As a reminder, the animated Wonder Woman film from 2009 made $2M on release and is, I believe, in the top 5 “all time” sales for DCAU movies, and it was deemed a disappointment by the WB higher ups and given no sequel, etc etc.

When people talk about the success of the JLxRWBY movies, just keep in mind the unrealistic bar WB has for anything not live-action.

I still think my biggest bummer with V9 is that — by the logic of the Ever After — episode 4 established that WBY didn’t need to be there. And the speeches they give to their shadow-selves are ones they could have given three volumes ago.

been seeing alot of backlash against yang being butch on twitter lately and its disheartening :( makes it really hard to celebrate this rep when the fandom does its darnedest to push back against it I don't know what it will take at this point for people to accept she's canonically masc 😕

Take heart that Barbara recently spoke (unprompted) on a panel that she wanted Yang to lean into a more butch aesthetic and acknowledged that Yang has always been more masc.
