The anima relaxed seeing the tears rolling down; before quickly realizing that he was crying as well. He wiped away Elizabeta's, ignoring his own for now. "But you did your best... after you escaped, they made sure to hire more competent guards. To avoid something like that ever again. No successful escapes were made and those who tried were made examples of. But I... I knew my time was running out. It wouldn't be long before they decided I was worthless. So I got out. And now I'm here where I'm not in pain for the first time in... I don't know how long."
The man gasped for air as he ran. He wouldn't be captured again! Not now, not ever! The field soon gave way to trees but he kept going anyway. Further and further in he went until he couldn't run anymore. Finally, he collapsed, his head burning with a fever. @ask-anima-2promano
Something large seemed to fly over the man soon after, only for it circle back around. Some sort of winged creature had caught sight of him, but the trees blocked it from landing. As it passed over him again, a figure jumped off of it and into one of the trees. They were quick climb down to the floor and rush over to the fallen man.
“Sir?” The figure, now revealed to be a masked human woman, kneeled by his side. “Sir, please respond!”

Do you know where you family is, Nyka?
"The only family I have is my aunt and uncle. And they must still be living at my old home."

"What's this?"
A woman snatched up a paper poking out between the floorboards. It's writing was clear, as if it had been penned only yesterday. The women looked over the lettering with a bored gaze until she reached one line in particular.
"Adrian, you must see this!"

Do you have a hero or anyone you look up to?
Nyka looked around the house for a moment before speaking. "I really look up to Jackie and Flavio. They both do a lot for me when they didn't have to. And... I love them for it."

Nyka, do you have any friends while you are here?
"Yeah! There's Elise and Aurel I didn't think they'd like me too much since I'm human but they're my best friends!"

Nyka, what do you think of Flavio? Seeing you’re staying with him? Any funny habits he have?
"I like him a lot! He's pretty patient and he has a lot of books I dont understand, so he helps me read them! But funny habits... whenever there's a weird smell his tongue flicks out a lot."

As hurtful as this may bring, what is special about the place you grew up for you?
"It's... where I remember feeling most at home. After my parents were killed, my grandparents took me in. But there's this whole thing with my species of anima where at 12 you're supposed to be ready to fend for yourself. And they wouldn't see that I aged like a human child. So I was kicked out and on my own. A fletcher took me in for a few years while I learned the trade and then I left him. I didn't feel at home with my grandparents or the fletcher. And where I live now didn't really feel like home either." The anima's eyes glanced over to Veronyka's room. "Up until recently, that is."

"I'll keep that in mind." Flavio entered the lounge room as well and took a look around. No matter how many times he visited he was still impressed by Sükh's home. The outside was so misleading but the inside looked as if a noble could walk in at any time. "But I'll need to put the project on hold for now. Someone's paid for a much larger bundle than what I'm used to."
The snake slid through the forest with purpose, on his way to the manor hidden inside. Today he felt somewhat joyful knowing he'd be seeing a good friend today. Flavio finally found the manor and approached the door before knocking.
The door opened and Sükh's head popped out, slitted eyes narrowed until she saw who it was.
"Flavio? I wasn't expecting you today."
She smiled, opening the door and shifting aside, part of her tail coiling around her.
"Either way, it's a nice surprise, come in."

Long Road Home End
He had finally arrived. A modest gravestone with two names etched in its surface stood before him. Flavio hastily ran  a hand through his hair, a sigh escaping him. Why was he nervous? It was… just a grave after all. But he was fighting to get any words out. It was as if they wouldn't come out.
"Hey, mama…" After several moments of stifling silence. "Hey, papa. Sorry I haven't come back sooner. Things have been tough without you around and I went farther away than I expected when you first died." He closed his eyes and allowed his shoulders to go lax. "I became a fletcher and I even have my own business. There's a little girl who lost her parents, too, that's staying with me..."
Hesitantly he reached out and touched the stone with his fingers. Brushing along the rough surface only further solidified that he was talking to a rock. Why was he wasting his time?! But he chose to keep going for whatever reason. Soon he was talking about everything he'd done since that night. All of his achievements, his fears, even the small moments that made him happy. It was strangely calming...
It was only when Flavio noticed the various shades of orange began dying the sky did he decide he had stayed long enough. So he pushed himself up and dusted the dirt off his pants. With one last look at the stone he turned back to the town to sleep for one more night. One more night and he'd go home.
Unbeknownst to Flavio however was that someone was indeed listening. Two people in fact. Behind the grave stood two apparitions, watching their son walk away with smiles on their faces.

Is there anything you miss about your old home? Would you ever consider going back?
The anima paused as he left the broken down house, turning back to take in its appearance yet again. Still old. Still broken.
"The only thing I miss are my parents. The house could burn for all I care. But it doesn't change that they're gone and have been gone for the last ten years."
He finally tore his gaze away from the structure and passed through the town. The kids ran past him playing some game, and the market was in full swing, a stark contrast from the crumbling house just a jog away.
"I dont really plan to come back except for one thing. One more place I must visit before going back to my actual home."

Any idea who could’ve attack you guys?
The book slsmmed shut. It's echo seemingly much louder in the musty house than it actually was. Flavio stared at the floor for just a moment as if contemplating the question before gently setting the journal back in its place.
"...He came late in the evening, that I remember. Admittedly, most of that night was a blur as I was the first to be attacked. I remember one of our windows shattering and being knocked to the floor with an arrow through my chest. I remember my mother screaming and trying to get me to respond and my father fighting the attacker. He didn't have time to grab a weapon and, unarmed, he had no chance against the sword he brought. My father was dead in the doorway."
"And then he came inside and I saw him. General Remus Leonetti. A man feared by all anima for his cruel treatment of us. At this point I... I couldn't keep my eyes open. I could only listen to what happened next. I didn't hear what the general said initially but I did hear my mother's response."
'Kill me. I don’t want to live in a world without my family.'
"I dont remember anything else beyond that. I woke up in someone else's house with my injury taken care of and the news that both my parents were gone."

What were your parents like?
The anima picked up a book in that room and flipped it open. While blurry and hard to make out he could see it was his mother's handwriting. A very welcome sight. "My mother was human. We didn't share much appearance wise except for our eyes. She placed a very high emphasis on education and made sure I knew how to read, write, and a lot of other stuff. We didn't have a lot of money so she had to get creative when teaching me whether she was using rocks for math or taking me into town to read whatever I could see. She was also very patient with the other townsfolk as they didn't trust her, being human and all."
"My father was an anima. I took mostly after him in appearance. He didn't share the same views as my mother when it came to education as he didn't have one himself. So we learned together and were on the same page in that case. He taught me what I could do as a snake anima at the multitude of milestones that marked when I was ready to know. Overall he was less serious than my mother and I played with him more with the various games unique to snakes, as far as I'm aware."
"I couldn't have asked for better parents... they loved each other and me the best they could. I just wish I could've spent more time with them."

What do you think happened to your home, Flavio?
"Abandonment." Flavio set the toy on a sagging table, probably due to the rain getting in. "It wasn't in the best condition when I lived here and the weather damage made all its faults that much worse."
He sighed and then entered another room. His parent's room. "And no one wants to live in a house with such a bad memory attatched to it."

How long has it been since you’ve been home? Why did you leave?
"It's been about ten years." The anima picked up an old toy, its original color now unrecognizable due to the dirt that had gotten in. "And I left because this was where my family was attacked. Where my parents were killed and I almost died."

“Jenni?”
In front of Flavio stood a deer anima. Her long ears flickered in clear surprise and she was just staring at him. He hadn’t thought about her in ages, years to be more specific. But if he was seeing her now… Then that meant…
“Am I,” He floundered in his question for a moment, thinking up his response. “Am I really back home?
A nod was his confirmation. The blonde took that signal to look around at the small village, impressed that it had stayed the same after all the years he’d been away. The stores were still in their old spots and he recognized most everyone, save the little kids and the odd neighbor who moved in after he left.
“Yes!” Jenni’s hands clapped in front of her. “It’s been so long! What are you doing here?”
“I came for supplies for a client of mine…”
“Oh then let me help you out!”
“That’s not really necssaRY-!” Too late, she grabbed his hand and dragged him through the village.
He met up with old neighbors, old friends, visited old hangout spots. He honestly felt overwhelmed with all of the information pouring back into his head but kept up with Jenni to keep her happy. Seeing everyone again was great but there was a pang in his heart every time he saw another friend. They all looked at him with pity. He could clearly see it. Some people were slightly uncomfortable. It wasn’t until he was being dragged to the store that he pulled his hand away.
“Jenni, thank you for showing me around but I can tell you’re avoiding something.”
She scoffed, fake as it could possibly be. “What? No, I’m not, What gives you that impression?”
“You know why. Is my home still there?”
It took some convincing but Jenni eventually took him to the old house. Parts of it were caving in due to no one living there for quite some time. Looking back at the deer, Flavio took note that Jenni was uncomfortable being so close to the house but he ignored it in favor of stepping inside his childhood home.
He was ready to face the nightmares of his past.

Long Road Home Part 2
The constant swaying of the horse was getting to him. It was enough to drive anyone mad! The saddle was digging into his legs and his back was starting to hurt. Nothing positive had happened for the last four days except for the fact he was almost to the village he needed to get to.
And yet… Flavio couldn't place it but something about the village's name was familiar to him. Caister… it was like an itch in the back of his mind that he couldn't reach, taunting him until he could figure out the puzzle. He tried to push the thoughts away but they only came back stronger than before.
The next day the village came into sight and he sighed in relief. He could take a break from the constant sickness in his stomach. Flavio's horse soon came to a stop next to an inn and he slid off to take a look around. Catching sight of all the small buildings and shops made the feeling of familiarity practically slap him. He just needed one more hint to figure this mystery out.
And he got that hint.
"Flavio? You're back?"

Long Road Home Part 1
Everything was finally together. Veronyka was staying with Jackie during the duration of his trip and he could take relief in knowing she'd be safe. Flavio even managed to borrow a horse from someone in the nearby village; and he could hook up the small cart quite easily. All he needed now was to make sure anything of valuable left behind was hidden just on the off chance bandits decided to check his place out.
As he worked through all of his items he came across one that stuck out to him. A simple gold necklace with a flower pendant hanging from its chain. The anima thumbed the flower for a moment before shoving it into his pocket. For whatever reason, he felt he needed this with him…
Very soon everything was taken care of and he went to mount the house outside. Flavio briefly glanced back at his home before flicking the reigns, the horse jolting and moving into action.
He was now off and on his way.

How do you figure the prices for your goods? Is it based solely on how long it takes to make them or the cost of the materials?
"Cost of materials, how hard the materials are to work with, time, and how much of my goods they want. A lot goes into the arrows and bows I make so the price fluctuates accordingly. Speaking of which, I actually need to go on a trip to get some specific materials for a client... I should talk to Jackie really quick and see about letting her stay with him while I'm gone."
