In promotional photos Fashionista #3 from 2015 originally had a long sleeve top, yellow high heel shoes and pastel blue and pink mixed into her blond hair. The produced doll has short sleeves, black flats and no blue in her hair. The style of the skirt might also be slightly different (or maybe she just wears it differently).

In the Barbie Fashionistas dress up game for IOS, the 2015 Fashionistas are shown on fully jointed bodies, even though the actual dolls only have basic articulation.

The ‘90s Barbie Marvel comic occasionally featured characters wearing actual Barbie fashions, but more often than not they had completely different color schemes. In issue 1 January 1991 “Dirty Dancing”, Dance Club Barbie makes an appearance, but her dress is green rather than white/pink/black. On an advertisement page it appears again, but in pink and purple. An odd smiling Skipper wearing a Skipper Paint & Dazzle Fashion. It seems they put a Stacie head on a Skipper body (I believe it’s Party ‘n Play Stacie’s head).

Like Rappin’ Rockin’, Rollerblade Teresa is shown in the 1992 Mattel toy fair catalog with the Steffie face, rather than the Teresa face the doll ended up getting.

In the 1992 Mattel toy fair catalog Rappin' Rockin' Teresa was shown with the Steffie face, but would be released with the then new Teresa face.

The 1995 Mattel toy fair catalog shows the Dance Moves Barbie dolls wearing very different outfits from the produced versions. The outfits came from the Sing & Dance Barbie, another doll shown in the same catalog, which was ultimately not released. This doll was to be sound activated and would dance by herself to music. The original lineup advertised was blonde Barbie, black Barbie, Teresa and Midge. However, Midge was only released in Europe and the black Barbie was only released in the US (as is the norm). Both Midge and black Barbie wore blue.
