TW - Self harm, Suicide and substance misuse
If you are struggling with any of these issue please ignore this post and book!!
This book is very heavy. As someone who has dealt with sh and suicide this was difficult to get through. I did have to pace myself and read in parts as well as knowing when to put the book down because it was overwhelming. Overall I think it was a great depiction of these issues and shows the ugly and realistic side of mental illness. I did enjoy go through Charlie’s journey as well as understanding that recovery is not a straight line and you’re likely to relapse and struggling adjusting to life again. But it is an important story to read and understanding that mental ill-health is not just feeling lonely and sad but actually painful and difficult.

This actually had me in tears!
Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover
Really enjoyed this book. First couple of chapters where a bit slow but once I got into it, I really did enjoy it. I love Colleen Hoover and cannot wait to pick up some more of hers!

Brought it yesterday, started it this morning…. And I’m done!
It Ends With Us - Colleen Hoover
I am so excited for It Starts With Us to come out! This may be up on my favourites list. I am obsessed! I really like Colleen Hoover books. I read Verity last year and it blew me away. This met the same level. Being able to write about domestic violence in such a hard hitting way without romanticising it or making unrealistic is hard, but this was done perfectly. And to find out it’s based on real events had me in tears. I cried of happiness and sadness and I would read it all again. The last chapter before the epilogue and the epilogue were perfect and I truly wish I could read it for the first time again! So excited to start Ugly Love tomorrow!

Finally Finished!
The Natural Way of Things - Charlotte Wood
6/10
This is definitely I book I won’t pick up again! I think the ending was really disappointing. The story was good however wasn’t gripping. I think it was definitely worth reading once but I was having to force myself to read it and it just isn’t what I would go for again. I was hoping for more of a thriller and a shock and twists and I just didn’t feel it.
However the writing was really good and it is a good story. This just wasn’t the genre for me

Onto the next!
The Natural Ways of Things - Charlotte Wood
So far so good. It’s taken some time to understand what is going on as it is not very clear. Each chapter rotates between two girls points of view. It is good and very interesting so far so hopefully it stays like this and better!!

Another read complete!
A Good Girls Guide to Murder - Holly Jackson
9/10 - I really did enjoy the second half of the book. I felt like the first part always just a bit slow to get into it. However, as soon as I got too part 2 I could not put it down. I absolutely loved the ending and writing was just perfect. I felt like I was their and experiencing it with Pip. Honestly really recommend for those who live crime!!

Favourite kind of mornings!
Currently reading - A Good Girls Guide to Murder
I’m liking it so far. But it’s not making want to sit down for hours and keep reading. Hopefully the more I get into it the better it gets.

A bit about me!
Hi! I’m Chloe (19)
I’m a little bit of a book nerd.
I’m going be showing the books I’ve read and giving my opinions as well as looking for recommendations from others.
I absolutely love reading psychology thrillers and books that often leave you on a cliff hanger. I also love romance books as well as fantasy and supernatural books. I enjoy a bit of everything!!
I want this to be a safe space where we can talk about books and anything that you feel like talking about!!
