#LMP004 - "La vie en Rose" - 📸: @kryptobanana - Rapinoe, Morgan, Naeher, Sauerbrunn... so many amazing players, so many wonderful performances that helped lift the @uswnt to where it went... but we need to talk specifically about @lavellerose. Rose Fuckin' Lavelle. What a tremendous tournament she had. I don't ever really put expectations on players, preferring to let them show me what they're capable of, but for a lack of a better word, she exceeded my expectations. She absolutely destroyed them. She came into that Cup and bossed it, and she impressed the hell out of me. And that goal in the Final was the icing on the cake. Take a bow, Ms. Lavelle. You've made it... on the grandest stage possible... you made it, and I can't wait to see what you do next. The future of this team is in good hands. - I want to give the loudest of shoutouts to @kryptobanana. I'm sure at this point or at some point soon, she'll grow tired of me gushing over her work, but it's frankly ridiculous, and it has been for a while. The stories you tell, the stories you share and shed light on with your photography, are honestly just breathtaking. It's been an honor and a pleasure to take those journeys with you and your lens. You're absolutely incredible, and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to use your masterpieces for my little projects. Thank you! 😊❤️ - I had a lot of fun making this piece. If I'm honest, it sort of made itself, I think. Once the photo was placed, all of the little touches around it really started to come together rather quickly. Pun fullt intended, I went with a "rose gold" kind of gradient map. I'm not sure how well that comes across, but I enjoyed playing with the colors and layers that I used, and I'm actually really happy with how this turned out. - I hope y'all like it! Much love, Bless! 😊❤️ #woso #womensfootball #womenssoccer #nwsl #washingtonspirit #uswnt #oosa #onenationoneteam #roselavelle | #photoshop #graphicdesign #graphicdesigncentral #designfeed #artoftheday #instaart #art #poster | #footballdesign #soccerdesign #sportsdesign #sportsedit #socceredits #football #soccer https://www.instagram.com/p/BztbW2lFquk/?igshid=19n1x923le8h6

"Nadie Se Arrepiente De Ser Valiente" Bianca is someone I swear I've wanted to do work for since like the first time I ever saw her (which was like four years ago) and just could never find the right resources for. I love her, man. She's just such a smart, fun, talented, and most importantly -- brave, person. She's great and she inspires me so much. I'm really thankful that everything finally fell into place for this one! Also, of course, I want to extend a huge congratulations to the Mexican women's national team for their huge win down in Barranquilla a few days ago. I honestly hadn't known that the final was on the same night that I uploaded the Katie Johnson piece, but now I'd like to think I'm some sort of wizard and I, in some small way, helped them achieve this victory, and you can't take that away from me!

"Bailo Como Gringa, Juego Como Mexicana"
Katie Jay, Katie Jay, oh the one who got away. Yes, I'm aware that Katie Johnson plays for Sky Blue now, but allow me this moment to reflect on a player I really love, and one I hope returns to Royal Blue real soon. I actually ended up watching back all of the goals she scored for us, and that was really fun. It was hard to settle on one favorite, though. I guess by circumstance and celebration the 2-1 against Chicago is an easy pick, but I still have a huge soft spot for her 2-0 goal against Houston. 'Spose you can't go wrong with either, right?
Side note, if any of you have Instagram, follow @blesstherebel there. Hopefully I fuckin' remember to post my pieces here in the future, but they'll for sure be up there first.

"Half Century And Counting"
So many freakin' goals! What else can be said about Sam Kerr that hasn't been said to death at this point? Simply put, she's just such an immensely talented footballer, and still so young! I wonder how many goals she's gonna have by the end of her career?

Double Marta! Hey, and this looks exactly like my Amy Rodriguez piece! Not a series or anything, but in the process of looking up resources for the other Marta piece, I stumbled across this photo and I wanted to use it.

"A Deusa Do Gol"
Is there really anything I could possibly say about Marta that hasn't been said to death already? Simply put, she's one of the greatest footballers in the history of the universe. There are probably little boys and girls on Venus right now that dream of someday reaching the heights that she has.

"Fan The Flames Fuel The Fire"
I've wanted to make a piece for Allie Long since day one, and never got around to it. I love her so much! She's such an amazing player, and I'm hyped that she's gotten on the scoresheet a few times already. Here's to a gang more goals!

"Same As It Ever Was"
Old piece done for the win against Sky Blue back in May. What a performance from Pinoe... I mean, come on, now... I live to see her score a goal, and even more to see her celebrate one! An excellent way to close out that night, haha!

"And In Case You Forgot..."
I'm the king! How fitting that she's royalty now, eh? I love A-Rod to death. She is such an incredible player, and although she is the direct cause of some very profound, personal heartbreak, I legit got emotional when she came back. I can't wait for her to cleave my heart out again, haha. Couldn't decide which version I liked better, so I decided to just post both.

“Reign Over All” - Our goal is simple…
I actually wanted to have this done BEFORE day one, but as luck would have it, I got sidetracked for a while, and then I ended up slicing my palm open that very night like an idiot. Not fun times… but fuck it we got the win.
I made a piece under this title years ago, I’ve always wanted to make another, so it feels nice to finally get around to updating it and bringing it back after so long. It was a simple thing then, so here’s another simple thing ‘cause my hand is still pretty tender.
Anyway, hope ya’ll like. Side note, all work done on this was done while wearing my brand new Jess Fishlock jersey, made me feel like a total badass! Let it Reign, baby!

5/5 - "One Eighty Three" - "To the middle! And there's one! Wambach! One-nothing US! This time she made sure she had it, beat her player with authority. Her one hundred eighty-third international goal, her fourteenth World Cup goal." Who else to finish this series off with but @abbywambach. What can you even say about her that hasn't been said, shown and proven to death... such an amazing player, such a competitive spirit and such a driving force for the team for such a long time. It was an honor to watch her perform. Fun fact, after she retired, I had all of the videos made in tribute — all of the highlights, interviews, the looks-back - in a playlist on YouTube that I couldn't bring myself to watch until more than a year later, haha. True story. Seeing her go fucking hurt, dude. I still miss seeing her out on the pitch. Anywho, it was really fun and nostalgic going back and reliving these moments. Thank you everyone for looking and liking, hope ya'll enjoyed it.

4/5 - “She’s Just Special” - “Spinning is Rapinoe, shooting — and it’s deflected! And the US has scored! They take a one to nothing lead. Megan Rapinoe — she’s just special.”
And fourth is Megan Rapinoe. The quote is commentary from after she scored the first goal against Australia. I was really happy when it went in cause, duh now we’re winning, but I just love any time Pinoe does anything, really. She’s just such a technically gifted player, and such an inspiration to me personally as a person and player to me, so seeing her create a play like that, and celebrate a goal as exuberantly as she always does, it’s such a terrific feeling. (I’m also a Reign diehard, so that helps haha)

3/5 - "World Class" - "Lloyd, with Morgan streaking — she's chipping the goalkeeper! Off the post and in! Hat-trick for Lloyd! This is absolutely world class!" Third up in this series is Carli Lloyd. The quote is, of course, the reaction that ridiculous goal she scored against Japan. Does everyone remember where they were when it happened? I do, and I remember the 3 billion messages I got on Skype from friends screaming "OHMYGODDIDYOUSEETHAT!?". Yes, yes, I did see that, as a matter of fact, thank you for notifying me. If you haven't noticed by now that I was the one actually sending those messages, you don't know me very well, because I totally did that, because the goal was totally insane and I totally lost my shit when it went in. Good times. Also, as an aside, messing around with this photo for a completely different project was what actually inspired me to start this series in the first place, and it was the first one I completed despite it being third on the list (I'm releasing these in number order, if anyone cared to know that information.)

2/5 - "Her First Is A Beauty" - "Lloyd on the dribble, looks, cuts, shot! Goal! Two-nothing US! Kelley O'Hara steps in front of Kemme and it's in the back of the net! (Her) first international goal is a beauty." Up next in this little World Cup series is Kelley O'Hara. The quote in the back is of course from when she scored against Germany. I get chills every time I watch that goal go in. Just the elegance of how she got in position and rose to meet the ball, seeing that visceral reaction from her in celebration... it was beautiful... and it's everything I love about sports, especially at the highest level. As an aside, the whole point of this series like overexposure, combined with mist, weather and grain... but MAN was this photo a bitch to color grade, haha!

1/5 - “Focused” - “Kellond-Knight sending it in! Save Solo! Incredible! Well, if anyone was wondering how Solo would be today in terms of focus after that additional news broke yesterday, you don’t have to worry - she is focused. For sure.”
I’ve been rewatching a lot of 2015 World Cup stuff recently. I still can’t get over how amazing it all was - such an unforgettable experience, and I realize now that I never got around to properly commemorating the win. So here’s the start of a little series, celebrating some of my favorite moments. This one is for Hope Solo, the greatest goalkeeper to have been formed within the fabric of the multiverse. She inspires me so much, whether with her immense skill and determination, or her “not taking any crap” attitude, she reminds me to always speak out and speak up for myself and to unabashedly BE myself. The quote in the back was commentary taken from the first match against Australia, a moment in time that showed me that even when people were so clearly (and conveniently) out to get her, she was centered - and focused on the pitch, and on being a fucking boss out on it.
Inspired by a slew of letterers and calligraphers, and some really old postcards I found, here ya go. Hope ya’ll like! (I’m keenly aware that this page has been hella inactive for a while, something I hope to change soon - just wanted the three people who still follow me to know that this page is still around and kicking)

“Tag, You’re It”
Funny, only two days ago I was playing with Germany on FIFA and you scored in the second period of extra time to win against France. Not unlike the awesome goals you’ve actually scored. It’s been a genuine pleasure to watch you play. So thank you, Ms. Mittag, for the 50 goals, for the hundreds of caps, for the tremendous performances and most of all for the inspiration you’ve given girls, not just in Germany, but all over the world, to pursue their footballing dreams. You are a legend!

“Make Your (Den) Mark”
Can’t forget about the runners up! I think it’s easy to forget second place after the champions are crowned, so I wanted to make a little something to celebrate Denmark’s incredible run in the Euro. Here’s to Nadi and the rest of the Danish Dynamite. Can’t wait to see what other waves the girls make going forward.
Again, a billion thanks to the great @diriedits for both helping in the creative process, and for giving this piece such a fantastically punny name. I love it more every time I say it. If you haven’t checked his stuff out yet, I implore anyone who sees this to do so immediately.
Also, a friendly reminder, if anyone has any requests, whether it be player, club or country - don’t hesitate to shoot me an ask. I’m not the most punctual person, but I’ll try my best. Bless!
