Are there any other fics where David and Patrick are physically fine, but grapple with loss or significant change in their lives? I know there's the delilahmcmuffin fic where Johnny dies, too.

Nice Ask Week! What’s your favorite story you’ve ever read (published, fic, whatever), and your favorite one you’ve ever told?

Hi Courtney! I've been sitting on this one because it's so hard to answer! How am I supposed to choose a favourite thing I've ever read and I've read so many incredible stories?

My favourite story I've ever told is easy - my RWRB lawyer au. It's hands down my best storytelling, has some of my favourite passages of my own writing in it and I'm very proud of it.

As for favourite story I've ever read, I'm going to limit myself to fic because this is tumblr and say that it's Favored Nations by @blueink3 which is a trilogy of fics telling the story of theatre director!David and musician-turned-actor!Patrick and it's just one of the best slow burns I've ever read.

Bound: Favored Nations by @blueink3

This was a fun one! This fic is beloved in the Schitt's Creek fandom, for good reason. It's one of the few times I've read along with a WIP and didn't wait until the end. I would eagerly await the release of each new chapter on Sunday. I knew I'd be binding it at some point, it's too good not to.

It's also a CHONK. 270k words and 720ish pages. That's 23 8-page signatures.

A few firsts for this one:

First time using real, purchased bookcloth. Not sure I want to go back to the homemade kind, but seeing as bookcloth isn't cheap nor easy to get, that's not realistic.

It was also the first time I used an oxford hollow. I thought it would help support the massive heft of this volume. Time will tell, I suppose! I followed the tutorial in this excellent video.

And despite my best intentions, it was my first time using the foil quill on the cover because HTV is the devil and the cover got all forked up but I just leaned into it a bit and used the foil quill to fill in bits, and also to do the spine.

Hi there! I love your work, and have been discovering podficced versions of your stories recently. Do you know if anyone is working on Favored Nations? Being able to listen to my favorites when i can't read - especially on nights when I can't sleep or while dealing with a migraine - is fantastic. (P.S. do you like people to reach out to you if they want to podfic or is that something you don't care about? I'm thinking about trying it out with some of my shorter works but am unsure on general etiquette)

And I'm pretty sure that's the general etiquette (at least it has been with the podficcers that I've encountered). No one has reached out to attempt Favored Nations yet (which, I don't blame them, it's a beast), but if you do start on your own, good luck and have fun!

Oh my goodness! THANK YOU. And I'm so sorry I'm so late to reply. Life has been wild and I haven't been on here on all, but I just got back from a proper vacation so my brain and my heart are happy for the time being.

This was just the loveliest note to come back to. I appreciate it more than I can say. I hope to have more words for you soon. A real life writing project that took precedence is over for the moment, so I'm hoping to get back to the fun stuff.
