Only seeing clips of the new Avatar: The Last Airbender live action in twitter. People have the right to criticize the adaptation eventhough they have shown a few clips or the whole series., especially if the changes of the show destroys the character, the world building and the story. I have to admit though some changes do fit nicely with the characters and story.

Is it just me or their are parallels to the finale episode of The Owl House: Watching and Dreaming, and the last episodes of Avatar:The last Airbender?
Luz had horrible thoughts of wanting to end Belos with the power of the collector, but could not bear the thought of ending him brutally. Even questionning herself if she is like Belos. Aang on the other hand trying to find a way to end the Fire Lord's reign without killing him, but friends and other avatars told him the only option to end his reign is to kill him. He was even give twice the option to kill him during the time he redirected the Fire Lord's lightning & during he was in the Avatar state.
But both of these protagonist didn't go with the most brutal option, instead they were given another way to end the big bad. Luz was given the power of the titan by King's dad, meanwhile Aaang was taught by the Lion Turtle how to remove someones bending. If people say tis plot armor that they are given another way to finish someone without the brutality. Let me tell you it wasn't given for free. King's dad saw how kind Luz was to their son and he gave the decision to Luz the decision if she wants the power or not. Plus Luz earn that gift because of her kindness and loving the titan's son like one of her own family. Aang was struggling and contemplating whether he should kill Ozai during the final battle. And The Lion turtle did warn him to be careful in using the energy bending because ozai's energy might corrupt him. But Aang won because his spirit was strong enough to withstand ozai's being.
The way that their respective bad got defeated by not giving an inch to the whims of their big bad. Belos was trying to manipulate Luz to save him, taunting her they are both humans, they are not like the beings in the Isle. I saw this analysis on twitter how it is so satisfting how Belos used the titan's name to justify the things he has done to the Isle, only to be defeated by Luz who was entrusted by the power of the titan. And how the Titan's power protected Luz front the acid rain of the Boling Isle, while Belos is melting away metaphorically losing his humanity. I just like she is just staring at him coldly and how Eda, king & Raine came then stomping Belos to the ground . It's like the scene is saying you have used my name long enough to inflict pain & deceit to the the Boiling Isles. Therefore, I will let these people who you caused so much harm to end your reign.
Ozai tried taunting Aang into killing him, calling him weak, and calling the air nomads weak. But Aang didn't give an inch to Ozai's taunt instead he defeated Ozai by the way the Air nomads taught him about life. He striped of Ozai's power by taking away his fire bending, power that he used for his brutality & selfishness. The Air nomads won through Aang, their legacy won over a war of violence & pain.
I love how these two protagonist, Luz & Aang, protagonist who are kind, compassionate & gentle, defeat the antagonist by not losing who they are as characters. For not letting the antagonist win by caving into their demands, instead the antagonist is stripped of all the things they hold dearly about themselves.

Midnight thoughts
I think this is a good space and time were I can gush something without feeling it as a niche or feel left out of place. I have been lately thinking the creatives here in the Philippines. Yes creatives down to music to entertainment and it has been amazing they are putting beautiful works. 2022 was a year in a way Filipino artist getting alot of praise and recognition locally and internationally. Like from shows Maria Clara at Ibarra, Darna (specifically Darlentina), Dragrace Philippines, and other series that are premiering this early 2023. Also alot of Filipino actress & actors gettiing recognition overseas. Filipino Musicians are doing amazing as well just held Ben and Ben (eventhough their are problems with the concert) 60,000 people attended and Erasershead reunion was big hit as well there are 75,000 people who attended. SB19 held a world tour and Moira Dela Torrs is coming up a World Tour.
It got me thinking the effects of Philippines' creatives with the socio political atmosphere the country is facing. I remember an article Rappler wrote asking the title is called "Is this the golden era of entertainement?" (Sorry I don't have a link or this is the exact title above) so the article goes that during Martial Law era alot of films and maybe some music were excellent during that time because artist persevere during this time when our country at stake. Also how different social media creates a way for their work to be seen without being constride by tranditional media. And it got me thinking the history of using art in the country for sparking change in Philippine Society. Juan Luna created Spolarium to show the abuse of Spanish Colonizers & Rizal wrote Noli and El Fili to show the abuse of power by the Priests during that time. During Martial Law Lino Bracko used films to show the abuse of Martial law, Apo Hiking Society created when they are one of the first musicians who stood with the people during Edsa Revolution. And now that are country is in socio political turmoil because the Marcos family is back in the Malacanang Palace somehow the creatives have persevere whether they are making a huge noise or whisper for change. At this point it baffles me when most fans want majority of artist to not tackle the country's state when in reality our art has always been involve telling the truth the state of the country. Whether it is good news or bad news.

There' something in my mind that I want to share on twitter about SB19 but I might be drag all the way from stan twitter so I am putting it out there.
- I am happy for them that in a span of 4 years a Filipino pop group was able to get local and international recognition this masssive in ashort amount of time. Which is amazing because many look down upon local artist who are in the pop genre mosty in the pop genre tends to be called kpop copycats, badoy o cringe. Eventhough you were called like that, you stood your ground and I am proud of thwm. But I am scared because of the international recgnition you are getting that you are going to be used by Western media & our own government for selfish gain.
-There are moments in the fandom, A'tin, were I am happy that you get along and support with different pop groups. Something that is rarely seen in kpop stan twitter. And kudos there are moments that you don't have a beehive mindset which is healthy for any fandom. The down side many a'tin are Marcos Apologist & Apoliticals who don't see wrong them tweeting the Marcos or tagging them. News flash to those fans the government will only use them & alot of people will be turn off by them if they associate with the Marcos. A'tin you post tweets or comments there that are plain rude & insensitive towards local artists and their fandoms. If you don't want to share the same sentiments of SB19 please understand that SB19 highly respect alot of artist in this country so please do the same.
-Personally I don't want to get them the worldwide domination, where paparazzis will be following their every move, the governement using them, or western media use them as who is the better asian or used for headlines by western media who don't do their research. In short I don't want them to be used as a commodity by both local & north amererica. Getting International recognition, but having the freedom away from the public scrutiny is something I want for them. Yes they are recognized but at least they can roam around without fear of being followed.
-what they achieve in a short amount ois astounding, but I am scared they are going too fast it might crash & burn. I hope they focus on longevity in the country. Yes you might get international recognition, but it is more effective if your own people recognize your song. There are something you can learn from kpop marketing ,but not every kpop marketing works here. Philippinesnis not fast pace like South Korea. Many Filipino bands took years to get recognition. I wish they took some lessons from local artist on how toake a song that is longevity.
Anyway I am tired. May be I wil continie tomrrow

something i really love about twiyor is HOW they fell in love (they absolutely are i do not care about your opinion at all) because to me the scenes in which they both fell in love with eachother are when the other is being their GENUINE self and not their “secret” identities and showcasing their true feelings about the other.
For Yor I believe she really fell in love with Loid during the party scene where Loid defends her and ILL EXPLAIN WHY!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now it may seem very obvious as to why she fell in love here (Loid supports her and respects her even though he doesn’t know the true reason she goes to hotels and stuff) BUT it goes a little deeper than that for me.
Loid in this scene is his 1000% true self and this is proven by the flashback. Loid never truly finds out the reason why Yor went to hotels but he still respected her fully because he understands the having to do something you don’t really want to do to take care of yourself or others, he understand that better than everyone. And whilst it’s not hard to understand why Yor would fall for that, it’s beautiful to understand that this is one of the scenes in which Loid isnt really “lying”. He completely and 100% respects her choices and the things she had to do because he also had to do them.
NOW as to where I think Loid fell for her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep. not shocking at all. But I wanna explain how this scene also relates to my reason for loving where Yor fell in love.
Loid in this episode was trying to find out whether or not Yor had been up to something and whether she was connected to the secret police yada yada and OBVIOUSLY we can talk about Loid truly feeling guilty for doubting her and that being a whole other thing that makes me wanna cry BUT that scene right there. it’s special for so many reasons.
Yor is someone who gets embarrassed easily after saying really cheesy stuff or just by normal things, but after this scene Yor doesn’t take back her words or gets super embarrassed, instead we can see how she truly means her words to Loid. Saying she’s really glad she married Loid specifically because of the kind words Loid said to her and most would think that’s when Yor fell in love, but that little blush after that statement shows me Loid was the most affected even by a tiny statement. Loid throughout his whole life has been someone who’s been through so much, and even as a spy has never really received a thanks or any words of affirmation at all, he just does his work and gets on with it.
Receiving a statement such as someone is glad he’s in their life the way Yor does it, no embarrassment or taking back of the words, just pure and simple honesty, thankfulness and affection, yeah that’d make me fall for someone too.
TLDR They both find each others words to be so filled with honesty and genuineness which at the end of the day are each others real personalities ideals and morals shining through the “disguises” they made for themselves, which makes this relationship that much sweeter, that they both fell in love with the others real selves, even if they don’t know it.

I love the parallels of pagtingin and pasalubong. Pagtigin has a cool & groovy sound, the lyrics however is a pov of someone who is second guessing if they should confess or not. Pasalubong is soft & melancholic sound, but despite the doubt s the person was able to confess without knwoing how this persons feel.
