Thank you everyone for inputting on bracket seeding and scheduling and whatnot!!! This is making it a lot easier on us to handle all that stuff /genuine
Setting up the bracket will take some time, but please be patient in the interim! Our ask box is always open if anyone wants to chat or goof around~
The prelim match for Danganronpa will go up sometime this week! Stay tuned, we'll announce it closer to the scheduled time! It will likely be one match with the suggested contestants, one week in total, and the winner will go on to fight in the main bracket!
See youse soon~

How should we handle seeding this bracket?
So let me leave some context before going into the poll itself
We have 128 submissions for our bracket which is awesome! During the first run, we left things entirely random as to who'd get put where. This time, we're not sure!
There's a lot of fandom overlap, and a majority of submissions were only submitted once... very few got more than 2 submissions so it's extremely difficult to seed for popularity too! So I'm leaving it to you guys to pick how seeding works!
Random: Every character is placed in the bracket entirely randomly
Group fandoms together: Characters from the same fandom (for example - Geminiman and Iceman are both from the Megaman franchise) are grouped together- this could prevent characters from the same fandom taking up the majority of the bracket and could possibly lead to more fandom diversity, but would also mean all-but-one character in a fandom would get eliminated early on
Seed by popularity: Purposely set up the bracket so that characters who received 2+ submissions (24 total) are purposely not placed next to each other on the bracket in round 1. Characters with 3+ submissions (6 total) will be placed as far apart as possible in the bracket to ensure they wouldn't match till later in the bracket if they win their first few rounds
Fandoms + Popularity: A combination of options 2 and 3: Characters in the same fandom are placed near each other, and those with 2+ submissions will try to be placed so they're not next to each other for round 1 matches. Might get finicky to set up if those rules clash but we're up for that challenge if youse want it!

For context, I can only select polls to be 1 day or 1 week, no other options :(
"Earlier rounds should be 1 day, later rounds 1 week" meaning for example round 1 (64 matchups) and round 2 (32 matchups) would have matches be 1 day each, while later rounds such as the sweet 16 (8 matches) and onward would be 1 week long per match.
Matches would still be posted in groups so it wouldn't be like one week per one match, just 1 week to get results for those matches
Shorter matches means getting through each round quickly, but week-long matches means more time to get more votes in, there's benefits to both, so... What do youse think?

I also realized apparently today (March 5) is Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) Awareness Day!
So to any of my followers who have, suspect they have, or are questioning if they have DID or even OSDD- sending you lots of love!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Anyone who knows any DID/OSDD systems, send them some love! Read up on the disorders and take the chance to learn something you didn't know before! Allies are Pallies... or something. Idk. Good vibes here!!! 🧡🧡🧡

TRAGIC SIBLING SHOWDOWN YEAR TWO!
2023 Masterpost
we're so back baby! Nominations are open!
Now some ground rules for the competition itself and nominations:
Only Fictional Characters Allowed!
Only submit a character set once! Please no cheating, We will do our best to include as many as I can
That being said we're still going to limit it to 2-3 sets from one source
As well as the finalists and semi-finalists cannot compete again, so sorry to ed, al, shadow, maria, jason todd, dick grayson, chara, asriel, and the ro'meave brothers, but they can't get in this year
Tragic Siblings are pretty self explanatory but its any tragic, estranged, or the like siblings!
HARD RULE ONE: no harrassment, being vitrilolic, so hateful or anything of the like or you will be blocked. We had a situation last year with a certain fandom and we DO NOT want any repeats of it. It genuinely killed both of our interests in the source and we aren't letting that situation happen again
HARD RULE TWO: Shipping any of the siblings involved in this is an instant block as well, this applies all around the board for all kinds of siblings!
Nominations will stay open until the March 19th

OKAY I've mostly got things sorted to make this bracket, I'll start working on that this week! Just a few things we'll go over:
Collecting a poll over how long to make each poll/round (1 day/vs 1 week)
Collecting a poll over how to handle seeding the bracket (character from similar fandoms grouped together, totally random, more submissions = higher seed, etc)
A prelim match of some Danganronpa characters- we had "the entirety of the Danganronpa cast" submitted, but it went against the "only one character per submission" rule, BUT if we have some prelim matches, the winner of that can fit nicely into the main bracket, and we think that's the most fair way to do it :D
I... think that's it! Once the Danganronpa Prelims are settled (look out for that sometime this week or weekend!), we'll have 128 lovely contestants... may the best blorbo win! Er... most dissociative blorbo...? Most swag...? ... Idk but May they win!!!

So we'd like to start by saying... oops.
So we accidentally vastly overestimated the amount of free time we'd have this October. By, like, a lot. With our brother's wedding and moving to our new house, we've had extremely little free time. Like- just getting an hour to chill is considered lucky, that's how little free time we're working with. So, yeah, haven't been able to focus on this blog as much...
But good news, we're finishing the move this weekend! So we're hoping (for real this time) to have things ready to go sometime in November!!!
Back to (slightly) bad news, all of the moving around has caused me to strain my dominant wrist a bit... which is not ideal for both moving and also trying to assemble a whole 128-size bracket. Don't worry, we think it's only a minor strain, but we have to take it easy on our wrist to avoid potentially doing some serious damage to it (doing a doodle was pushing our luck but yknow XD). So again, probably nothing till November, but November should be better!
Thank you for your patience, even though it's taking longer than expected we swear we really REALLY want to run Round 2! And we're super excited to have that going, even if it takes a bit <:)

To Include or Not To Include: Every Computer Lab from IRL
One of the submissions we got was Every Computer Lab from IRL with the following comment:
"Today I learned that in Computer Science, a computing system is a group of computers, often in one place, with shared storage working on the same task/goal. Human systems are also, most often, a group of entities in one place with shared storage working on the same goal. This is a fucking reach but it's funny okay. My silly little computer lab is just like us fr fr"
While this TECHNICALLY breaks the "fictional characters only" rule, it also doesn't involve any real life people... and personally, I find it hilarious and love this entry. But I'll leave it up to all of you, if yes it'll be in the bracket with everyone else, if no, it at least got me to chortle :)
