Would a hivewing silkwing or leaf wing hybrid with any of the other dragons often result in the normal bat like or leathery wings normally or is it possible for a hybrid to have the other more insect or leaf looking wings? Say if it was a mud wing and a leaf wing hybrid and they got these wings because they are so heavy would they be unable to fly?
I think itโ€™d be depending on how dominant the genes for the bug or leaf wing-type is, but thereโ€™d definitely be a chance to get the insect wing on a heavier dragon, and have that one be land bound or only able to glide! With how big the egg clutches for Mudwings seem to be, Iโ€™d definitely say thereโ€™d be a chance of at least one dragonet winding up in a situation like that.
For some tribes, though, the odds of having the leaf or insect wings would really benefit them, like a Rainwing/Leafwing hybrid inheriting leaf wings to better help them soak up sunrays!ย

Hive/Silks can have stingers in their antennae, and maybe venomous silk if they develop silk glands at all. They usually have normal wings, and sometimes they have wingbuds, but due to venomous or even no silk glands, they don't metamorphosize normally and they need their parents' help if they need Metamorphosis. And even then, if they're venomsilks, their smaller silk glands would make them require help with their cocoons, resulting in mottled silver/green(?) cocoons.

Ice/RainWing hybrids look like piebald RainWings, and their venom isn't actually venom, it's extremely freezing liquid that can cause immediate frostbite

Rainwings have a festival all about oral storytelling, it last for 2 weeks and they have their own folktales and make up their own stories to tell too.

You know the webbed spines Seawing's have on their backs? They remind me of a Rainwing's fin thing on their cheek, and I've always thought Rain/Sea hybrids would have webbed spines on their backs like a Seawing, but they also convey the dragon's emotions. Curious and/or happy dragons' spines would be held higher, while an upset hybrid's would lie almost flat on their back.

A second generation hybrid (a hybrid with at least one hybrid parent) of a Sand/Rain/Leaf mixture could quite literally live off of sunshine. They store any glucose they produce where SandWing venom is often stored. If they inject glucose into others they can energize others without concocting some kind of solution made from plants. A Sand/Rain/Leaf/Hive mixture might be able to energize and control other dragons by injecting glucose into their target

A SandWing/HiveWing hybrid whose HiveWing parent had a tail stinger would also inherit the stinger, but it would be near the base of their SandWing stinger. However, there are occasions where the hybrid receives no stingers at all, and the stinger type of their mother's tribe is still in their genetic code. These hybrids are a pleasing color of yellow-orange or gold, and their eyes would most likely be black with flecks of amber within the irises

In Rainwing's past "glory days", they used their changing scales to secretly signal messages such as "hold position", or "fire darts now" during battle. They also used mimics of various bird calls for the same purpose, although today these are used more for games. Queen Glory is currently trying to revive these nearly lost traditions, alongside elder Raingwings like Handsom and Grandeur.

Ice/Sand hybrids are very rare due to the temperature adjustment of the body, this also make their immune system very weak and fragile, most die but if they survive they tend to be scrawny and very sickly, they dont have any type of breath if they try to breathe fire or ice it's more of a wheeze than anything. They are not immune to their own venom due to clashing genes and must be careful.

Leaf/Hive hybrids with recessive animus genes can sometimes grow spikes similar to the Sandbox Tree (AKA โ€œDynamite Treeโ€). These spikes, similar to the tree itself, can mature and explode at 150 MPH at will. There is a famous hybrid serial killer who killed via this method.

Icewing/Skywing hybrids, out of all the hybrids, tend to have a trying time with things. They are generally the most genetically unstable, due to their vast differences on all fronts, and their offspring donโ€™t tend to be terribly healthy thoughout their lives.ย
If a dragonet makes it far enough in live for their health to stabilize, though, they tend to lack many of the adaptations their parents had. Regardless of what physical varieties they might get, in most situations, the posession of both fire breath and ice breath cancel each-other out, due to the abilities being produced from the same areas of the body, generally resulting in only the ability to breathe fog or steam.
Some Ice/Sky hybrids use this to their advantage, though, as such an ability would aid in any work that needs the utmost discretion, such as assassins or spywork. Some have even used it for artful displays, after eating fruits or minerals with certain pigments to tint the fog. They arenโ€™t as combat-adept asย  their fellow dragons, but they make due in other aspects of life.

Although incredibly rare, a Hive/Mud hybrid can create a literal hivemind with their siblings. The bigwings of the siblings would be the one who creates this.

What if Ice/RainWing hybrids had reflective scales, like ice or a mirror? Or maybe they can still change colors, but the colors are just really, really pale. I imagine that IceWings would reject a hybrid, especially from a tribe so radically different from them, but the RainWings would love them.
