i said it in another post but i looove ted and ozzy. ted? an unconfident shy rich boy but has the capabilities to get back with a furious vengeance ? ticks all my boxes. and ozzy.. i love ozzy.. i don’t know how this happened he wasn’t my favorite before but now he’s everything to me. he’s just an anxious n angry little guy who’s really just sad inside that all his friends moved away to another school i wanna HUg HIMMM

@cainsnocreaturefeature - i can confidently say cncf is one of my top favorites. i remember seeing the blog update and excitedly jumping to read it. your time here has truly left an impression on the kg tumblr fandom, it’s simply amazing how you can craft such an amazing plot and storyline and captivating characters just from a simple comedy puzzle game! and you even made an animatic for it too, that’s pure dedication right there! and the fact you thought about the character’s families? that’s just amazing. there was so much thought, love and passion put into this au and it never ceases to amaze me. your work has truly left an impact on us all! if this is just a silly little kg au you made, then i don’t doubt you’re going to do great things in the future. i wish you good things in life, ryu!!!

@displacedbias - i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, i love the work you’ve put into your au lou! just a simple change of ted being the golden child can really change the outcome a lot. you’ve definitely captured the feeling of the butterfly effect in this au. the in-depth analysis of the characters you wrote was truly riveting to read. so much thought put into these silly little pixels! and i love reading the drabbles of this au, it’s so well written and fascinating to read! (that hide and seek drabble traumatized me you’re paying for my therapy bills/j) you’ve put so much thought, care and love into this characters and it really shows, it inspires me to do the same with my characters. you are just cooking SO HARD with this au, i simply can’t put it into words just how cool it is. can’t wait to see what you do next! never change, lou!!!

@gabycantart - i LOVE how you draw and design the characters! all the monster counterparts fit the characters so nicely!! ron as a pumpkin head is great. kidd as a ghost is a classic and i love lily and billy being ghostbusters/priests. (and also ozzy but i talked about him enough.) it’s all so creative!! and they’re all so uniquely shaped from each other, i could probably recognize them if they were in a blackened out silhouette. and this applies to your designs of the og kids too! i have no idea how you do it, it’s simply remarkable just how distinct and special they are from each other! you have such good creative designing skills!! i’ve been following you ever since i joined the kg fandom and it’s really cool to see your art grow along the years. it’s always a joy to see you post your art, it’s really inspiring. please keep doing what you love, gaby!!

“Yes, Teddy?”

“When are you gonna ask out one of your bazillion crushes?”

Felix’s face reddened as his gaze snapped towards his brother for a moment. Only to look away in embarrassment. “I do not have that many crushes. A ‘bazillion’ is not a number and you know it.”

“You’re dodging the questiooon!” Ted grinned in a sing-song tone, clearly taking delight in teasing his brother. When Felix didn’t answer him, Ted rested his chin on his hand as he leaned towards him, “I’m not saying you have to. I’m just curious when you’re thinking about it. They’re all your friends, you know.”

“That’s exactly why I don’t want to ask anyone out…” Felix mumbled, fiddling with his sleeves nervously. “I don’t want that to change.”

Ted frowned. “They’re not gonna stop being your friend just because you ask them out. We all care about you! Relationships are just friendships with kissing anyway.”

That didn’t help Felix’s face get any less red, but he looked at Ted with a wince, “…Really? You’re sure about that?” What was he saying? Of course Ted was right. He was always right about everything.

Still, Ted confirmed, smiling bright as he hugged his twin. “I’m sure! I’m pretty sure some of them really like you back too.”

“R-Really–?” Felix brought his arms up to return the hug, “Which ones?”

“That’s up to you to find out!” Ted giggled.

Felix pouted, “Of course it is.” And they stayed like that a moment more, until Ted could hear a mumbled, “Thank you, Teddy…” from his brother.

To which, Ted responded by saying, “You’re welcome, loverboy.” earning a light smack from Felix.

…That’s not Felix. He lacks the confidence, the authority he usually carries himself with, but he looks so much like Felix, it’s uncanny.

They’re identical, yeah– But there are little differences Ted can point out. The way his hair falls, the smallest indent of a dimple on his left cheek that’s never really noticeable because he doesn’t smile often, the way his hands clench and unclench when he’s nervous. But boy is this Felix nervous. It’s like seeing Felix acting like Ted, and Ted isn’t sure how to feel about that.

He’d think it was a new way to mock him. But something about this Felix seems so much more genuine. So harmless. There’s something soft in his eyes that Ted’s rarely seen in his own brother. Something like care when this Felix looks at Ted.

But it also seems Felix is just as confused as he is as they stare at each other, too nervous to speak up and god is that weird to think about when he thinks about Felix and his typical outspokenness.

Seems Felix still has some degree of that social quality, more so than Ted at least, since he’s the first to state, “You’re not my brother.”

“Yeah,” Ted replies softly, “You’re not mine either.”

And there’s nothing else that really needs to be said. They know that’s not their brother, but that’s okay. Weird, very weird, but not bad.

The silence is almost comfortable between them. Almost. Ted has to remind himself of the complete lack of animosity this Felix holds for him.

…And suddenly Felix is holding his hand. Ted flinches for a moment, stunned. So stunned, that he doesn’t hear the question being asked. Ted almost breaks away from Felix’s grip but he doesn’t. Like before, this is just weird, but not bad.

“Wh. Why are you holding my…?” Ted frowns as he looks at Felix’s confused expression.

Instantly, Felix lets go and Ted finds himself missing the warmth of his not-quite-his brother’s hand. “Oh! I’m so sorry… I should have asked first. Please forgive me, I– It’s a bit of a habit, I just… I’m sorry…”

It feels weird seeing him apologize so much. “No, no, it’s okay! My… My brother doesn’t really do that, so I was just surprised… You can hold my hand if you want to. Um– What were you saying? Sorry. I didn’t hear the first time…” Part of him expected to get reprimanded, but that never happened.

And it’s hesitant when Felix reaches out for Ted’s hand again, but he does. And they give each other reassuring smiles. Felix speaks, “That’s alright. I was just saying– We should… look for our brothers. Shall we?”

“Oh, yeah, sure!” Ted’s face brightens.

And then they stand there together in silence for a few more seconds.

“….Are. Are we going?” Ted asks after a while, his voice a small squeak.

“Ah. Of course. I was just waiting for you to lead the way.” Felix answers.

There’s another pause. “Oh.” Ted replies, “I was waiting for you to lead the way.”

“…”

“…”

“Oh.”

And more silence.

“…Let’s just go together, then.” Felix suggests. All Ted really does is nod, and the two of them walk off to find their brothers.

About the AU

It’s an alternate universe where everything’s the same except Ted was chosen to be the favourite twin while Felix is the scapegoat instead!

There is a fanfic I wrote that portrays my characterization of the rs!Huxley twins in detail (Bitter Sweet on AO3) and an in-depth analysis explaining the reason for why the twins are the way they are in this AU compared to how they are in canon.

Some key points for this AU:

The only change character-wise is the fact that Ted is the favourite twin and Felix is the scapegoat

Their personalities are relatively the same, but the situation is different

They are 9 year olds in this AU

Kid is named Evan in this AU. Yes, because of probably the exact reason you’re thinking about,,,
