Well, today I went to see a new GI doctor. I haven't had one since moving to Tennessee and I've been having a really hard time lately with my gut. She ordered a bunch of labs. One of those being Celiac's. I haven't been checked in over 10 years and she told me that there is a correlation of PCOS and Celiac's- this was new to me- I also have to have another dreaded colonoscopy 馃檮 where she will take biopsies of different sections of my colon and send them off for testing.
Hopefully things come back with good news.

So feeling this today. Stayed home from work because I've been dealing with a flare up for 2 weeks now. Nothing has helped and my GI office can't get me in any sooner than my apt in 1 week. I just want to feel better.
Developing a chronic illness, is a lot like winning an award. Except the award is diarrhea and fatigue.

It's been a while
I've not been very good about posting on here. My symptoms have been pretty stable so I think that's why. My birth control got discontinued so I will have to do to start a one, the one I was taking was doing so well. I've been working on trying to lose some weight which all of you know isn't an easy task. Currently have only kept off about 3lbs 馃檮.
How has the rest of the world been doing?

So much cramping
Well after finishing my first round of medications of Premarin and Estrace I called the doctor to let her know my bleeding had stopped. She said the next step was to start me on progesterone and Estrace to force me into a period. Then after that period I would call and let them know if I wanted to start birth control pills or make a baby!
I started the progesterone on Tuesday. I've had quite a bit of cramping already. It's not like cramping I'm used to having with my PCOS. It's localized directly where my uterus sits. It comes and goes in waves of intense pain to nothing at all. My lower back is sore as well. People who have no issues getting pregnant and complain about the misery of pregnancy really have no idea. We have to go through so much pain and agony before we even get to experience the "misery" of pregnancy.

Day idek.
Well I've finished .g round of Premarin and have moved on to round of Estradiol. I'm taking it twice a day. Thankfully I should only have to take it until Tuesday when I call my doctor to report how my bleeding is. Which it's fine. I haven't bled since my appointment which I'm thankful for. Things I've experienced while on these meds so far are extreme hot flashes and EXTREMELY sensitive nipples. They hurt most everyday no matter what.
We still haven't decided how long to wait until we start trying. I'm going to take the birth control for a few months and test my ovulation and see how that goes and hopefully we will just be able to stop the birth control and possibly only have to do one e trigger shot!

Ugh.
Today I ate peanut butter cookies and did not go to the gym. I was so exhausted from the hiking we did on Sunday I couldn't get up this morning. Then work was so effing crazy because it was Monday that I didn't feel like going to the gym afterwards.
I hate how PCOS makes you so tired. Like I'm either great, ready to go or I'm going to fall asleep while standing from exhaustion.
Oh well tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow will be day 7 of Premarin (I got my days mixed up somewhere) after that only 3 more days of it and then onto the Estradiol.

Day number 6
Day 6 of Premarin. So far so good. Not really having any major side effects. Some nipple sensitivity but that's to be expected.
I've been doing really well about either going to the gym or doing some outdoor fun to get a good work out in. I even got Alan to go with me today we went to a state park and walked a few trails. We stopped at a brewery on our way home and had a good talk about having babies and when we should start. I'm still stuck on starting in April but he isn't sold yet on starting then. He wants to figure out a budget and figure out of we can afford a baby right now without having to live paycheck to paycheck. While I agree with that I also told him when we started dating that I wanted to have a baby within the next 2 years which was 1 year ago.
We haven't lived in our current place for very long so we dont know just yet what our average utilities will be so we are going to start there and then figure it out. We will most likely have to move to a different apartment complex that has a cheaper rent rate in order to accommodate the added expense of a baby.
Any thoughts or ideas on budgeting for a baby??

Protein, protein, protein
I started my new daily protein shake this morning. Whey and low carb. The best part, I got it at Aldi's so it was hella cheap! 2nd day in a row I've gone to the gym.
I can do this!

Day 2
Day 2 of Premarin pills. No major side effects. I mostly experienced a lot of sweating. Not hot flashes a constant hot lol.
Day 1 of high protein low carb. I went to the gym this morning so I had more calories to eat. I felt pretty good most of the day. I was never too hungry or had low blood sugar.
I have to keep telling myself this will be worth it in the end.

PCOS
Welcome to anyone who is reading this and I'm sorry we have this shitty disease in common. I've started this blog as a way to share my experience and offer support for those who are suffering with PCOS. I was diagnosed when I was 18 and I've been struggling ever since then. I've always had acne since hitting puberty and then started the unwanted hair growth. My periods became irregular and I was diagnosed.
I've also been struggling with infertility, as many of us cysters do. I had to have surgery to remove a cyst on my ovary and during that time they checked my tubes and both of them were open and functioning! This was great news. Them things got put on the back burner as my boyfriend and I made a move to a different state so he could begin his PhD. Well today I had an appointment with an OB/REI and we came up with a game plan for baby making!
I explained to her my irregular periods and she wanted to do a transvaginal ultrasound to check the lining of my uterus,it was really thin as she expected. She started me Premarin (estrogen pills) to take for 10 days. Then I change to Estrace for 7 days. After that if I have a period I will begin birth control if not then she will give me a pill to force a period and then I will begin birth control until we decide on a time to start the process!
She wants me to try Metformin(i can already feel the diarrhea coming) again and see if I can tolerate it better this time around with diet change. I am beyond d ready to start this process and have a beautiful baby before too long.
I'm here for support and advice please reach out to me if you need someone to talk to!
