almost 60. he/him. an ace/progressive “libtard” trying to find their place in the world. bookseller. mostly about Star Trek (def ship nerd and Spirk is canon) but also sci-fi, books, design, cute animals, eclectic history, and tango, with the occasional sh*tpost and signal boost.
I am a solo indie dev trying to overcome my anxiety and actually let people know my game exists. It is a cute physics based game where you are the level.
I love making this game with passion and I am so excited to share it with the world, but somehow I need to let the world know. Unfortunately the way steam works is the more wishlists the more visibility, so if you are interested it is super appreciated :)

“People have always told me: ‘You’ll understand once you start dating. You’ll feel it when you like someone. You’ll learn when you grow up’. But the feeling of romance I was supposed to understand one day - the meaning of kissing or sex - I couldn’t get that at all. I thought I was lacking something as a human. That’s why the words aromantic asexual… they saved me.” | KOISENU FUTARI
Found this during a file cleanup, an old Trek fanzine, probably bought at a convention, back in the day.
Dated November 1978, over a year away from the release of TMP. Price, a whopping $2.50
Table of contents, and an ad for a fan mail order place in TX. Honestly, there were corporate annual reports that were thicker.
A article about the Klingon Romulan Alliance, in the format of the Franz Joseph Technical Manual
Followed by Ranger Force, the equivalent of the Frontier Cavalry, meant to deal with local crisises.
Fan art abounds
More articles, including the early prehistory of the Federation, and the psychology of Mr Spock's popularity.
And still more fan art
The ad at the back of the zine. In 1978, the VCR had not been yet accepted by consumers, and videotape rentals stores were just starting up.
It wouldn't be until the early 1980's when videos would become affordable enough for home purchases (coincidentally, one of the first films available for home sale was Wrath of Khan at an affordable $19.99)
unavoidable that you will be the villain in someone else's story. You will be painted in an unfavorable light. You will be the irredeemable one. and all of this will happen despite how nice you might usually be or how kind or how respectful or how warm. and you will just have to move on.
unironically my favorite thing about tiktok is how the algorithm will sometimes assign you a random niche interest like for a while. it's just like hey you're gonna be into beef tallow now. last year it gave me pointe shoes. yes as in for ballerinas. my current tiktok-assigned niche interest is the north sea.
does tumblr know about tim misny??? like has the level of tim misny awareness that exists in northeast ohio broken containment and become known online yet???
sometimes i’m struck with the realization that as a member of the star trek fandom i’m participating in a tradition that is more than twice as old as i am, and that for nearly fifty years people have touted the same beliefs i hold close to my heart now, from the incredible gayness of two dumb starfleet officers to the ability for peace and equality to spread across the stars. people have been writing and fighting for these things for decades, and i’m part of that. that is amazing.
