Snape Angst Headcanons
Snape is the definition of angst.
Getting him to be your lover is hard, but becoming friends isn’t any easier. If you even suggest that you might be, his reaction is, “You are under the false impression that our relationship is more than colleagues/acquaintances. I am not your friend. It’d be silly to think otherwise,” but he doesn’t mean any of it! He’s just scared of showing his feelings to others and doesn’t want to burden you with his existence, so he retreats.
But he still cares for you. If you accidentally hurt yourself or get into a sticky situation, be prepared for a lecture. It doesn’t mean he thinks less of you, even if he may sound condescending; he is just worried for your well-being.
He is a massive hypocrite, though; if you ask him if he’s okay or needs help, he snaps back. “I am not a child. I am more than capable of looking after myself!” (is he, though?)
If you give him a gift, even if it’s such a small thing that requires practically no effort or thought, he refuses it until you insist multiple times because he’d “do anything for you to stop whining.” But in reality, he feels so touched. He cherishes it forever.
The above point holds for any kind of affection. If you ask for a hug, he rolls his eyes before embracing you in the most awkward way possible (but only once he is comfortable enough with you).
Don’t bother giving him compliments. He will only downplay his talents/skills/intellect at best or reply with self-deprecating remarks at worst.
If you catch him staring at you, he doubles down by glaring at you, almost as if you are in the wrong for just looking in his direction.
The only way to get him out of his shell is to confront him one-on-one, forcing him to come to terms with his feelings. He tries to get you to leave, but you have to stand your ground. If you tell him you care about him and want the best for him, he can only say, “I never asked you to!”
If you apologize to him for a small wrongdoing, he pretends he doesn’t care. He forgives you but doesn’t explicitly say it (he might let out a heavy sigh and suggest you two simply move on.) On the inside, though, he admires your humility and care for his feelings.
But if you really wrong him…let’s just say, don’t expect the same reaction from him. Yes, he’s used to people hurting him, but it doesn’t make it any easier when it happens again. If he comes to love you, he will find it in his heart to forgive you eventually. It won’t stop him from loving you, but he may need his space.
If you yell at him, even if you are not angry at him but are stressed out or had a bad day, he will leave you alone. He won’t speak to you unless it’s necessary, and not just for that one day. He’ll only continue talking to you once you give him the okay. But it’s not out of pettiness; he hates being a bother and is convinced any conflict means whatever relationship you have is doomed.
Building and maintaining a relationship with Snape is hard. All relationships require effort, but with him, you’ll find that progress isn’t linear. However, with the right person, he can slowly become more of himself time. His feelings for them are deep, even if he doesn’t verbalize them.

Things like that make me unable to think of Albus as a good person...
“what will you give me in return?” is such an insane thing to say to someone who historically has Fuck All. even more insane to say when you are Aware that they have literally fucking nothing

Because His tongue-in-cheek tone is great 🤩🤩🤩
Snape haters: How do people even like Snape?
Also Snape:
“Yes, it is easy to see that nearly six years of magical education have not been wasted on you, Potter. Ghosts are transparent.”
*****
“Would you like me to do it now?” asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony. “Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?”
*****
“I was just showing Harry my grindylow,” said Lupin pleasantly, pointing at the tank.
“Fascinating,” said Snape, without looking at it.
*****
As Harry raised himself into a sitting position, his head still swimming from its last contact with the ground, he saw Snape running as hard as he could, the enormous beast [Buckbeak] flapping behind him and screeching as Harry had never heard him screech —
. . . Snape had managed to Disapparate just beyond the school’s boundaries.
*****
Snape gave her [Umbridge] an ironic bow and turned to leave.
*****
“The mind is a complex and many-layered thing, Potter — or at least, most minds are.” He smirked.
*****
“Potter, when I want nonsense shouted at me I shall give you a Babbling Beverage. And Crabbe, loosen your hold a little, if Longbottom suffocates it will mean a lot of tedious paperwork, and I am afraid I shall have to mention it on your reference if ever you apply for a job.”

Knowing what he went through, even if I don't really know how he was stripped naked to make fun of it in front of so many people.... How can anyone downplay the importance of this? How can anyone ignore this fact?
And at the risk of getting a lot of hate, I have to ask if the Marauders had done the same thing with one of the Slytherin girls would those people still downplay it? Or is it that because it was Snape, everything is justified?

These are just my personal headcannons about Severus’s Clothing:
1. It is his armor against the rest of the world, a physical way to represent the shutting out of others, a kind of bodily Occlumency that makes him feel safe.
2. It is impossible as an adult to do to him what the Marauders did to him as a child, I.E strip off any part of his clothing. There are so many layers and buttons I image it makes him feel physically and sexually safe as well. No eyes where he doesn’t want them. No hands where he doesn’t want them. No Wands to remove what he doesn’t want removed. (Could he possibly enchant his clothing too; to make it impossible for someone besides himself to undress him?)
3. On a lighter note, it’s Victorian chic as hell. It’s Screaming Byronic Hero from a million miles away. Like something out of a Mary Shelly or Dracula novel, just so romantic and sweeping and refined looking. Goth King we stan.

If Severus was short Harry would have been commenting on it - but instead he said Sirius was TALLER than him, and Sirius is a goddamn giant. Saying 'Sirius was taller than -person-' is like saying 'Sirius was taller than Professor Flitwick', like no shit... ...UNLESS Severus was also notably tall - but Sirius is even taller. Severus is tall. Remus has been interacting with Severus all year - if Remus was taller than Severus Harry prob's would have said so, considering he said so when Sirius was taller than him. Sirius > Severus > Remus But if I am wrong, please place short Severus on my lap so I may pet him. Fuck it put tall Severus there too I don't need circulation.

And every time you dare to defend it, someone goes for the jugular.
The same ones who defend Regulus, Draco, Sirius, James... They don't understand that a character can be morally gray and not be evil because of it
Defending Severus Snape is not enough. I need a fucking gun

There are characters in this franchise who did not let themselves be bit by a three headed dog to protect a stone or ran through the castle in their nightshirt upon hearing someone scream.
Or agreed to spy on the most dangerous person on earth withoutht gaining anything.
With the prospect of being tortured and killed if they were ever found out.
Who risked being exposed by trying to save Lupins life at the battle of the seven Potters- eventhough they hated that man.
Who ignored forbidden activities their students did so they would not be punished by the deatheaters(,the carrows).
Or who lept out of a window so they wouldn‘t have to hurt his colleagues.
And still Severus remains the most hated.
To quote another post i can‘t find anymore:
„These are not the actions of someone who does not care.“
His actions show, that he cared deeply for the safety of his students and colleagues.
And still he is treated worse that Bellatrix or Barty or Regulus or Draco or Lucius.
When he was the most caring and devoted and human all of all of them.
Make it make sense.
Actions speak louder than words.

Snape was obsessed with Lily and James truly loved her!!
Bullshit.
Snape: Respects Lilys boundaries and stays away from her after the mudblood incident.
Does not stalk her.
Does not give her a love potion etc. eventhough he could.
Lets her go.
James: Literally threatens to hurt Lilys friend, if she doesn’t go out with him.
Hurts Snape out of sexual jealousy and to get Lilys attention.
James patronus doesn‘t match Lilys, it was a stag before he got together with her- it didn’t change to match hers. Snapes changed to match her doe- must be obsessed. Couldn‘t possibly be because he just loved her so much. No- must be an obsession.
Is noone gonna talk about the fact that Tonks patronus changed to match that of her husband?
I guess she must have been obsessed too.

CELTIAN "Adalina" (Vídeo lyric)
I listen to the song and, apart from the fact that I love it, it reminds me of Severus, as his destiny was totally linked to Lily's.
Escucho la canción y, aparte de que me encanta, me recuerda a Severus, pues su destino estuvo vínculado totalmente al de Lily

“waa waa snape outted remus as a werewolf”
has it ever occurred to you that he was well in his rights to do that??? like, sure, love remus n all- but it was EXTREMELY dangerous to have him at hogwarts.
marauders stans act like snape outted him as gay or smth, when he didn’t. being gay doesn’t hurt anybody, but being a werewolf sure does. Remus almost KILLED multiple people with his OWN negligence and no one else’s. HE forgot to take his wolfsbane. HE forgot about the full moon. So yeah, Severus was well within his rights to speak up on it, especially when he himself was almost killed.
