I completely forgot that in sixth grade I(and all my friends) wore cat ears to school all the time. Honestly I'm proud of that. I think I should wear wolf ears to prom and it would really come full circle

I realized I've ALWAYS had creature autism. It was fairies and mermaids when I was younger and now it's werewolves and vampires.

in my horror lit class we were starting our dracula unit and my teacher said "now i want everyone to start thinking about vampires" and i did in fact say out loud "im always thinking about vampires"

back on that bad kids movie grind....

every once in a while i remember the little vampire exists(im talking specifically about the 2017 3d animated version, i've heard great things about the live action and the books, i just havent gotten to watching/reading them). the movie is not good, its very much just a kids movie. but it has such gay potential. like just everything about it would work so well if they(tony and rudy) were a little older and gay(er. the movie is actually pretty queer coded imo but i am definitely projecting a little(a lot)). peak fanfic potential....

also im not a *huge* fan of the rudys hair design and tonys overall design in the animated movie(partly because im bad at drawing short hair, its a little boring in general too tho), but ive seen some stuff from the book and i might make designs combining the aspects i like of all three versions of the story.

I think it's a little funny that after i first watched gingersnaps I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be and now I think about it literally every day.

If I had a nickel for every time Kris Lemche played an emo boy/general kinda outcast and drove a kidnapper ass van in a horror movie. I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Also shoutout to when I was buying FD3 and told my friends "this one is my favorite because it has an emo boy" and one of the only emo guys in my school(there very few. I'm dating one. I have a type.) walked by me as I said it. Also rewatched gingersnaps fully, I need to rewatch ginger snaps 2 and rewrite the ending. Summer project ig :3

Thoughts on Martyrs(spoilers(it's from 2008 though so be fr) and *slight* descriptions of gore/death):

Watched Martyrs today with my lovely pal and we had heard it was really scary, idk if it was though. I liked it, it was definitely freaky pretty much right off the bat which I can appreciate (I can also appreciate ramping up to the freaky stuff in movies. Tbh I appreciate freaky stuff in movies no matter what). I think the more I think about it the scarier itll get. The ending was confusing but we sorta figured it out, and the images of Anna, yk, skinned. Were really powerful. I liked the first part of the movie more, before the cult people showed up, it felt much more "gingersnaps" to me(I think I'm going to compare everything to gingersnaps from now on, it changed me a little as a person). I wish there was more focus on the sisters, it would've been interesting to see them on the run if Lucie hadn't died(again, Anna staying in the house worked very well story telling wise, and Lucie's death did too, this is more self indulgence/wishful thinking). Anyway. I did like it, it was fun to watch a freaky movie with a friend, I'll definitely be thinking about it even though I wasn't blown away by it. Also we pirated it even though it's literally free on tubi, idk why but it's a little funny to me.

☆ Thinking about the 1987 Spectra doll line....

They're like aliens/robots(?), I love the design and the lacy outfits. The slogan is "lacy, spacy, out of this world!". So real. I'm starting to realize how much I love 80s fashion dolls, they're honestly more nostalgic than 2000s/2010s barbies because I grew up playing with my mom and aunts old 80s/90s barbies. Also the fashion, I love the lacy fashion, especially the pajama/bedtime themed dolls with lacy nightgowns. I definitely need to draw fanart of these guys, it'd be funny if I did it for my ap art visual journal once I start, to "practice metal textures"(not a lie) :) ☆
