This is inspired by the Washington Post pictures that annoyed me for photoshopping out his moles/freckles. I practice a lot on photos of NG and TZP, but this one was decent enough I felt like actually sharing 😁
thank you @kiwiana-writes @cha-melodius @magicandarchery

today I offer up another bit of something that was supposed to be for kinktober but has unraveled into something with plot and feelings (no one is surprised) so it may be out sooner than that?? WHO KNOWS ANYWAY ENJOY xx

Henry gazes down at the dusty maps, the faded lines he and his father had drawn connecting the points, the scrawled notes out to the side, more passion imbued into these old papers than any of his work at the station. It feels as if he’s showing Alex a piece of his own heart on the page, his throat tight and face warm.
“I know they aren’t perfect, but—”
“This one,” Alex points to a spot before he can finish, gazing at the map longingly. “This is my home.”
The breath catches in his throat.
“Orion,” Henry breathes.

I actually have sentences today! Revisited an old friend this morning while at breakfast for the first time since February. I didn't realize how much I missed this universe, so welcome back to my single dad Alex fic.

Henry knows it's a sensitive topic before he asks the question, but turns his attention away from watching Elena on the jungle gym to look at June and asks, "What about her mother?"
June purses her lips, breathing deeply while she considers Henry's question. He takes this is a good sign, since every time he asks Alex about it, the topic is immediately shut down.
"What has Alex told you?" June's voice is cautious and it takes her an extra beat before turning her head to meet Henry's gaze.
"You know Alex."
June nods."I do."
Henry turns his attention back to the playground for a moment, long enough for Elena to see him watching, and he feels that tug in his chest that's become as familiar and automatically to him as breathing. Elena waves at him, smiles so wide Henry can see her dimples even at a distance, and he knows there is absolutely nothing he wouldn't do to keep her happy, protected, and loved.
June must sense that in him because she takes a deep breath and begins to talk.
Always an open tag so please tag me if you take it, but also tagging: @bigassbowlingballhead @getmehighonmagic @violetbaudelaire-quagmire @eusuntgratie
