warnings/tags: mentions of neurotypical, abed not understanding, i try to write abed as accurately and appropriate as possible i hope my depiction of him is okay!

abed wasn’t one for social cues. you knew this from the start of being in the chaotic study group. whenever someone was sarcastic, he thought they were serious. and if someone was unhappy with him it sometimes took abed a while to notice.

however, you trying to let abed know you like him through simple signs was hellish. even a neurotypical person may not even get the signs, therefore poor abed nadir never stood the chance.

troy, as the role of abed’s best friend – practically platonic boyfriend – did notice the signs. watching as you took more than an interest in his movie rants than even troy could sometimes bear, bringing him hot chocolate in the morning, or asking him fitting questions and smiling lovingly as you watched him go into overdrive and talk it out.

annie and troy would fangirl over it, fawning over their best friend having a love interest. oh how badly they wanted abed to have someone, especially someone like you, who treated him just as well as they did.

troy had been desperate to tell abed, knowing you struggled on that end. but after months, annie had begged troy not to ruin the story and that it’ll happen when it’s meant to.

however, his promise to keep it to himself didn’t last long. since, one day, after you left their shared apartment – all lovey dovey eyed after hours of watching abed’s favourite movie per your request – troy immediately let it spill.

annie was smiling, watching abed as the door clicked shut and troy reluctantly set his third chocolate cake slice down to the side, “y/n likes you!”

immediately, annie’s smile drops, landing a swift smack against troy’s arm from sitting beside him, “troy! what did i tell you?” they bicker slightly, at first not noticing their best friend’s confused expression.

“what do you mean?”

annie sighs, looking over to abed who is trying to process the news in his own way – which seems to be slightly confusing but overwhelming him all at the same time.

“… what troy’s trying to tell you is that y/n likes you, like… in a romantic way abed.”

abed’s eyes are darting, eyebrows frowned as he continues to intake the words his friend’s tell him. “in a ‘let’s get together’ way?” asks abed, and they both nod in reply, expectantly watching his expressional response.

abed didn’t depict this in their television show, although he did portray you as the ‘pretty one’ or as the ‘caring and kind’ one of the group which he is now realising is because he thought those things himself.

so, without responding, abed stands, shocking his friend’s as he runs to the door and quickly down the hall. “abed! abed, where are you going?” troy yells desperately, worried tones while annie mutters, “look what you did.”

he doesn’t stop, reading the front door wedged open with an old brick and towards your frame, now opening your car door to drive home. “y/n!” you hear and pause, turning to see abed trudging over.

“abed- whats going on-?” your interrupted as abed kisses you, short but slightly breath-taking as your mind goes blank, in disbelief. once he pulls away, abed says nothing, making you speak first, “is that one of your movie character moments or…” you trail off, unsure what else it would be.

“you like me.”

you groan embarrassed, “i’m gonna kill troy i swear.”

“i like you.”

you pause, looking up at his daring eyes, scanning your confused expression, “y-you do?” you ask him.

“yeah… i think so.”

usually, that answer would worry you, but it was different with abed, it was a major moment between you both in that moment. abed nadir hardly admitted feelings, especially in a romantic sense, unless he was depicting a character.

“do you think annie and troy will be watching us from the window?” you ask with a giggle and abed smiles, immediately responding, “absolutely.”

you lean up, pressing a long and heartfelt kiss to abed’s cheek and you watch his reaction, taken aback but a small smile still covers his face. his fingers touch the spot, his cheeks heating up like a furnace while you spin round to your open door to your car.

“i’ll see you tomorrow, abed, okay?”

“okay.” abed replies, waving you goodbye as you drive off, knowing he will go back into chaos of annie and troy squealing and celebrating their friend’s newfound romance.

i like him! i don't feel romantically attracted to him, ngl his accent is where i shut off oops :')) it's very medieval english king charles core and lowkey kills me, sebastian sallow's isn't as bad and he's scottish so it makes up for it.

but as for his character in general, love him. him and sebastian are the perfect balance, is the responsible slytherin we love and just cares a lot for his friends. great great character overall!

as for mattheo riddle + theodore nott - i don't really look much into it tbh i wish i did. but whenever i hear theodore nott i think of the one from the movie ( which i know people have a fancast different ) and he looks like the average local boy in my area which is concerning. but i totally get the people who write and read for both the fancast characters!

a/n: i love this sad lil' guy, prompt taking from prompts via my boyfriend.

you’re relationship with draco was complicated. he was a pureblood slytherin, and you weren’t. however, behind the opposing personalities, whenever you conversed with the ashen blonde boy there was a hint of tension laying thick in the air.

while he wasn’t kind to people, he wasn’t mean to you. whenever someone spoke ill of you he would defend on your behalf, but before you could thank him he’s walking away ignoring you. it was confusing.

the annual ball took place, and you went with your friends, dancing with hermione filled with laughter and light. but the whole night you felt draco’s eyes on yours.

he was with a slytherin girl, you knew to be popular in the year. but his eyes never left your frame, even when you made eye contact, his gaze never faltered.

you laid in bed all night thinking about it, and had finally had enough. so, without any sleep, in the early hours of the morning you decided to take a walk to clear your head.

the astronomy tower was a safe haven, open air of the view of scottish highlands a classic escape from searing thoughts. however, you were unaware of the company from the person you were trying to clear your mind from.

until he spoke.

“i couldn’t stop looking at you yesterday.”

you sigh, looking down to your hands holding the metal gate, “draco…” you trail off. you couldn’t see him, but could feel him moving closer behind you, his footsteps heavy but slow.

“it’s true. it was impossible to turn away, i watched you all night.”

you finally turn, looking at his demeanour from in front of you cautiously. simple black trousers and top like he hasn’t been in bed himself and he sends a small, daring smile your way.

“i can’t do this anymore,” you say in contrast. the constant tension when you didn’t believe anything would come of it in the end. he was closer, standing right in front of you, tall frame forcing you to look up at his soft features.

“do what?” draco dares you to answer, he was quiet and to the point, scanning over every inch of your features delicately that you felt so seen. “whatever this is, draco.”

you sigh again, looking down, “you were with daphne greengrass, you shouldn’t now be here saying you were looking at me instead.”

draco looks confused, as if it was so simple, “but i was.” his finger touches your chin, cold touch forcing your eyes to look back up at his own before he continues, “in fact, i was looking at you so much she ended up spending the ball with cassius. i don’t blame her, my whole night was focused upon you.”

“draco, if you’re here to do this and then walk away as if you don’t even like me then i’m not going to entertain it.” you watch as draco smiles, enjoying your company in a way he’s never been so close to you, finally under his touch as he leans in closer to your face.

he chuckles lowly, highly entertained by how bothered you were, wanting a clear and concise answer from the boy who always showed he cared in the most draco malfoy way.  

and he was willing to give you that answer, “trust me, i don’t plan on walking away anymore.” with that your lips finally meet, soft yet firm as draco displays his affection, finally.

the corners of his lips tug slightly when he feels you kiss back, fingers tracing your jaw before he holds your face, not wanting to pull away from your warm face.

draco wasn’t one for words, and reveled in the fact that now you seemed to accept that, tense body relaxing while you push closer to him, lips moving as if made to be together.

playful bickering had filled the room for the better part of five minutes as you practically ransacked your room in pursuit of jess' missing jacket. it was here somewhere, but where, you had no idea.

it was almost frustrating. your room wasn't even that big, and unless jess had gone out of his way to hide it, there was no reason the search should have turned into an all out scavenger hunt.

"this is worse than that time kirk lost all of those eggs," you groaned, pushing yourself to stand after searching underneath your bed.

"so dramatic," jess quipped, though his search in your wardrobe also proved futile.

"what did you even do with the thing?" you questioned, unable to hold back your laughter as even the most odd places were found empty.

"i hadn't seen you in four days, i'm sorry that my priority was-" jess cut himself off, dark brows furrowed as he scanned something on your desk.

"what are these?"

after a moment, jess held up his hand, a few loose sheets of paper clasped between his fingers and confusion written across his face. you, too, were confused for a moment before you realised.

"oh, uh," you scrambled for words, feeling your cheeks heat up as you realised exactly what he'd found. "they're nothing."

smart.

"nothing?" jess repeated, clearly amused. "well, 'nothing' looks an awful lot like some poetry. pretty good poetry, by the way. you write these?"

there was no point trying to deny it. not when he was looking at you with a slightly crooked smile and a soft gaze reserved only for your company.

"i guess, yeah." you shrugged, still embarrassed. "they're nothing special, scribbles, really."

"no? they seem awfully romantic," he teased, though there was something else behind his words. "are they... y'know. are they about me?"

you could have laughed at his question, the answer being so obvious, but the moment between you both seemed so vulnerable, a bubble that could easily be popped by even one wrong word.

"of course they are."

with great care, jess placed the sheets back down onto your desk and made his way over to you. warm hands found your own, lifted until they were held between yours and jess' frames. he gave you another gentle smile before his lips were on yours.

each movement of his mouth was poetry in its own way, conveying every small thought and feeling jess wished to tell you. every sigh was a confession, the trace of his tongue against your lips his pen upon paper.

the search for jess' jacket could wait. jess had found something far more precious.

I usually post stories first of all when it fits into my routine, as well as look at the clock and do it when a lot of people in the world are awake and potentially at a point where they're taking a break and looking at their phone.

i'm late but i get what you mean but it's hard to decipher as some days if it's a good time for everyone it still doesn't get a good reaction, it just depends.

i've been trying midnight gbt time to see, seems to work okay... could be better though.
