Photosynthesis
I turn my head towards you, as a flower does to the sun
And I let the petals of my gentleness unfurl
To show my face, yellow and sweet.

Prey
My lips pull back from my teeth -
am I snarling
or am I smiling sweetly?

Aqueous
He walks into a room and takes up space
unapologetically; with the confidence that
only a man can have.
With no regard for the shape of me
he spreads his legs, unfurls his sharp edges like wings
until they touch the corners of the room.
And I seep into the gaps left behind,
To dull what makes him sharp and fill what makes him broken -
I press myself into him until he feels nearly whole.
And each time I change my shape I start to forget
how I looked before I was wrapped around him.
He says we fit like puzzle pieces.
(Did he ever see me as I am? I think he loved the shapeshifter on the pedestal)
