dangerous mission, sender shares a final moment with the receiver, and tells them they love them, just as they head out to fight.
[  TRACE  ]:     sender, believing the receiver to be asleep, gently traces the message “i love you” on the receiver’s bare skin with their finger.
[  LETTER  ]:     sender delivers a letter to the receiver that reveals their deep love for the receiver.
[  PRIVATE  ]:     sender confesses their love for the receiver by using a private joke or shared story that only the two of them know.  ( example: “remember the day we went fishing on the lake and you fell into the water because you thought that leaf was a sharkfin? that was the day i knew i loved you.”  )
[  NOTE  ]:     on their way out of the house, sender leaves a small note for the receiver to read when they wake up, reading “i love you”.
[  UNSPOKEN  ]:     after a third party (or the receiver themselves) asks if the sender is in love with the receiver, the sender goes silent, unwittingly admitting that they do love them in the process.
[  KISS  ]:     unable to find the right words to express how much they love the receiver, the sender impulsively catches them and pulls them in for a passionate, deep kiss.
[  RAIN  ]:     sender reveals their love for the receiver while they’re both standing outside in the pouring rain.
[  HUSH  ]:     sender whispers “i love you” to the receiver while they’re both in a situation or context where they need to be quiet.
[  UNCERTAIN  ]:     while pretending/acting/undercover, the sender says “i love you” to the receiver, but whether they meant it or not is left unknown.
[  DANCING  ]:     as they slow-dance together, the sender takes the opportunity to lean in close to the receiver and tell them that they love them.
[  QUIET  ]:     on a cozy night in with the receiver, as they curl up together on the sofa/in bed, the sender says “i love you” to them.
[  RELIEF  ]:     upon reuniting with the receiver, whom the sender briefly believed to be dead, the sender emotionally embraces them, and says “i love you” in the spur of the moment.
[  LAUGH  ]:     while laughing at a joke/prank/story that the receiver is humorously displaying, the sender fondly tells them that they love them.
[  OVER?  ]:     after a mutually reluctant (and unwanted but necessary) break-up, the sender calls/visits the receiver and tells them that they’re still in love with them.
[  VOICEMAIL  ]:     sender leaves a voicemail on the receiver’s phone after failing to get through to them, and reveals their love for them.
[  ASLEEP  ]:     sender, having climbed into bed to cuddle the receiver (who they believe to be asleep), tells them that they love them.
[  INCOHERENT  ]:     while sick/feverish/intoxicated/otherwise incoherent, the sender tells the receiver that they love them, leaving the receiver to figure out if they meant it or not.
[  TRUST  ]:      faced with an incredibly risky situation, the sender decides to accept whatever plan the receiver decides on, trusting them with both of their lives and telling them they love them in the process.

okay so i got like, three books delivered this week, and in anticipation i reread another book that i had, and lads, let me tell ye, it was like quicksand. so now i have a list, some from my head, many from my wonderful friends’ heads, of prompts that basically made us all very soft or very “pleasantly scandalized rich lady from the sixties who just found out a juicy bit of goss about the new neighbor”. i hope ye like them! (DO NOT ADD TO THE LIST. I WILL MAKE A PART TWO. AND THREE. AND FOUR. MANY MANY PARTS. EVENTUALLY. )
[ HAIR ]:          sender slowly reaches out to catch a loose strand of the receiver’s hair and tuck it gently and securely back behind their ear, letting their touch linger afterwards. (if the receiver has short hair, then the sender reaches out and gently runs their fingers through their hair to smooth it back.)
[ CLOSE ]:          while standing remarkably close to one another, the sender is unable to stop themselves from running their gaze across the receiver’s body, lingering for a moment on their lips, before returning to initiate prolonged, intense eye contact.
[ CHIN ]:          as they stand close to one another, the sender hooks a finger and tenderly lifts the receiver’s chin, tilting it up so that they can look at one another, and running a thumb across their skin lightly.
[ THUMB ]:          while cupping the receiver’s cheek in their hand, the sender slowly glides their thumb across their cheekbone in a tender, sweeping caress.
[ WOUND ]:          upon noticing a recent injury on the receiver’s person, the sender carefully moves closer, running a thumb (or hand) across the wound in a gentle, troubled manner.
[ INHALE ]:          while standing in very close quarters to the receiver, the sender shakily inhales with desire/anticipation as they realize how intimately close they are to one another.
[ DANCE ]:          when alone together (e.g. the bedroom, the kitchen, literally anywhere once they’re alone) the sender takes the receiver’s hand, and pulls them into a graceful yet intimate dance as a spontaneous act.
[ BARE ]:          as they get undressed, the sender gently places a soft, tender kiss against the receiver’s bare shoulder.
[ SCAR ]:          noticing a scar on the receiver’s skin, the sender tentatively stops them from covering it up, and rests a gentle, soft kiss over it.
[ FOREHEAD ]:          placing a hand on the back of the receiver’s neck, the sender guides them close and rests their foreheads together.
[ PALM ]:          taking the receiver’s hand, the sender brings it to their mouth, and places a tender kiss against the receiver’s palm.
[ LINGER ]:          taking the receiver’s hand, the sender lifts it to their lips, and gently kisses their knuckles, lingering for a moment before withdrawing.
[ BEHIND ]:         upon entering the same room as the receiver, the sender steps behind them, and winds their arms around the receiver’s waist, drawing them close against them.
[ WAIT ]:          realizing the receiver is about to leave the room, the sender hastily reaches out and catches their wrist, preventing them from continuing their departure.
[ ARM ]:          after holding their hand, the sender releases the receiver, but slowly glides their hand up the full length of their arm, lingering on the upper arm, then the shoulder, then resting their touch against the side of their neck.
[ HOLD ]:          while close to the receiver, the sender wordlessly takes a hold of their hand, for no other purpose than to be holding it.
[ PLAY ]:          while sitting together, the sender absently lifts the receiver’s hand, idly running their fingertips across the lines of their palms, mapping out every inch of their hand with slow, lazy touches.
[ GUIDE ]:          in the process of guiding the receiver through a crowded place, the sender’s hand protectively grazes against the small of their back
[ TOUCH ]:          while touching the receiver’s waist, the sender’s hand briefly dips beneath the hem of their shirt, skimming briefly across the bare skin of their waist.
[ CUP ]:           bringing both hands up to cup the receiver’s face, the sender draws them in closer to them in order to get a better look at their face.
[ TUG ]:          the sender tugs the receiver close against them by resting a hand against the small of their back, pulling them flush against their body.
[ HUSH ]:          while standing close to one another and hiding from pursuers, the sender reaches up and places a finger against the receiver’s lips to prevent them from speaking and revealing their location.
