Saturday and Sunday are the only days I can see the sky while it's still blue. It doesn't sound great when worded like that, but I don't really mind. Just have been busy with work, so there isn't time to worry about things like going out for a walk.

For now, just focusing on small things like finding a moment's peace while making a morning cup of coffee.

Need to muster up the discipline to study after work.

after lunch, stopped at a new coffee shop. it was on the 2nd floor of an art exhibition place, so after enjoying some coffee got to enjoy checking out the works of a local artist.

acidic and fruity is the kind of coffee I like the best, so selected Ethiopian beans for the expresso and Rwanda beans for the black latte.

it's rare to find a cafe with such a large sitting area. and despite the great coffee, there wasn't a single other customer in the shop.

taking handwritten notes during meetings is just so much faster than typing. Monday afternoons are just meeting after meeting. well, I guess most days are like that.

an a6 size notebook really isn't enough.

had to go into the office today for another interview with the health center. they released me from my limit on overtime, but still want to do another followup around golden week.

although it was so difficult to get up when my alarm went off this morning, once I arrived at the office I felt ok. honestly, I guess it was refreshing working there. years of telework gets tiring after a while.

kaldi hasn't really held any discount campaigns recently, so I picked up coffee beans from Muji over the weekend.

for 550 yen, they are very decent. next time I want to try their decaf beans.

would have loved to go in and check it out, but the entrance ticket was nearly 3,000 yen..

in the process of building a house. out of all of the house makers, Ichijo (一条工務店）seems to have the best balance of quality vs design vs price. we are going to proceed with signing a tentative contract so we can begin looking for land.

I'm not sure if fear outweighs excitement in this case.

Since starting work again, these past few weeks have passed by in a blur. To help with the adjustment back to work, I'm not allowed to do any overtime this month, so there's been time to actually live a bit after 17:30, like go outside to take walks and so on.

Once the overtime restriction is taken away next month, I have a feeling there won't be time to enjoy evening walks or painting sessions anymore...

followed our tradition of visiting an aquarium for the new year. as usual, most places were closed for the holiday, so we ended up at the usual parfait place for dinner.
