Phew, this was a tough one for Yein, whose entire theme is centered around choosing kindness and love in the face of unspeakable pain and suffering. My partner described this outcome as: "Yein, if the coin kept landing on the wrong side." Now I can't get that out of my head.

🎨 — art

I had to think about this one for a bit because being 'good' at something like art is so subjective, right!? I think I'll answer by saying this: Odette does not have many traditional art hobbies. She is a passable sketch artist of things like flora and fauna and ghosts and ghouls -- for work, you understand. Stuff meant for private notes, or notes shared with Yein at most. She does not paint, nor sculpt, nor write. She does have creative outlets like knitting (which she is awful at) and she plays several instruments, but I don't know if those fall under "art" in this case?

Vierapril, Day 10 - Breath

Taking that first gulp of air after leaving Ul'dah, and walking down the Eighty Sins of Sasamo, is a memory that's stayed fresh in my mind.

The air in Thanalan stings. It burns in your throat and clings to your lungs. If you had an alchemist's eye, I'm sure you could find bits of dust, metal, sand, and ceruleum, all swirling about like a cloud of miniature daggers. They make a perfect blend of heat and pain to keep you on your feet and moving until you find shelter.

Descending the stairs leading away from the city takes time, and the land is all too eager to reward you for your efforts. It forces you to consider what those Eighty Sins were, and the pain Sasamo must have felt going up and down the stairs, eighty times a day for eighty days. Could I have done the same? Would I die after the eightieth day, as she did?

Unlike Sasamo, I have no intentions of upsetting the sultanate. But, breathing in hot desert air and sweating under clothes meant for colder climes, I confess that I'm taken to a time before the Calamity, where I have been tried and convicted for coveting the throne my sibling inhabits.

The city knows me as Princess Sasamo, but that title was stripped from me.

This is my twentieth descent today.

I take desperate gulps of air as my feet are forced to touch burning hot stone, over and over.
