One of my favorite things about the DnD movie is that it had a level of emotional and psychological depth to it that you never see in major Hollywood films, but that stories written by actual people are laden with.
Like, the way Holga's ex told her he'd put his heart into making her a new home to make up for the fact that she'd been thrown out of hers for loving him, but she could never move on? I don't remember the last time I saw a film that reminded its audience of the importance of letting go and moving on! And this film had that message multiple times!!
It captured the group therapy vibe that a lot of DnD games have, which is one of my favorite reasons to play! I can't believe how impressed I was with this film.
