After a lot of thought and personal reflection, I’ve decided to stop using the term lesbian to describe myself. I don’t really feel the need to explain myself here, but to make a long story short I’m not attracted to cis women outside of aesthetics, nor am I attracted to cis men. I really only experience true sexual attraction for other nonbinary and genderqueer people, and occasionally some transgender people. And while I support and love my nonbinary siblings who identify as lesbians, my personal identity as a nonbinary person has led to me no longer being comfortable identifying as a lesbian. To be clear, I don’t feel like the fact that I’m not attracted to women or men means that I can’t have sex with them. Sex does not have to be based off attraction to be consensual, and if I vibe with someone I don’t want labels to keep me from having sex with them. I just don’t want to base my labels based off who I would and would not sleep with.
