Look. I know you over FS, but if you ever do gifsets again, I would love a set with Quinn & Mooncake moments. I'm over here all up in your gifs tag feenin.😅
You know, there's only one really good gif-able Quinn/Mooncake moment that I can think of... but just for you, I will make one last gifset of that scene 😊

Are you gon' finish FS?
Probably not tbh. I've seen spoilers from the recent episodes and I'm just... not that interested in this show anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I might tune in for the finale but unless it unexpectedly dazzles me I don’t plan on going back to watch 9-12.

Stop Playing in Quinn Face.
I'ma need everybody in here to stop acting like they didn’t all unanimously agree to follow Quinn’s advice.
Looking at you Avocato. Not her fault you a goddamn follower and have never had an individual fucking thought.
And Quinn, Girl. Like, why are you apologizing? They had the chance to leave just like Tribore nem and they didn’t, and they didn’t even tell you they were sick when you said y’all needed to stay and use the Kevin Net to destroy the titans. Speaking of… Nobody don’t give a fuck about the homie Kevin? He died tryna make this shit work and they was just like… Ain’t even mention bruh.
Okay, and once again everybody is following her plan enthusiastically and if it goes wrong I stg y'all better not be ganging up on her.
Well, I mean, after they just made her feel like shit for them having Final Space poisoning…
And like… IMO, THEY should have thought about this when they went to get the selenium for her implant. If she had been awake, she would have said to gather as much as they could in case somebody else gets it. She gotta do ALL the fucking big thinking?
And the rest of y’all… One dead Gary never saw his Quinn again, and the first thought wasn’t, “Damn, that’s sad that they were never reunited,” but “Oh, so Quinn never tried to look for him?” Y’all are bad at following stories I stg. I need everybody to take several hefty seats if the first conclusion you jump to is that. Gary is the first person to ever get somebody out of Final Space. As far as anybody else knew, including Nightfall, who had been on her mission for decades, nobody could get out. She was boutta DIE to get to Gary. Lol. Y’all some miserable haters. Shut up.

Do you think Ash will betray the Team Squad?
Haha, I have no idea. I haven't watched the latest episodes or any of the promos, so I don't know what's got everyone talking about this all of a sudden! Based on how things looked at the end of episode 8, I would say no, but clearly anything is possible with this show.

Do you have any other fandoms other than final space?
Yes, though I'm not really active in any of them. Lately I've been enjoying My Hero Academia, Six of Crows, and the works of Diana Wynne Jones. You can follow me on my main @spellthief if you want to see my (extremely infrequent) posts in other fandoms.

(I actually like this season, despite not liking some episodes)
But I really hope Lord commander wanting ash to be his protégé comes up again. It most likely won't but I do love the idea.
Like that wasn't just invictus going "oh join us", like he litterally was going to whip out the adoption papers on her to take Ash under his wing.
I really want some type of A Series of Unfortunate Events thing to play out
You know, I actually really liked most of the Ash stuff this season. I'd love it if the show explored her darker side a bit more. Ash villain arc when?

I can't believe I'm saying this... but I'm disappointed with the last 4 episodes (ep 7-10)? They killed off most of the show's minor/side characters, some of whom (like Fox and Todd) could have had brilliant stories. The tonal shifts and story could have been stronger, the gay reveal could have been written better, and every episode since ep 4 has felt disjointed to me. The main positives I have are the voice acting and music, but that's about it. I used to love this show too :(
I haven't even watched the latest two episodes yet, which I guess pretty much sums up my feelings about this season.
I'm really mad about Fox. He was introduced as a "main" character but barely got to do anything, had no real plotlines of his own, and in the end was unceremoniously killed off for other characters' development. The show clearly wanted us to feel like it was some grand tragedy but honestly? It just felt shallow. They were trying to recreate the feeling of Avocato's death in S1, but they weren’t willing to kill off any actually important characters. Hell, they couldn't even commit to actually killing off Avocato.
The drama of Gary being the one to kill Fox could have been interesting, but the way they did it--Invictus possessing his arm, while he screamed "no" the entire time--just felt contrived. He was literally forced to do it. There's no stakes in that, no real conflict or moral nuance. It's just... boring. The show still has a lot of strengths, but the writing this season has been so off-putting that I find it hard to get emotionally invested in the characters anymore.

So, that Ash reveal? I thought it was cute, (though maybe the timing of it was a little weird, she was mad at Gary and sad about her brother, but then she met Evra and was fine about everything). But, I was happy and relieved that she was the gay character. I thought bringing in a new female love interest for her would help balance out the female-to-male ratio in the crew, and tbh I'm just not interested in the Catos at this point. And people pushing for it to be Little Cato have been so rude and obnoxious about it that I don't want them to have the satisfaction. And here we are now, people are throwing a fit that it WASN'T him.
Tumblr media
I thought the timing was weird. There are some unfortunate implications considering the way Ash got redesigned and aged-up shortly before the reveal. But all that aside, I though the Ash/Evra stuff was super sweet, and I am thrilled that we're adding another female character to the cast.
Watching the fandom meltdown over this has been....... interesting, to say the least. I understand why fans are disappointed, and you know I’m not going to tell people that they can’t criticize the show. Honestly I think it’s great that more people are thinking critically about it. The lack of diversity in the writer’s room has been a really big problem this season, both in terms of LGBT rep and more generally. So I totally understand where the negativity is coming from.
But I do think it’s very interesting that the same people who were telling me to “touch grass” over my criticisms of the show a few weeks ago are now the ones complaining the loudest on twitter. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

I saw your post on Quinn, and she's incredibly underappreciated (she's my favourite!). But it's not just her, both Fox and Ash have gotten the same treatment especially after the recent ep (and a pattern I've noticed is that it's the outspoken Gary, Avocato and Garycato stans who are the meanest towards these 3). Like most of this fandom is fine, but some people are so horrible and inconsiderate towards certain characters and people and it rly pisses me off
I don't really know how to answer this, so I'm just gonna ramble for a while.
First things first, as much as the fandom is horrible to some of the other characters, Quinn is 100% getting the worst of it. I think that's pretty indisputable. There's no other character that's getting the same treatment that Quinn is. I will concede that Ash and Fox don't get as much appreciation as they deserve, but they aren't getting the same level of hate either.
You say most of this fandom is fine and, you know, you’re probably right. But there are a lot of people out there who are willing to turn a blind eye to antiblackness and other problematic behavior because they don’t want to get involved in “drama.” A fairly popular fanartist once thanked me for speaking out about the way the fandom treats Quinn. But even though she has a much bigger platform than I do, she’s never spoken out about it herself. She won’t even reblog that kind of stuff from me. So she gets to stay on good terms with everyone, while I take all the heat.
On the flip side, plenty of people who claim to love Quinn these days have said some pretty vile stuff about her in the past. But ever since black lives suddenly started mattering last summer, it's become "cool" to care about racism and antiblackness. Or at least, to pretend to care. So nowadays you will not find as many folks wishing that Quinn would just die, but they'll still fantasize about her white love interest berating and abandoning her. It's the same misogynoir just in a new form.
Then there are the stans. I know exactly the kind of people you are talking about, and it's true that they can be horrible and inconsiderate and just generally annoying, but I do want to be careful here and say that I don't think there's anything wrong with liking those characters or the ship. (Would you believe, even I used to like garycato, a long, looooong time ago.) I think it's more just a numbers game. There are a lot of people who stan Gary and/or the Catos, and a lot of people who are just jerks on the internet, and so naturally there's some overlap between those two. But there are also Gary and Avocato stans that are perfectly nice people.
And you know, nobody has ever threatened to kill me because I don't like Avocato. So even if some of the stans are obnoxious assholes, at the end of the day I still like 'em waayyy better than the racists.

Opinions on the latest episode?
Disappointed but not surprised. Fox deserved better. I'm having a hard time mustering up any stronger feelings than that.

Quinn and Avery both have had natural hair, at least since they were kids, probably their whole lives. When Quinn was younger, she had locs while Avery seems to have maintained a signature fade.
Tumblr media
But.
What if.
Whenever they were both accepted into the Infinity Guard (idk how that works), that Quinn did her big chop and they had matching low fades for a time.
I'll be over here. In mine own feelings.

yeah, despite my quibbles with it I actually really enjoyed the scene! It didn’t work for me on a narrative level but on a meta-level I love the idea of a white man volunteering to take on a black woman’s pain 🥺
I was reading ur post about the change is gonna come episode and I KNOW you said don’t get me started lmao but I was curious by what you meant with the pain receptor scene being problamatic! Was it just the concept of like gary taking on Quinn’s pain or how it was executed? I’m sorry if this comes off as rude at all!
Nah, you're not rude at all. My biggest objection to that scene is that it takes Quinn's pain and makes it all about Gary. I think if it had been framed a little differently, it could have been sweet, but as it was Quinn was literally just silent in the background while Gary got to have his big dramatic moment. And this is a problem I've had all throughout S3, to be honest--the whole Gary/Quinn relationship has been very centered on Gary's feelings, with Quinn usually taking a backseat.
Also, it was just plain stupid. Not that that's a dealbreaker when it comes to Final Space! I know that this show is dumb lol. But the whole idea of sharing pain receptors was a bit much even for me...
