Disney Television Animation Starts 40th Anniversary Celebration At Annecy Film Festival

There's so much to do, getting ready just for you to celebrate #DisneyTVA40 at Annecy Film Festival.

For this year’s ever-inspiring Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Disney Television Animation, Disney Junior Educational Resource Group, Disney EMEA Animation, 20th Television Animation will unveil a handpicked selection of new releases that promise to bring fresh, captivating adventures to all the family.

 Disney Branded Television will present “40 Years of Disney Television Animation: Past, Present, and Future” — a look at how, since its launch in 1984, Disney Television Animation has been at the forefront of creating iconic animated content for kids. The panels and screenings are to honor the studio's 40th anniversary which will happen on December.

The panel will feature previews of the "Phineas And Ferb" revival, "Primos", "Zombies: The Re-Animated Series", "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 2.0" and Disney Television Animation's 100th show "StuGo". The panel will have a showcase of upcoming NDA content for Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ for the next 100 shows.

20th Television Animation To Attend Annecy Film Festival For The First Time With Bob's Burgers Panel.

20th Television Animation joins Annecy with the studio’s inaugural presence in 2024.

The studio is currently producing over a dozen animated shows across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms, including the longest-running primetime scripted series in the history of television, The Simpsons, which recently celebrated its 750th episode; Hulu’s hit revival of Futurama and original Solar Opposites, heading into its fifth season, Bob’s Burgers, from Loren Bouchard; culture piercing Family Guy, currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary, American Dad!, created by Mike Barker, Matt Weitzman and Seth MacFarlane; and The Great North from from Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux.

Walt Disney World has confirmed several Stitch-inspired Annual Passholder-exclusive offerings that will be available during V.I.PASSHOLDER Days from May 1 through June 26. This includes a new passholder magnet with a Stitch redesing by Asia Ellington ("Primos", "The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse" franchise) and Paul Rudish ("The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse" franchise).

Passholders can pick up the magnet at Creations Shop in EPCOT during normal operating hours. They must present their valid Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+, or Disney MagicMobile pass, as well as a government-issued photo ID.

Disney Streaming Services Orders Family Guy Halloween And Christmas Specials For Hulu and Disney+

"Freakin' Sweet"

Disney is looking to take advantage of its smash hit adult animated franchise, “Family Guy”, with two new holiday specials that will be coming exclusively to Hulu and Disney+.

As the animated sitcom celebrated its 25th anniversary since its premiere, it was confirmed at PaleyFestLA that the series would air two holiday specials later this year, the specials are set to be confirmed to be themed around Halloween and Christmas.

“Family Guy” Season 22 recently wrapped up on FOX, While the show is still contracted to premiere on the FOX linear channel in the United States, it looks like Disney is going to use a similar loophole to how Paramount+ was able to get “South Park” specials/movies since these two holiday specials won’t be considered a traditional episode for the 23th season. No other details on these “Family Guy” specials have been announced, but they will be themed on Halloween and Christmas. Hopefully, we will soon find out more about these specials.
