This may be an unpopular opinion, but just because you’re having trouble with your tarot readings doesn’t mean you need to cleanse your deck.
I treat my decks like cast iron, the more you use them the more they are seasoned and the better they work. Cleansing your deck strips away that magical seasoning and you’re starting from square one.
There is a time and place for cleansing, but it’s not every month. The last actual cleanse I did on a deck was 3-4 years ago, and the problem came right back (my rider Waite is sassy and likes to only give reversals, I’ve learned to just live with it). Cleansing is my last resort and I think too many people jump to it when there are a lot of other ways to troubleshoot.
Magical sterility bothers me, let some funk in.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
BANISHING
Banishing is far more specific and direct than warding.
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
WHY IS IT USED?
Banishing is used to get rid of a particulur energy, spirit, or person. Think carefully before banishing, as it's a strong form of defensive magic.
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
BANISHING METHODS
USE THE ELEMENTS
burn a slip of paper with your target's name on it
throw a leaf with your target's name on it into a running river/stream
burn corresponding herbs and pass the smoke through your space
CANDLES
anoint your candle with corresponding herbs and oils, then burn it
when the candle has burnt out. the banishing is complete
SIGILS
make your own banishing sigil find one that resonates with you
place it in the space or on the item you are banishing energy from
HERBS + TINCTURES
use herbal smoke to force energy out of a space or object
make a spray or herbal tineture to sprinkle around your home
FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION
use the method that calls to you
never use a method that feels wrong or that you haven't researched thoroughly

WARDING
Warding is a gentler form of defensive magic that is used in a more general sense.
🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮
WHY IS IT USED?
Warding is used to protect and guard from negative energies of any kind - it redirects energy away from you or your space.
🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮
WARDING METHODS
VISUALIZATION
use your intention and energy to visualize a powerful barrier of protecting light around yourself or your space for more info on ENERGETIC PROTECTION click HERE
GUARDIANS
create a guardian to guard your home or space from negative energies
use a small object, enchant it with your intention, and keep it in a safe, permanent place

✶*✧Introduction to Spell Sealing✧*✶
Everything must come to an end.
This is an area of spellcraft that doesn’t get a lot of publicity because for most people it just becomes a natural part of the process.  However, if you want to mix up how you do it, try something new, or otherwise let go of the way you were originally taught, this might be a good resource for performing rituals!
What are Sealed Spells?
In the context of magic you usually hear about sealing and binding like binding a person or something from being able to do something.  Here we're talking more like a binding contract.  This is a binding or seal locks in an action or intent.  It is binding in the way an agreement is binding.  You have given it firm parameters that it must follow and you have endeavored to finalize the action.  You have provided certainty, locked in your answer, sealed the deal.
The benefits of this are inherent in the finality.  You have a set thing that now is much harder to alter and is much harder to waver in its purpose.  This is no longer some multi-purpose object.  It has varitably been christened for this and this alone.  The work to undo it will be just as rigorous as the work to do it in the first place.  A light cleansing of your materials afterwards might not be enough.  You're gonna need the spiritual bleach.
To some extent you might just feel that something needs to be finalized.  If you feel it in your gut like you need something to formally end the working, these are what you might be looking for.
More Common Than You Think
This might be more familiar to you than you would initially think.  Signing your name on something at the end is a common one, but even in a ritual sphere there are many examples.  This is going to be your “so mote it be”, your “Amen”, and your other declarations of finality.  Even purely secular situations often have rituals of finality.  I think you’ll find that when these things are left out, there is sometimes a feeling of the energy hanging in the air.  In a lot of ways it does not feel right.  Whether this is the social convention of signaling to everything and everyone present that the ritual has come to a conclusion, or just to announce you’re finished, there is some power to it.
Types of Seals
There are several different ways to express finality in your workings.  Here are just a few examples.
Shutting the Door and Sealing the Envelope
If your work involves some kind of lid or package, you can physically seal it.  Whether this is corking a jar, sealing with wax, tying a string around something etc.  If this is a possibility it is a good way to finalize a spell.
Written and Spoken Seals
Whether this is through signing something like you might finalize a formal contract or expressing that it is finalized verbally.  A few examples of this are listed above that you may have heard before, but there is really nothing stopping you from making your own.
Kiss Seals
Sealing with a kiss.  Kissing something to finalize has historical precedent and takes no extra tools to complete besides your lips.  Whether this is physically using your lips or the other means, this is one option for a quick seal.  Just don’t kiss poison.
Burning, Burying, and Bestrewing
Few things are more final than destruction.  Once you’ve set the flame, you’ve pretty much confined what you’ve set on fire to that purpose forever.  Burying something in the ground would be another example of this.  Whether you feel the finality is from returning it to the earth, or because you are sealing it in a tomb of soul, this will certainly signal that it is done.  Some feel like things are not complete until they’ve scattered the ashes, in which case throwing something to the wind could be your version of finality.
Whether this is through signing something like you might finalize a formal contract or expressing that it is finalized verbally.  A few examples of this are listed above that you may have heard before, but there is really nothing stopping you from making your own.
Sigil Seals
An extension of the written or spoken seals are sigil seals.  It accomplishes much the same thing, but can be a little more formal.  Some might think this is kind of a stretch, but wax seals, like what might go on a letter, could fall into this category, technically.

Sometimes, a home protection spell is as simple as drawing a sigil in kids' chalk in the sun, putting a nice rock on top of it until the sun goes down, and then putting that rock on a table in your house

Spiritual Hygiene
Spiritual hygiene is basically keeping yourself, cleansed, protected and grounded spiritually. People tend to try and do this through daily practices, which for some can be hard to upkeep. As someone with depression and can be lazy at times- sticking to routines can be difficult for me. So here’s some “basics” you can try to slowly add to your day to day that will give you a regular spiritual hygiene routine.
Cleanse yourself when you shower: This can be as simple as asking the water to cleanse you while you shower. Sometimes showering can be hard- for times like this i recommend a cleansing spray. Quick and fairly low spoons. But if you want to put more energy into this step you can enchant your soap/body wash for cleansing, hang eucalyptus above your shower and ask it to cleanse you, make a shower sachet, use spellcrafted oils for cleansing, ect.
Enchant your jewelry and/or skincare for protection: Obviously this one is for when you feel up to doing an actual spell. But, once its done you can just put your jewelry or skincare on for the day and be good to go. Every once in awhile take a moment to check in with your jewelry/items and see if it needs to be cleansed (or make a jewelry cleansing bowl) or needs to be re-enchanted.
Ground yourself when you wake up: once you wake up take even a minute to ground and center yourself. This works both if youre a person like myself who needs to lay in bed for a few minutes before getting up, or if youre a crazy person whos ready to go right away.
Even doing these three things through the week will help build you a strong spiritual hygiene routine and daily practice. Remember to take your time when building a daily practice, and forgive yourself if it’s not done everyday. ✨🫶🏻

Common Food 🍋 Magical Properties
Lemon
Tumblr media
Purification, love, and friendship are just a few of the most popular uses for lemon in magical practices. As well as longevity. It’s most associated with summertime, and with its bright yellow color and summertime associations you’d think it’d also correspond with the sun, but it’s actual planetary correspondence is the moon.
🍋 You can add a slice of lemon to your moon water, to use for cleansing second hand items, charms and other objects.
🍋 Add a slice of lemon to tea being shared among friends to strengthen the bonds of friendship, or in a purification or cleansing tea.
🍋 Hang dried lemon slices to bring blessings and good luck into your home.
🍋 You can use lemon peels (and the flowers from lemon trees) in love spells; most notably in spells involving platonic love.
🍋 Add dried crushed lemon peels to any poppet for magic related to friendship, blessings, luck, happiness, and self love.
🍋 Add lemon to your bath during a full moon to help boost manifestation spells or rituals. You can also do this when making moon water too.
🍋 Use lemon seeds in spells intended to “grow” or manifest something related to love or friendship. Or in spells that you foresee will take a bit of time to manifest.
Lemon is also known for being high in vitamin C, which helps boost your immune system. It’s used in teas and elixirs to help fight against common colds and flu. It’s high in dietary fiber so it’s also known to help aid in healthy digestion. It’s high vitamin C content also helps promote a healthy heart and liver.
Whether you’re making tea, having a bath, or using poppet magic lemons can be used in a wide variety of ways from the mundane to the magical.

Fraiskette - Folk Magic
Tumblr media
Let’s talk more Folk Magic: the Fraiskette
Look at this gorgeous BEAST of a fraiskette she’s so beautiful…..
What is a fraiskette?
Fraiskette are necklaces strewn with amulets and protective charms given to pregnant women and newborn children to ensure a healthy childbirth and early life.
They originate from Germany (specifically Bavaria)
What makes a Fraiskette?
Most fraiskette are made of a red string or red ribbon base
They include various organic charms like teeth, claws, horns, antlers, beaks and even dried animal feet
They also have mineral/rock charms. The one above features jasper, agate and a malachite heart, as well as Donar Stones and fossilized coral and snail shells.
Finally, the include sentimental and religious amulets. The largest pictured above is a Breverl, but also keys, arrows, vials of Walpurgis-oil, small bells and brass depictions of the Mother Mary.
How were they used?
Each of the charms on the fraiskette corresponded to some medicinal or spiritual use.
The eagle talons we’re used to imbue courage to the user
The wolf and deer teeth were used to assist in teething
The Martin feet were used against rheumatism and cramps
The moles feet were used against seizures as well as cramps
The horse hair was used to aid in seizures
Snails shells for protection
The inorganic materials like red stones (amber, jasper, agate) were used specifically against menstrual cramps
Coral was used against blood disease (and is pretty significant as a protection charm in Dutch Magic)
Malachite was used as a stone against rashes and cravings
The fossilized shells are for protection of the bones
The Donar stones are for protection from lightning strikes and seizures
These Necklaces would be put on the Bedpost or worn to Ward away Various Illnesses.

Hey witchblr, long time no see.
I came back after months of pain and hardships, now trying to reconnect with my craft.
Tbh I wasn't planning on coming back anytime soon because I'm too drained but something curious happened, and I think it was a sign to begin again:
So, I got a job (finally) at a cultural center, I'm kinda like a guide, I'm supposed to tell people about the exhibitions. And, one day, I was speaking with one of the security girls and she tells me: "hey, can I ask you a weird question? Are you, by any chance, a witch's descendant?"
I was struck.
We chatted a little. And... I realized I was denying something that's in my blood. And it was hurting me on a really deep level.
Sooo, after that I started to do some little things again: meditation, tarot spreads, color magick, a little cleansing and the Yule celebration. And it felt good... So here I am, again. Hoping to reconnect with my craft and my soul.
Wish me luck, and I hope I'll be reading your posts 💜
