The year 2022 is ending, so I wanted to do this.

Recently, I realized something... the only time I did cosplay in PSO2 before was when there was the NieR:Automata collab, I tried to make an accurate 9S. After that, I didn’t do anything, even when there were the collabs with Re:Zero, Dead or Alive 5, Persona. Cosplay/Phashion was definitely not one of my priorities when playing this game, for 8 years, even when I moved to Global.

So... this just goes to show that NGS is boring. To me, at least. I mean... sure, there is still PSO2, but it’s not the same (as before, and still different from JP) (it looks pretty bad with the new engine), and the customization system is pretty good for a game that does not focus on life simulation, even though the outfits don’t separate top, bottom and shoes. But the gameplay itself? Yes, it’s dynamic, which is pretty nice for a Phantasy Star game. But there is better elsewhere... Content-wise, you either get to everything quickly, or you don’t get them ever if you’re unlucky or not active enough. The updates are unfortunately too slow.

I used to play with a few people. I don’t anymore, because they left, more or less.

Anyway, there better be other planets soon. And an update that'll finally make use of the stuff laying around in Halphia Lake >:T

Happy end of 2022 and beginning of 2023 everyone! I wanted to do something a little different from my usual New Year’s video game levels drawing and made this tiny Super Chibird game animation! I just don’t see toddlers wearing that, but if anyone wants them for toddlers, maybe I can do it...................? (´•ω•`๑);; Didn’t do for male teen to elder because the model would have to be different to actually fit their feet, me think... they would look weird right... hence why child only.

Here’s another update, almost a month later. I have to admit that having the game always crash within minutes after launching it made my motivation disappear entirely. While I still tried to find solutions to my problem, I didn’t think about my cc at all.

But. Maybe this time, I found a solution... at last!! It seems like “upgrading” the game files in the Bin folder makes it unstable, or something. So... I have to deal with somewhat laggy and more pixelated game. But at least, it didn’t crash so far. I’m gonna have to see if I can work with that... and if I can, then I’ll be releasing the cc soon. Again, no promises.

(No, I don’t know what caused the issue in the first place. I was only speculating before.)

Update. I’m making good progress. :) I’m also updating the YA/AF ones.

But... when I tried to test... I found out that I can’t do much in Sims 3 before the game crashes. I tried vanilla too... still crashes... which means that some Windows 10 update broke it even further for me. Maybe. So... I dunno. I can still work on the cc and release it, but it wouldn’t have custom thumbnail, unless I reuse the previous one for other ages. Eh, that’s still some solution, ig. The post wouldn’t have preview image though...

TS3: Facial Expressions Converted From The Sims Medieval

This is a mod that replaces The Sims 3's set of facial idle animations with their (slightly tweaked by myself) The Sims Medieval counterparts, resulting in subtler, more natural facial expressions. 🙂

This little package is one I've had in my personal folder for quite a while, but recently I got back to working on it to fix a couple issues and make some small adjustments before putting it out there.

The mod replaces 15 (out of a total of 20) facial expressions for Sims aged teen and up with their equivalents from Medieval. The 5 remaining expressions are left intact because they are identical in both games. These facial expressions are those that Sims make when idle depending on their mood; the expressions they make during interactions, socials, etc. are unaffected by this mod.

Though the facial expressions in TSM are far from perfect, the artists definitely learned a few lessons from TS3. TSM's facial expressions have reduced clipping and noticeably less distortion of the Sim's facial features, which means we can bid goodbye to Sims' eyelashes clipping through their eyebrows, noses scrunched up to oblivion, and humanly impossible facial contortions. Your mileage may vary, of course, depending on each particular Sim's facial slider combo; you will likely see more distorted animations on more distorted faces.

Now, on to the slight tweaks mentioned earlier:

By default, all facial expressions have a full blinking animation and a "noblink" pose. The TSM animations had some sort of blinking, but the Sim's eyes didn't actually close for some reason, so I took care of that for every facial expression this mod touches to bring them more in line with the few remaining TS3 ones.

The Sad 1 animation originally looked quite awkward around the lips, with the bottom corners being pulled out while the rest of the mouth was shut; I pulled those corners back up to make the facial expression a little more bearable to look at.

Moreover, from the beginning I thought the Sad expression would fit the angry mood better, so I've also made an alternate version of the mod that swaps around some expressions. In the alternate version, TSM's Sad will replace TS3's Angry 1 (untouched by the main version; not pictured in the previews,) TSM's Sad 1 will replace TS3's Sad, and TS3's Sad 1 will remain the same as vanilla.

Compatibility

Both versions of this mod have slightly different sets of replacements for a_expression_ and a_expressions_ CLIP resources, and will conflict with any other mod that replaces these resources.

This mod is technically compatible with other mods that alter different resources in order to change the frequency of, or entirely disable, the facial expressions, such as Esmeralda's No making stupid faces when idle. Of course, if you used that mod, then you'd never see the facial expressions this one has to offer. 😉

Download: SFS

Choose either the main version or the alternate version. Place the .package in your usual Packages folder or in your Overrides folder.

I was looking at the screenshots I took in my test folder and found these. I already released most on my side blog, the only ones I’m still keeping to myself for now are the ones on the bottom row. They’re looking a little weird because it’s CAS, and I set some default eyes, so it looks kinda bad in there, which makes testing a challenge of course.

What happened to her makeup though🥴

Anyway, uh, lol. They do have some problems, since they were made at the same time as the other ones I made. Colors aren’t super vibrant, but whatever– I think those are the weirdest, along with the Bandori ones hmm... just because of that line at the bottom...

I didn’t even edit them for over a year. Last time was in January 2021. And I still don’t know how to decorate my posts. 🥴 But I do think I’m getting better at it,,, bottom right though,,,,,,
