The loving theory- Kageyama Tobio
Part 3
This is a filler for the story bc I’ve been super busy and this is the best I could come with. T/W: probably the worst thing I’ve ever written but yeah… judge yourself ig
At this rate this is a slow burn
Part 1, Part 2
Tumblr media
"This might come as a surprise to everyone, but I'd like to introduce you all to a new addition to the club," announced the team's captain, gesturing towards you. "She will hopefully be your manager for the next three years."
After delivering his introduction, he stepped aside, allowing the team to get a glimpse of you and introduce themselves.
"Hi, nice to meet you. I'm (Y/N) from class 1-6, and I'll be taking care of you from now on," you said respectfully to everyone, surveying the gym since your arrival. Nine other guys and another woman greeted you with smiles—well, most of them. Kageyama looked surprised, a tall blonde appeared disinterested, and Hinata had stars in his eyes.
"Wow, you're really going to be our manager?" shouted the orange-haired boy, running up to you.
"It looks like it," you replied with a smile.
After all the introductions and some enthusiastic outbursts from Hinata, you stood beside the other manager, Kiyoko, who introduced herself as you awaited Daichi's next instructions.
"As you know, tomorrow we'll play against Seijo in a friendly match," Daichi began. "It's not a lot, but they are one of the top teams from Miyagi, and we'll see how we perform with this new lineup. Let's work hard today."
Throughout the training session, you assisted Kiyoko, learning the ropes of managing the team. Just as the session was wrapping up, a teacher entered.
"Okay, everyone, now that Takeda is here, let's discuss tomorrow's rotation," Daichi announced.
"Come on, let's sit together," your senpai said, taking you by the arm.
As the conversation unfolded, you peppered Kiyoko with questions about the team's composition.
"You guys don't have a libero? And only two third-years?" you asked.
Kiyoko sighed with a sad smile. "There's another third-year who used to be our ace, but he stopped playing after last year's tournament. He and the libero were like a package deal. We're still trying to convince them both to rejoin the team."
You observed Kiyoko's dedication to the team throughout the training, despite her introverted demeanor. As you interacted with her, you could sense the beginnings of a great friendship, despite the two-year age gap between you.
As night fell and training came to an end, you helped clean up the gym with the rest of the team, engaging in conversation with Hinata, who appeared increasingly nervous.
"Are you okay? You look quite pale," you remarked, concerned.
"Huh? Me? Yeah, I'm totally fine. Why would I be nervous? I'm definitely not going to mess up tomorrow, and we won't lose because of me," Hinata replied anxiously, his worries bubbling to the surface.
Realization dawned on you. This would likely be Hinata's first match with a real team, and the pressure was getting to him.
"It's okay to be nervous, but tomorrow, it's not just you. They will all have your back. This time, it's not you against them; it's 'we,' okay?" you reassured him, rubbing his back in an attempt to calm his nerves. However, Hinata continued to mutter self-deprecating remarks, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
"Don't worry, (Y/N), he'll be fine tomorrow... hopefully," interjected Suga, appearing with a mop in hand. "By the way, Shimizu had to leave, but she told me to give you this. Welcome to Karasuno," he said warmly, handing you the team's jersey.
"Thanks," you replied, immediately putting on the jersey. "How does it look?"
"You look awesome, but not as awesome as Kiyoko," Tanaka chimed in as he passed by, making his crush on the other manager very evident.
"I'll keep that in mind, thank you," you laughed. "If that's everything for today, I should probably get going before it gets too late." With a wave goodbye to everyone, you headed out.
On the way back home, you stopped at the convenience store next to the school for some steamed buns to eat on the long walk. However, as you exited the store, you ran into Kageyama unexpectedly. He looked out of breath as if he was running just a minute ago but as he got a glimpse of you he straightened up and coughed before saying “Let’s go together, it’s not safe for you to go alone this late”
You nodded and led the way, with Kageyama following silently behind you. It had been hours since Daichi introduced you to the team, and Kageyama hadn't spoken to you since. It almost seemed like he was intentionally avoiding you.
As you walked, your thoughts swirled with questions and unresolved feelings. What did he mean by "Sorry"? Sorry for neglecting our friendship? For not being there when my dad passed away? For the hurtful words he said? The possibilities loomed in your mind, but you were determined not to confront him about it. Not now.
The silence stretched on as you approached your home, and it became apparent that Kageyama had no intention of breaking it any time soon. Finally, you reached your doorstep, turning to face him with a mixture of curiosity and resignation.
"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Kageyama," you said, unable to hide the tinge of disappointment in your voice.
He glanced up, the expression of surprise again on his face “Kageyama? I thought…”
"Yeah, keep thinking," you cut in, your anger flaring as you entered your house. He really thought a generic sorry would cut it?
Inside, you tossed your bag on the couch and let out a frustrated sigh. The encounter with Kageyama had left you unsettled and upset. Sitting down at the kitchen table, you tried to distract yourself with your homework, but your mind kept wandering back to the unresolved tension between you and him.
"Why does he have to be so difficult?" you muttered to yourself, tapping your pencil on the table.
The sound of footsteps approached from behind, and you turned to see your mother entering the room, concern etched on her face. "Is everything alright, sweetie?"
You hesitated, unsure how much to share. "Yeah, I'm okay... It's just... Kageyama."
Your mother's expression softened, understanding flickering in her eyes. "Ah, I see. Do you want to talk about it?"
You shook your head. "Not now, Mom. I just need some time to figure things out."
She nodded, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. "Take all the time you need, darling. I'm here whenever you're ready."
With a small smile, you returned to your homework, grateful for your mother's support. Deep down, you knew that waiting for Kageyama to understand the situation would require more than just time.

The loving theory- Kageyama Tobio
Part 2 of my Kageyama story
Content warning: MANGA SPOILERS, angst, mention of a family members death (that's probably it for now, aside from my very watpad plot and probably my bad english), THE WORST WAY OF CARRYING A PLOT
Not proofread
PART 1
Tumblr media
Looking out of your window you watched as the wind gently swayed the trees. Your mind was clearly not on the math homework in front of you. You was definitely going insane since your encounter with Kageyama earlier, but you couldn't get it out of you mind. Did your mother know he would be going to Karasuno? Why didn’t Miwa tell you? How come you hadn’t seen him for the past week at all on the way to school?
With a sigh, you focused entirely on the street. With the sun setting, the night lights were already on, and most people were already home, so it was fairly deserted outside. The house in front of yours had all the lights out, meaning the Kageyamas weren't home yet. You had been there so many times before that you knew the exact floorplan of the house, which was slightly different from yours. Your bedroom window was face to face with Kageyama’s but you made sure the blinds were closed almost all summer so you wouldn’t have to see him but after seeing him today you thought it was useless now.
Glancing at the clock on the desk, it read 7 PM, meaning you had to hurry and prepare dinner for you and your mother. With only one source of income, you lived quite tightly, but you made it work, even if it meant sacrificing time together. Your mother had taken on additional work shortly before the school year began, increasing the household income. As a result, there was an established routine where yoy assumed the responsibility for cooking dinner every evening.
“Oh dear that smells wonderful” said your mother from behind startling you slightly, you didn’t ever hear the door.
“Hi mom, how was work?” you said, smiling
“Same as always baby” replied your mother while kissing your head “ Actually, I just ran into Tobio how late do these boys come from practice?” added with wonder in her voice
“Did you know he chose to go to Karasuno?” you lowered the heat on the stove to speak.
“Oh god you didn’t know? I’m sorry baby I thought Miwa or him would’ve told you”
“We haven’t talked in months” you replied in a week tone
Your mother's expression softened, understanding dawning in her eyes. "I'm sorry to hear that, sweetheart," she said gently, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder.
"It's okay, Mom," you said, forcing a small smile. "you’ve been busy with work and everything."
Your mother gave you a sympathetic look before turning her attention back to the simmering pot on the stove. "Well, let's not dwell on that now. Dinner smells delicious. Why don't you go set the table, and I'll finish up here?"
Nodding, you moved to the cupboard to retrieve the plates and set the table once yo were done you ran to your room to take a jacket and there you saw him, in his room. He must’ve seen the light switch in your room as he looked up directly at you. He was shirtless and combined with his shocked face he waved awkwardly at you. Blushing, you took the jacket and left the room as fast as you could leaving a shocked Kageyama behind.
The image of Kageyama shirtless lingered in your mind, sending a flutter of nerves through your stomach.
Your mother glanced at you curiously but didn't comment, instead pouring steaming bowls of soup into each plate. "Everything okay, honey?" she asked softly, her eyes full of concern.
"Yeah, everything's fine, Mom," you replied quickly, forcing a smile. "Just feeling a bit tired, I guess." your mother gave you a knowing look but didn't press further.
On Monday morning, the rain painted the town. You luckily didn’t encounter Kageyama that weekend after Friday’s incident, but you spent the whole weekend thinking about joining a club. Your first choice was being a manager for the men’s volleyball club. You found the time you spent with Sugawara and Hinata quite enjoyable, and you were in desperate need of friends in this school. However, after learning that he was also in Karasuno, you kind of discarded the idea.
You looked at Kunimi and Kindaichi on the other side of the booth while sipping on your overpriced drink. The two boys were talking about their classes and the club but your mind was everywhere except their conversation.
“What’s on your mind?” asked Kindaichi
“I don’t know, I’ve been thinking of joining a club but…”
“you don’t want to run into Kageyama” interrupted Kunimi
“Was I the last one to know that he was also going to Karasuno?” you said with disbelief “anyway, how do you even know that?”
“Don’t worry, I couldn’t care less where he went” started Kindaichi “I could never play again with someone as selfish as him”
“Yu” you couldn’t help but scold
“You can’t keep defending him. I don’t care what his problem is you even tried to help him and he treated you like garbage”
“Kindaichi calm down, this is not the place for this.” Intervened Kunimi before the other boy could get more worked up “We actually know because next week we have a practice match against them”
“And?”
“Oikawa requested it. Kageyama has to play the whole match as the setter”
“Oh god, can he be more egocentric? Isn’t he old enough to get over whatever issue he had when we were 13?”
“He’s actually quite nice you know. It’s easy to play with him” you couldn’t help but roll your eyes “Okay okay no more Oikawa. Why don’t you join the club? Fuck Kageyama. Didn’t you say that there was also that lousy player? The orange haired one”
“I know but Kageyama was the exact reason I quit last year”
“And I’m still mad about that” said Kunimi.
"Aki'," you said with a hint of affection, a playful glint in your eye. "If you're so eager to kiss me, just say the word," you teased, only to be met with his playful retort, complete with mock puking sounds “Okay maybe I could do like a trial or something but, if I end up being their manager don’t be sore losers when we win”
“Likewise” answered the both of them
Even if you didn’t approve of what they did on their last tournament Akira and Yutaro had become great friends. You also kind of understood why they did what they did because after all Kageyama had been their friend and teammate for two years, they reached their limit that day. They were there on your father’s funeral and made sure you didn’t isolate yourself you were grateful to have them and still be in contact with them after choosing a different school than them.
When you left for home it was already dark outside but since it was a school night the streets were pretty calm. You always liked going on night walks, specially with Kageyama and his grandfather. They started when his health deteriorated and couldn’t join you on your jogs, but those walks became the best part of your days. If you weren’t with your father, you would be at Kageyama’s watching some match on the TV or playing outside so when he died it was also a blow for you. You tried your best to keep Tobio company and try to distract him a little, you thought you were helping him until he snaped that day.
As you approached, you spotted Kageyama walking towards his house, sporting the Karasuno jersey. He looked really good in it; you couldn't help but notice. You've always thought he looked best in darker clothes, especially with his dark hair and pale skin. Suddenly you remembered the sight of him shirtless in his room and blushed a vibrant red. He looked up and caught your eyes as you reached your door.
“I’m sorry” he almost shouted making you jump.
Flustered and caught off guard you let out a simple “Okay” and closed the door rapidly. How the fuck were you supposed to manage the club and see him every day?

The loving theory- Kageyama Tobio
Heey :), I'm new to the whole writing thing but i decided to give it a chance with some fic ideas i had. I plan on making this one a multiple chapter story depending on how it goes. I will also say beforehand that this story will eventually contain smut. Some will be explicit and some won't. Also, this contains manga spoilers regarding kageyamas family and stuff so if you mind spoilers please don't read this :)
Kageyama enemies to lovers (supposedly)
Content warning: angst, mention of a family members death (that's probably it for now, aside from my very watpad plot and probably my bad english)

The start of the school year meant fresh starts for most, yet for you, it marked the daunting prospect of navigating a new environment where familiarity was limited. Coming from Kitagawa Daiichi, the likelihood of encountering any former classmates at Karasuno seemed slim as it was located on the outside of the city. Although many of your peers enrolled at Aobajohsai, your heart remained steadfast in the desire to follow in your late father's footsteps by attending Karasuno. Thus, on the very first day of high school first year, you found herself seated in solitude during lunchtime, surrounded by your classmates engrossed in their own groups.
Looking down at your cold food you decided to go for a walk and explore the grounds you´d have to go through for the next 3 years. you weren´t that brave to go to the second- and third-years floor so you mostly walked around the school’s first and ground floor. Once outside, you started to hear people talking and a ball hitting something, and being the noisy person you were, you got closer until you reached a passageway leading to a gymnasium. That's when you saw a boy with orange hair and another with silver hair playing with a volleyball. Making sure they couldn’t see you, you watched them toss the ball around practicing bumps. It was obvious the orange haired one was a newbie since all the balls he hit where going anywhere except in the direction of the silver haired one. Unexpectedly one specific toss ended going your way making both boys aware of your presence.
“Hey, can you pass that?” said the orange haired boy.
“Hinata be more respectful” scolded the other one “Sorry, don’t mind him. Could you please pass us the ball?” he said looking at you.
“Sure, are you guys from the volleyball team?” you asked passing the ball to Hinata.
“Yes” he answered loudly “Well, not yet but I will be”
“I hope you aren’t the libero then” you tried to crack a joke.
“Oh, you know how to play?” said silver hair
“I just know the basics, I used to be a manager in my old school” answered the girl smiling awkwardly
“Really!?” screamed the boy “What school did you go to?”
“Hm.. Kitagawa daiichi” you said in a low tone watching the boy’s face drop a little.
“The king’s school? But I didn’t see you at the match the last tournament” you cringed a little over the nickname and the mood dropped visibly.
“Yeah, by that time I already quit managing for the team” you responded quietly
“Shoyo, I think it’s time for you to go back to class or you’ll be late. I’m Sugawara koushi by the way, nice to meet you” he said grabbing the younger boys shoulders, and you thanked him mentally for changing the subject.
“Oh sorry, I’m (Y/N) nice to meet you senpai” you said noticing the boys shoe color.
“I’m Hinata Shoyo, please be our manager” he introduced himself while being dragged by the older boy.
“I’ll think about it” you almost to herself since the boys already left.
Then you started thinking about how you didn’t expect to hear that nickname ever again. You obviously knew who Hinata was referring to since you still talked to most of theteammates you had back at Kitagawa daiichi and knew what happened back in the tournament Hinata talked about. You hurried and took out your phone and messaged Kunimi to ask him about your new acquaintance.
-Hey Aki, do you happen to know a short guy with orange hair? You played against him last year probably-
After hitting send you quickly went back to class, not without the feeling that something was off.
Not long after the initial encounter with the two boys, you found yourself repeatedly bumping into them in the hallways and even at the exact spot where youfirst met. You often joined them during their practice sessions, and it became somewhat of a routine for the week.
"I never asked, but why are you practicing during your free period? Don't you have official club hours at the gymnasium?" you inquired, sipping from a carton of milk you had purchased from the vending machine.
"Well, technically, I'm not in the club," Hinata responded. "Didn't you hear about the incident with the subdirector?"
"Oh my god, that was you?" youexclaimed, laughing. "I heard about it from some girls in my class. But that still doesn't explain why you're practicing out here."
"It's sort of like a penalty. Tomorrow, they have to play against the other two first-years who joined the club. If they win, they get to stay in," Suga explained.
"Wait, they? Who else has to play?"
“Another first year that was involved on the incident”
"The king, Kageyama. Do you know him? He also went to your school" Hinata interjected with a sour expression.
At the mention of that name, you paused for a moment, your breath catching in your throat. Your expression must have shifted noticeably, as the senpai's next words were, "Hey, are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Yes, sorry, I have to go now," the girl hurriedly responded, quickly making her exit, leaving the two boys behind.
It couldn't be, you thought. He shouldn't be at this school. Why would he? After treating you the way he did, how could he choose the high school you had told him so many times you would attend?
Lost in your thoughts, you collided with a solid figure, nearly stumbling backward. Thankfully, you were caught just in time by the person you bumped into. Looking up, you was about to apologize until you recognized the boy standing in front of you.
"You."
Kageyama hadn't anticipated having to confront her so soon. Well, truth be told, he didn't often think things through. But in that moment, he wished he had at least considered what he might say if they ran into each other.
“Hi” he said like he was out of breath “I-”
"Keep it," spat the girl before he could say anything else. She turned around sharply, her footsteps echoing as she strode away, leaving Kageyama standing there, speechless, with a weighty silence enveloping the space between them.
He couldn’t do much except return to class and contemplate what to say in case he happened to see you again. However, he didn’t expect to be questioned by Hinata about you.
"How do you know her?" he scowled.
"Suga senpai and I met her the first day while practicing. She's been coming to keep us company ever since. She's super nice and knows how to play volleyball. It's too bad she doesn’t want to be part of the club," responded Hinata. "Do you know her?"
"Of course I know her, dumbass. We went to the same school, and she managed our club," he retorted.
"Weren't you friends? Why are you making such an ugly face? You’re gonna end up like that permanently if you don’t stop," said the boy, completely serious.
"Shut up, you idiot. How come you’ve been practicing all week and you are shittier than before?" countered the raven-haired boy
"You shut up. This is all your fault. Why did you even come to this school?" he said defensively.
"It's none of your business. If you’re not going to shut up, you can practice alone. Not like you’re going to get any better," said the raven-haired boy before storming off.
Kageyama never envisioned himself attending Karasuno in the first place. His initial preference was clearly Shiratorizawa, but without the recommendation letter and failing all the entrance exams by a wide margin, it remained an unattainable dream. Aoba Johsai was also out of the question; he couldn’t fathom playing alongside his former teammates after the fallout from their last match in elementary school, not to mention the potential blow to his ego from encountering his old senpais. However, upon hearing of Coach Ukai's return, he concluded that Karasuno was his best option, even if it meant potentially seeing her every day.
Truth be told, he caught sight of her on the very first day of the opening ceremony. Amidst the sea of unfamiliar faces, he couldn’t help but seek her out. She appeared paler and thinner than the last time he saw her, back when he uttered those regrettable words, instructing you to stay away from him. Following that incident, she left the club, and he didn’t get a hold on her even at graduation. He regretted those words the moment they left his lips, but it was too late; she departed while tears streamed down her face.
He was too ashamed to talk to (Y/N), so during the first week, he did everything in his power to avoid her. Choosing longer routes to ensure they wouldn't cross paths, delaying his departure from home until he was certain she hadn't left hers – all because they were neighbors. He couldn't fathom how the two of them never crossed paths during the holidays before the start of school. At one point, he even wondered if her family had moved after her father's passing. Throughout the summer, his sister scolded him for not reaching out to her, but he honestly didn't know what to say. Although he attended the funeral with his family, he left before she could spot him, convinced he didn't deserve her forgiveness.
He couldn't bring himself to approach her and ask for forgiveness. After losing his grandfather, he felt lost, and truth be told, he still did. Yet, amidst his constant mood changes, she remained by his side, a fact he was too blind to acknowledge. All the efforts (Y/N) made to distract him from his loss, and he lacked the courage to express how sorry he was for her own. He only knew of her because she kept in contact with his sister, and he was somewhat relieved knowing she had someone like his sister to provide comfort.
Why did everything have to be this difficult? He couldn’t help but think.
