Drew a Taz Ethersea map while listening to the first ep, got a little confused by the sea/land maps so on this one i put them together as one, since all the stuff they added to the sea can be seen from the surface.

Also had a lot of fun w the blink sharks but lets b wary of the jaws effect. The real, non mutated ones in our world are not out to get us and deserve their space and our respect. Also, I love them.

I will do more of these if ppl like them, may also do it digitally so its easy to share but i love using gold/silver leaf paints on maps so. Might stick w traditional

oh my god i just. ended up on this random very old post of mine. how did i get such specific things correct while ALSO being so so so so so incredibly wrong at rhe most basic level possible.

theory: spoilers ahead

ok like…i kept seeing variations of this on fb but my current theory is the umbrastaff doesnt CONTAIN Lup, the umbrastaff is Lup’s equivalent of Barry’s coin, it holds info for her to remember when she went from form to form, reminding her to trust barry, love barry…the issue? Lup, AKA Lucretia, was separated from the umbrastaff and couldnt get that message, decided the Barry and, by association, the RR’s were bad, and went rogue and created the BoB. Barry loves her and wants to find her, but because of some previous run-in, he knows she doesnt trust him anymore and needs to keep his distance from her. Im not sure what their relationship was, its possible they were The Twins or they could have been romantically involved, but I definitely think Lup is the Director and the Umbrastaff used to be hers, and that it was her body in Wave Echo Lake that Taako took it from after she had died and her lich form found a new body and lost all her memories

the thing they dont tell you about listening to the adventure zone for the first time is that you'll miss them for the rest of your life. taako magnus and merle will be held in your heart wherever you go. when you binge it and get caught up to the eleventh hour in 2016 and you're a sophomore in high school shoving your sweatshirt sleeve in your mouth to stop yourself from laughing you have no idea that you'll be coming up on christmas 2022 and it's been six years and a goblin that looks like common and sounds like kelsey grammer will still make you laugh. you hear "are you naming your god damn wizard taako?" and that's it for you. you're in for life.

devos like. entire characterization. the way he was raised in isolation, grew up, and was like "fuck this! if im gonna be isolated, ill do it myself! (is a huge dickhead to all his friends)" like all he knows is being alone so much so that even when hes surrounded by friends hes still subconsciously trying to be alone being alone is his greatest comfort and also the thing he fears the most devo spent the entire show pushing away his own friends and family only to split a new universe specifically by inviting everyone to bring their friends and family with them

What things in Ethersea can you not stop thinking about/drive you insane?

I may be cooking together a very big video essay and am just looking for input to cover as many bases as I can.
