In regards to Digital Fireside, I would say possibly the only episode relative-adjacent to the ARG is the one where they read Ben Drowned fanfiction. It’s generally fun trivia, but there is a point in there where he describes, what I guess could be an earlier idea for the character than Ben panned out being in arc 3, where he mentions he sees Ben as a "little shit” (I believe the words he used) that died at an age before kids really develop a sense of right and wrong.

(As a sidenote this also reminded me that there is a video out there of him accidentally saying “Matt” instead of “Jadusable” which led to some speculation as well but I can’t recall what video that is. I don’t think it was part of digital fireside. There’s also a video of him pronouncing Jadusable a different way every time which is fun trivia)

...Now that the fun stuff is out of the way, the most controversial Digital Fireside is in relation to the DMT diaries thing. To my recollection the DMT Diaries were him going to a DMT retreat headed by Chris Cantelmo (I didn’t know the dude at the time but apparently he was the head of a cult called Cantelmoism) and then he later had him on the podcast talking about how he cured brain cancer with DMT. I’m certain he made an apology for that at some point saying like, he wanted to hear the guy out and have an open mind and that by having someone on the podcast that doesn’t mean he endorses what they are saying (paraphrasing what I’ve heard because I can’t find it offhand). But he did give the guy a platform, and the video is still up. (This post is long enough and i didn’t read all of this article but I found out searching for the name of Cantelmoism again that Vice put out an article abt it and Jad is literally named and his podcast is embedded in the article abt the cult. You can’t make this shit up.)
