In preparing for my 19 goals in 2019, I bought a rubik’s cube. I figured since some of my goals are life stuff, like build my credit, I’d balance out with silly ones. Like complete a rubik’s cube. I found one for cheap, so I figured I’d go ahead and buy it. Of course, Conner wanted it. So I scrambled it all up and let him have a go at it. I figured he’d lose interest quick, which he did. So I started playing with it. I think I’m starting to regret making this a goal. I might need the whole year to finish it.

[Review] No Exit by Taylor Adams
No Exit by Taylor Adams Hardcover, 352 pages Expected publication: January 15th 2019 Rating: ★★ This was my pick for December's Book of the Month. I wanted to like this book. The synopsis sounded interesting. It was fast paced and kept me turning the pages. But it fell flat for me. Most of the "shocking reveals," I guessed. Our characters felt kind of flat, no one was really likable. By the end of the book, it felt like I was reading the book version of a late 90's thriller flick. Complete with plot holes large enough you could fall into. .

“Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire, Harry?” Dumbledore asked calmly.
The word ‘calmly’ can hold different meanings in different circumstances. If you were to pass someone a bucket of water calmly when their house was burning down, it could suggest that you were the sort of brave individual who was always prepared to combat the sources of arson when they occur. If you were to ask a nervous bank teller to fill a sack with money while calmly pointing a gun at their head, it might mean that you were the kind of villainous person who practiced such odious and criminal activities on a regular basis. Or if, like me, you were to sit calmly typing the next chapter of your chronicle in the lives of some unfortunate young children, while all around you the kitchen of the reputable restaurant that you were hiding in was slowly filling with sand, it would indicate that you have a life that is often filled with peril and misfortune, and that you were bound by duty to complete your task, no matter how miserable.
Of course, the word ‘calmly’ is never used to indicate a person flying into a rage and shouting your words angrily. ‘Angrily’ is in fact an antonym of ‘calmly’, an antonym being a word with entirely the opposite meaning of the original, such as ‘villain’ and ‘volunteer’, ‘birthday party’ and ‘tragic fire’, or ‘author’ and ‘happy person’.
Now, obviously, a well-read and distinguished director of cinema would never mistake a word with its antonym. That would be preposterous, a word which here means ‘create an incredibly out of character scene and confuse the audience.’

$50,000 immediately dropped into my bank account wouldn't improve EVERYTHING but boy it sure would be a grand, sexy little start to a good, happy life path, don't you think

There’s a bug going round (though I have my doubts as to how much of a ‘bug’ it actually is) that prevents people from accessing their blogs if they go to the blogname.tumblr.com address. Any attempt to access blogs this way (ours, those of others or any kinds of links on the web that lead back to Tumblr posts) results in us being redirected to the main Dashboard page (tumblr.com/dashboard). The only way to access a blog, for those of us affected by this bug, is to go to the Dashboard pop-up view (tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/blognamehere). Of course, the Tumblr mobile app is wholly unaffected. Of course.
Here’s where it gets very fucking sketchy for me:
so far, every single user I’ve seen affected by this bug is located in Europe, like myself;
when I tried to access several blogs (my own among them) through a US proxy, I was able to do so, without being redirected to the Dashboard
I repeat, this ‘bug’ affects European users and I was able to access blog-pages by using AN AMERICAN IP ADDRESS. What in the ever-loving hell, @staff?
In light of GDPR (and Tumblr being singled out as one of the sites that made it as onerous as possible to opt-out of your data being shared with a ludicrous number of third-parties), I really wouldn’t be surprised if they’re trying to kick European users to the curb in this way / trying to force us to use the mobile app instead. Just the thought of having to pay for a VPN so I can keep this fucking site even remotely functional (remember – no Tumblr content link from the web is accessible anymore – if I click on a link that’s blogname.tumblr.com/post/postnumber, I’m always redirected to the first page of the dashboard) makes my blood boil.

hey guys unpopular opinion but you’re not a bad person if you don’t care about every bad thing happening in the world all the time, or if you do care but you’re not constantly reblogging posts spreading awareness and information
it’s okay if you’re just on tumblr to have fun and reblog things you like or that make you happy.
humans aren’t made to process trauma and suffering on a worldwide scale without any breaks whatsoever & the internet has created an unprecedented access to bad news so please never feel guilty for scrolling past it because you can’t process it! and you’re not doing anything wrong & there’s no need to feel guilty
