The plot of the game starts because the main character is bored! Reality ended and restarted about five minutes ago and the forces responsible for ending it are still trying to destroy everything, you just don't know it yet. You stop paying attention to the box containing the dragon egg of prophecy for, like, two minutes and a box loving creature steals it for its box fort and now you have to do a whole retrieval quest to find the egg! The hatchling from the other egg gets extremely murdered immediately after hatching so the evil guy it ended up with can have an undead skeleton dragon. You have a goofy paladin friend who makes puns and loves fighting zombies! He spent most of his life believing himself to be the sole survivor of a zombie plague that he witnessed slaughter his hometown. There are pirates and ninjas and they have a rivalry! And also monkeys! All of reality is fundamentally post-apocalyptic and there is a very good chance you will never comprehend this, even though the memories of witnessing everything end are still there, buried deep in your mind. Chickencows exist! Chicken + cow = chickencow! They have a god who accidentally made bacon a fundamental building block of reality that one time! There are two characters who were born fundamentally disconnected from a central part of the world and one of them became a genocidal fascist about it and the other became a cheese-themed half of a Batman and Robin parody duo. There's a zany wacky magic guy who makes weird weapons and turned a building into a fish once! He's one of maybe three people who remembers reality before it was rewritten. There's a bunch of silly parodies of pop culture stuff, like Scooby Doo! You break down sobbing at your best friend's grave after being the last one to leave his funeral.

Stop putting DNI on your tags and stop bringing shipping discourse into AO3

AO3 hid the story and asked OP to remove the tag (the fanfic is not even removed) due to the inflammatory tag. That's deserved. AO3 is not a social media for people to fight over ship and chronically online discourse. It's a library. If people keep bringing DNI and discourse into AO3 it'll make the place toxic for writers and reader.

What are you trying to accomplish with putting DNI? Do you think people actually care about DNI? No, it's just making you looking like an asshole doing this

Also AO3 was founded by a Wincest and Thorki shipper. Astolat made AO3 because FF net and other sites keep purging nsfw fanfic. AO3 is literally made for problematique shipper that op don't like.

I know many others tried to translate the abyssal texts in The Chasm, but as soon as I realized that the texts are in Classical Latin I had to see for myself so I could put those Latin classes to use for once lmao Latin teacher be proud of me i need validation

I got to mention that it's been almost 4 years since my last Latin class so yeah 🧍‍♀️

I believe rune 1 and 4 go together, thus forming the sentence "Non est ad abyssis via" = "There's no (safe?) road from earth to stars"

I also like to think that rune 2 and 7 go together since it makes most sense with 7 being the end of a sentence: "I summon the living and (their?) shadows"

*I assume Imp comes from impon, meaning "to graft plants"; Agnarr is the name of a figure in Norse mythology, as well as the name of an abyss lector

*vedi doesn't exist in Latin, which really confused me so I assumed it's a misspelling of vidi, "to see". However, after a little research in romance languages I learned that in Catalan vedi means "to prohibit, to prevent"

And that's about it! I'll continue to analyze them whenever I have time and maybe do a little more research in other romance languages and see if I've missed something.
