Aight so

You're better off putting that on 2x speed, but yea I didn't like the setup and means of his transformation to villain in either the comic or the game, so I kinda rewrote that he tried to steal the ruby from Eggman and got injured with it embedded in his chest. The only reason I can see for Eggman to not rip it from his chest and use it himself is that he could not make the ruby do what he wanted by himself and getting it embedded in your body makes you into a vector of control for it.

I also made the ruby rob its vector of empathy, sympathy and most of their kind or happy memories, craving violence, fear and pain like a demon.

With detachment from it as a ghost, he's still stuck with a perspective and set of habits that'll need to be worked out but it'll at least set him more towards the neutral scale with things and people to find upset with him or dead that'll smack him in the neurons for those emotions and open his understanding more fully to why the worldview the ruby taught him is wrong.

Fr, why would you abandon a perfectly good team of friends to work for the jerk destroying world? (I don't think any war criminal has ever used "going through the motions" as an excuse, it's so bleh bro)

He and the Jackal Squad handle the raid pretty well physically in the comic, so they shouldn't be too desperate or starving, and if hunger or desperation IS the problem, then it's probably being caused by the evil scientist who's been kidnapping and enslaving people and probably using up perfectly good crop or housing land for his facility and materials.

If anything is screwing up the economy on Mobius that the fuzzy beings operate by, It's gotta be in large part Eggman.

And the game version just chucks him in a test tube, erasing the Jackal Squad and I don't appreciate that, it robs so much emotional weight and development.

Doing all of this not only makes him more sympathetic, but it also makes it more tangible for someone like Xanthi to behaviorally rehabilitate him.

So anyways, here's him as a ghost

And like most spirits, if you piss him off enough he'll be able to pick stuff up.

Bothering Xanthi while she's meditating or astral projecting is a one-way ticket to a fresh-squeezed skeleton

Buuuut he won't be a ghost forever, as soon as she has confirmation that he isn't going to go back to being a war criminal, she gets a piece of his hair from one of his Squad's old hangouts. Using cloning, she grows him a new body and tells him to stay in it while it's forming so that the neurons in the brain will form to his soul and he won't have amnesia.

I'm a pale cis dork, so I would not try to draw any of this myself because I don't want to be that bitch, but I really want to see a series in which different members of different communities are just doing really good-hearted well-meaning things and then someone sneaks into the community for bad purposes and gets absolutely dunked on by the members.

Like how people who like animals too much think that furries will be okay with that trash because we draw anthropomorphized animals and oftentimes enjoy some spicy content with them, but there is a clear line in the sand for that and we will flay any zoo alive we find.

I had a dream kind of like that but it was with a club full of cool drag queens who would volunteer places and stuff, but then find out that someone in their group was actually there for devious purposes that the right wing would and have accused before. Then all the drag queens beat the hell out of the creep.

Of course, I am not part of any of these communities nor do I sit under any of these umbrellas, so I would not attempt to draw it. It just appeared in my mind and I just think it would be really cool to have a comic series that shows people that one fool does not make the community.

If this idea is problematic, please tell me and I'll combust this post with haste for y'all's comfort with immediate apologies, but I can't personally see anything but good, or at least some satisfaction coming from an idea or plotline like that?

It's like when you hear about a pedo and need to see a comic, or hear a news story about one being beat up to feel better. I know I do, pedos are nasty I drew a whole Bluey Comic where Chili mauls a creep (off-panel) and gives some very important words to her daughters about stranger danger (I made it so kids looking up the community online would find something with their safety in mind.

But does this sound like a good idea or a problematic trash fire waiting to combust?

now I wanna read this as a serious voice line and put it everywhere, you are speaking the facts and everyone needs to hear it.

the men and boys are innocent too.

we cry "the innocent women and children" to appeal to the masses, to try and force their sympathy, but the men and boys are innocent too.

I have seen sons crying out for their mothers, their fathers, their siblings. I have seen them break down at the loss of their families. I have seen them cling to their dead and grieve.

I have seen fathers cradle their dead children, seen them kiss their faces and hold their little hands. I have seen them faint with grief when asked to identify the dead. I have seen them carry their sons and daughters. I have seen them fasting to provide what little they can for their families.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.
