Romulus was an inventor with warm, tanned skin, short black hair and blue eyes. He wore simple clothes: dark brown pants held up by black suspenders, a white button-up with the sleeves rolled above his elbows and black shoes. He also wore a brown pageboy cap, but it was knocked off his head during his murder.

Synopsis

Romulus was the victim in Ring In The New Death.

He was an inventor who immigrated to Concordia from Rome about a week before his death. He moved to Concordia to start a new life and make a name for himself in the world of inventing. He had travelled with his old coworker Jason, who was moving to Concordia to be with his boyfriend. During the trip, they met Tomioka Takara, a fellow immigrant who was also moving to Concordia, and André Santos, a travelling musician from Brazil.

While sailing to Concordia, Romulus and Takara developed a romantic relationship and spent many nights together. But Romulus also had his eyes on André, though the Brazilian wasn't interested in the Italian beyond being friends. Still, when Romulus wasn't busy with Takara, he tried winning over André. After all, to Romulus, having two lovers was always better than one.

When the journey came to an end, and it was time to move into his new home in Concordia, Romulus immediately got to work con- I mean selling amazing inventions to people!

One of these (un)lucky customers was the wife of Misha Zima. Romulus had sold her a coffee maker… Which ended up exploding and burning most of Mrs. Zima's hair off. He sold equally dangerous inventions to other Concordians, and thankfully, no one was killed due to his negligence. But this did make Romulus many enemies in the city.

However, the one who ended up killing him was the one he claimed to love, Takara. The woman was enraged that Romulus had left her and André to take the fall for a robbery he committed. While André managed to escape arrest, the same could not be said for Takara. She was arrested and only got out of jail when André managed to get enough money to bail her out.

Takara pleaded with Romulus to tell the police the truth, but he refused. Romulus tried to attack Takara, planning to kill her and eliminate the risk of her possibly ruining his new life. In the ensuing chase around the temple, Romulus tripped and landed against the large bell. As he tried to stand, Takara grabbed the bell’s mallet and smashed his head between it and the bell. The sound of Romulus’s skull crushing as the bell rang will forever haunt Takara, but it's one of the prices she must pay for killing him.

As per her suspect appearance in Ring In The New Death, it is known that Ivy eats panettone.

Synopsis

Ivy is a baker and cookie seller for the famous Italian bakery Le Levain Roma. She briefly appears in Rowdy Rick's murder investigation when Argo and Issac question her about who bought gingerbread from her.

Later, on New Year's Eve, Ivy returned as a suspect in the murder of Romulus Fabbri after clues led Isaac and Maddie to her workplace. During her first interrogation, Ivy claimed not to know anything about the murder or Romulus but was shocked to hear the man was dead. She told the detectives that he had visited the bakery, and she served him cannolis with him leaving her a tip in return. She explained that he was charming and had promised to visit the bakery again, but unknown to Isaac and Maddie, Ivy was omitting some information from her statement.

Further into the investigation, Isaac and Maddie discover Ivy’s necklace in one of their crime scenes. When they questioned her about how it could have gotten there, Ivy admitted that Romulus had ripped the necklace off her neck and taken it after she refused to refund him. Ivy swore she hadn’t killed Romulus and planned to beg him to return the necklace after her shift. Luckily, it was proven that Ivy didn’t kill Romulus after the actual killer was arrested.

Ivy appeared one more time during that case’s additional investigation. When Maddie, Charlie and Jason visited the bakery, she fulfilled their request for some bomboloni. She gave them to the group for free as thanks for everything they had done and New Haven. Ivy invited them to come back and visit any time, and she would ensure treats would always be waiting for them!

I considered naming her Holly as I wanted a Christmas-themed name, but I associate that name with Holly Hopper, so I went with Ivy, from the song The Holly and The Ivy instead

Her surname, Noel, means Christmas in French

She loves cookies. Her favourite kinds are chocolate chip and gingerbread

Likewise, she always smells like freshly baked cookies

Patty was a young Irish immigrant in her mid-twenties with fair skin and green eyes. She kept her strawberry-blonde hair pulled into a bun with strands framing her face, and she had a white maid's cap. She wore a maid's uniform consisting of a modest black dress with puffy shoulders, brown shoes and white gloves.

Synopsis

Patty was the victim in Slash and Burn. She was an Irish immigrant who moved to Concordia a few years before the current time. She was employed as a maid for Oscar Trefusis and worked alongside the butler Colin James. Trefusis had confiscated her identification paperwork, preventing the woman from quitting and forcing her to be his slave. He paid almost nothing for her work and would order her to do the most horrible tasks, even if they were not usually her job.

While in Concordia, she became friends with Mary Patrick, a fellow Irish immigrant. While Patty didn't have much free time, when she did, she enjoyed spending it with Mary at the market. The older woman had a cart where she sold products from her farm, and sometimes, Patty helped her. When she could afford it, Patty would buy fresh homemade bread from Mary, who made some of the best soda bread in Concordia.

Patty also assists Mary in bringing her cousin Harriet and Daisy the cow to the city by lending her friend money, with the promise that Harriet would pay her back after her arrival. Patty planned to help the young girl find work, hopefully in a better place than where she worked. She didn't want to see another immigrant's dreams of a better life in America get crushed like hers had because of Trefusis. Harriet was so happy to be living in Concordia, and Patty didn't want to see the young woman lose the light in her eyes.

Leading up to her murder, she was involved in a brief relationship with Aidan Moran, but the relationship ended as quickly as it began. Patty found the sailor to be shallow and stupid. She considered him far from a gentleman and broke up with him after just one date. Of course, Aidan didn't take the rejection well, but Patty escaped before he could seriously hurt her.

During the fire in New Haven, Patty was murdered by her coworker Colin. She walked in on the butler attempting to steal from their employer and swore she would report Colin to Trefusis. Colin, fearing going back to jail, chased Patty into the burning streets of New Haven and stabbed her to death. And while he may have killed her to prevent going back to jail, in the end, Colin was arrested and sent to the very place he never wanted to be in again.

Events of Criminal Case

Season 4

Jason made his debut during the murder of his old coworker Romulus Fabrri. He and Romulus arrived in Concordia a few days before New Year's Day and shared an apartment until Jason moved in with Argo. Jason wanted to surprise his boyfriend on New Year's Eve since the Detective was under the impression the inventor wouldn't be immigrating until a few weeks later. While Romulus was busy trying to make a name for himself in Concordia, Jason was relaxing after spending so much time sailing and planning how to surprise Argo.

On New Year's Eve, just before he was going to surprise Argo, Maddie and Issac visited Jason's apartment to inform him of Romulus's murder. While they wouldn't call each other friends, they had worked together for years, so Jason was shocked and saddened by Romulus's death. Jason decided to wait and surprise Argo after the case had been closed and answered the Detectives' questions, knowing he would be proven innocent.

Even after Maddie and Isaac discovered that Romulus had been trying to steal Jason's work, he continued to deny any involvement in the murder. As he predicted, he was found innocent after the Detectives arrested Takara for killing Romulus. Now that the case was closed, he could proceed with surprising Argo and gifting him the music box he had made while sailing to Concordia. Of course, another wrench had to get thrown into his plans when he couldn't find the music box to show it to Charlie.

Thankfully, Maddie and Charlie helped him find the music box, and the latter assisted with its repairs. With the gift ready, Jason snuck it into Argo's office onboard Alto with Ember's help. The robotic dragon was able to fly to the second level, sneak into the Detective's office and leave the music box on Argo's desk without being seen. Jason and Ember returned to the airship just before midnight, perfectly timed for when Argo discovered the gift and asked the Squad if they knew where it came from.

Reuniting with Argo after over two months apart felt like heaven to Jason. He savoured holding him and kissing him even as their audience was watching. But it didn't matter how many people were watching because as the stroke of midnight hit and the fireworks lit up with the sky, Jason felt the Argo-sized hole in his heart being filled again. Later, following a small party with the Flying Squad, Argo and Jason collected the inventor's stuff from his apartment, returned the key to the property owner, and went home together to celebrate their reunion.

Armand Dupont mentioned Jason in season 3's original case, Fathers and Death. Dupont mentions his great-grandfather, Charlie Dupont, knowing an inventor who made music boxes; that man was Jason

He built Caspian and Ember. People always ask him how he created the automatons, but he refuses to reveal his secrets

Besides music boxes, Jason's inventions usually center around assistive technology to make life easier for people with disabilities. For example, he built Argo's crutches to be durable and multi-functional but also elegant to look at

He's fluent in Italian and Greek, as both languages were spoken heavily in his home when he was growing up

He can easily get lost in his work. More often than not, Argo has to remind him to take breaks, or else they won't happen until Jason inevitably passes out. Ember will make him take breaks, too, but she also loves helping him with his inventions, so she's been guilty of losing track of time, too…

He is a skilled welder and can solder metal together almost seamlessly

Argo is a young, beautiful man of below-average height with a slender figure. He has very androgynous features, so much so that he can be mistaken for either gender. His sharp eyes resemble melted bronze, and his hair is black as night, made of soft, loose curls trimmed to just brush his shoulders, while his skin is a warm shade of honey brown.

When working as a detective, he wears a black dress shirt with the top unbuttoned to expose his neck, a deep blue corset vest with lighter blue details and small bronze clasps down the front. His black pants are fitted but not tight, with the ends tucked into a pair of dark brown boots reaching just below his knees. Over it all, he wears an ocean-blue trench coat with bronze buttons. Brown leather arm guards are on his wrists to protect him when Caspian rests on his forearms/wrists. Lastly, he wears a black choker with a bronze nautilus shell pendant, small matching earrings, and goggles on the top of his head with elegant waves engraved into the metal surrounding the lenses.

Argo uses a pair of custom-made forearm crutches to assist in walking. They are made of brass-plated poles with copper handles and matching forearm cuffs. On the ends of the poles are copper covers with rubberized tips to stabilize when the crutches touch the ground. The poles are also carved with intricate wave engravings like the ones on Argo's goggles.

Argo suffers from Mal de Debarquement, also called "landing sickness," a rare disease which results in a near-constant feeling of motion, even when sitting or standing still. Think of the feeling of standing on a boat rocking in the waves; the rocking or bobbing movement Argo experiences is similar. It also results in a sense of imbalance and vertigo, among other symptoms that he suffers from. Argo has good days and bad ones where his symptoms are better or worse, respectively

He uses his crutches to help keep his balance while walking and standing still

While he can run, he'll only do so if necessary or if someone is with him and can stop him from running into anything or falling over

Reese is a chocolatier with rich, caramel skin, a head of bouncy short brown curls, and matching brown eyes. They wear colourful clothes consisting of a pink corset-like shirt, a purple sleeveless jacket, fitted black pants, tall teal boots and a small matching top hat attached to a headband. They also wear red lipstick, a silver charm bracelet of different types of candies and a choker with a silver chocolate-shaped pendant.

As per their suspect appearance in Murder From The Past, it is known that Reeses has read The Concordia Flying Squad: History of Justice, visits the opera and drinks wine.

Synopsis

Reese is a chocolatier and the CEO of Rochester Chocolates. They appeared as a suspect in Murder From The Past.

They grew up in Concordia and love their city with a passion. They always had an interest in learning Concordia's history and their family's legacy within it. And while they knew that some of their family members left behind better legacies than others, Reese is proud to be a descendant of Rockley Rochester.

From the moment they learned about their chocolate-obsessed ancestor, Reese knew they wanted to follow in his footsteps. They committed to learning everything they could about chocolate and candy making. They quickly discovered they had a natural gift for creating sweets, and it was no surprise to anyone when Reese set their sights on becoming the CEO of Rochester Chocolates one day.

When Reese went to university, they studied business while practicing their chocolate-making on the side. They were famous on campus for making the best chocolates and candles, and students would hire Reese to cater and make custom treats for events. With every order they fulfilled, Reese became more sure of their dream of ruining the chocolate factory.

After graduating from university and returning to Concordia, Reese began working at Rochester Chocolates. They started in a lower position as they wanted to start from the ground and work their way to the top. Eventually, they earned a management position and began gaining more authority in the company. The goal of becoming CEO was getting closer every day, and Reese couldn't wait to call themselves the boss.

In their personal life, Reese decided to try dating. But real-life dates never seemed to work out for them. People would learn their surname and immediately think they were a stuck-up snob or would try to take advantage of their wealth and influence in Concordia. After failed date after failed date, Reese was ready to give up on love. But before calling it quits, they decided to try online dating and see if they could find someone who would love them regardless of their famous family.

It was through online dating that they met Andrew Bontemps. The two began chatting through the dating app and talked about everything they had in common. They both liked Concordian history, chocolate, watching plays and other hobbies. Reese was nervous to tell Andrew their family name, especially after he revealed that he was a descendant of Issac Bontemps, but Andrew didn't care if Reese was a Rochester or not. He fell in love with their personality, sense of humour and desire to make people happy with their chocolates. So what if their last name was Rochester? Andrew loved Reese for Reese.

The couple kept in touch online, and Reese was pleasantly surprised when Andrew told them he was moving to Concordia. His transfer to the Concordia Police Department had been accepted, and he was going to become a detective just like his ancestor Issac. Reese was there to welcome Andrew to the city, and the couple celebrated by going on their first in-person date.

After spending so much time talking to him online, Reese was so happy to have Andrew living in Concordia. And life got even sweeter when Reese was promoted to CEO of Rochester Chocolates. Of course, they would need to spend time working underneath the current CEO before assuming the position, but they could handle that to achieve their dream.

And as life continued getting better and better, Reese decided they wanted to make theirs and Andrew's lives one by proposing to him. They got a beautiful ring and started planning the perfect day to lead to the proposal. But sadly, the surprise was ruined when Andrew discovered the ring and told Reese he wasn't ready to get married yet. Reese respected his decision and put the proposal plans on hold, promising to wait until they were both ready to pop the question.

But the question would never get to be asked. Andrew was killed because his killer held a stupid grudge against him and his family for something that happened during the age of The Flying Squad. Reese was furious that someone would kill Andrew because of something his ancestor did. He was so sweet, and Reese knew he would have done great things in life if he had the chance…

Even if Andrew were gone, his memory would live on through his work. The Concordia Flying Squad Preservation Society dedicated part of The Flying Squad Museum in his memory. Not only will people learn about the work The Flying Squad did to protect Concordia, but they will also learn about the man who helped preserve their legacy. Reese plans to be at the front of the crowd for the grand opening and will have countless sweets for people to enjoy, just like Andrew envisioned.
