Hey gang, cool news
So it's me, Tristan Fox aka Azazel aka AkaviriKenshin aka Azalea the Screamo Princess and a slew of other identities that only go to show how divided my sense of self is.
I have some spectacular news! Some of you might recall that a few months ago I began making YouTube videos. I stopped because of my mental health and some technical factors but I come bearing wonderful news!
Tumblr media
My YouTube videos are returning! I am remaking my first two videos to fit my new format, which if I were to describe is a mix of Zero Punctuation, Sam O'Nella Academy, and Neurotically Yours with an emocore/scenecore/mall-goth twist (suddenly the Foamy the Squirrel comparison feels redundant...)
If you want to hear my takes on Nine Volt Heart (the lost MCR song), the philosophy behind Black Veil Brides, the rise of the Scene Revival, essential albums of certain genres I like (emo, goth, black metal and more), the history of said genres, an analysis on crunkcore, a retrospective on creepypastas and more... stay tuned!
I'm in the process of remaking my first two videos and after that I'll post my brand new content afterwards. I hope you're as excited as I am about this new direction I'm going with! You can find my channel here along with my old videos.

Hey guys! I have fantastic news! First of all, I made a brand new video about a lost My Chemical Romance song called Nine Volt Heart and it would really mean a lot if you guys checked it out! Heres the link!
The other news is that I am going to be turning a lot of my old posts and Emo Amino blogs into videos on my new channel, AkaviriKenshin! If you guys would subscribe and stay tuned it would really mean a lot to me also! I plan on shining a light on obscure artists on there with full EP and album reviews, band history videos, and tons of other stuff in that whole vein.

Emo-Scene-FM News
This is Tristan, formerly known as Azalea. Late last year and a good chunk of this year was pretty rough for me, guys, not gonna lie. I went through a really horrible breakup with a girl I was with for four years, almost five, serious depressed and suicidal episodes, it was just a really bad time. I tried changing everything about myself. I wanted to run away from everything just to cope and maybe get back what I lost. The blog was entrusted with Edie while I was gone.
I’m back to being my old self again. It took me a lot of time to get better. It took me a long time to accept what happened. Now that I’ve been doing a lot better I want to return to doing what makes me happy.
But what makes me happy? Flat ironing my hair makes me happy. Putting on black eyeliner and pink eyeshadow makes me happy. Wearing band shirts and skinny jeans and studded belts makes me happy. Making designs for my redbubble store makes me happy. Spending time with my boyfriend, Ashton, makes me happy. Taking selfies makes me happy. Obsessing over old 2000s graphics, design philosophies, and online media makes me happy.
Most of all, talking about the music I love makes me happy. I wanted to extend my love of obscure emo-scene (scemo if you will) to the masses of tumblr’s emo, scenecore, and scene revival community.
I’m going to be resuming this blog but I’m making some serious changes. First and foremost, I am deleting all of my old posts and would appreciate it if you didn’t share them anymore. This is because I loathe the cumbersome nature of the lengthy posts appearing in people’s feed. I feel like it’s off-putting and annoying for people. Also my writing has improved a lot since I made these.
I have a new system in place. What I’m going to be doing is saving all of my old blog posts, rewriting them, and instead of posting them in their entirety as a blog post, I will be making separate pages on this blog for each band. I’ll be posting custom made promo images for each band, a brief description, and a link to the band’s page on this blog. So that way if something changes with the band or I make a mistake, it can be edited without an incorrect version being spread around online.
It’ll take me some time to save everything and do all of this but it’ll definitely be worth it in the end. I want to breathe life into this blog again for all 755 of you! It’s twentyninescene and we’re entering the rawring twenties soon.
Stay tuned for more. It’s great to be back, and I missed this all so much!

A Decision
I'm still going to run this blog, I genuinely still want to make articles. However there are bands I was asked to cover on here that I can't personally get completely into and therefore I can't really do them any justice in a full article. So I was thinking about doing masterposts of several different bands for you to try out and I can write a paragraph for each of them about what they're like with a little bit of their history and some song recs to get you started.
And then I can make big articles for the bands that I do love that are under the emo/scene umbrella. Personally I admit this blog has been a little hard to run due to different non-emo related music hyperfixations getting in the way, and also the amount of schoolwork I've been having to do. But I genuinely still care for the scene even if I've been expanding my tastes, and want to give you guys a good listening experience like this blog was made to do.
I'll start off the little paragraph masterposts with three new bands soon. I hope you will all enjoy it.

Hello everyone! I don’t exactly want to self promo again, but since I’m currently working on new material. I want to be able to get as much promotion out of MWB as possible while it’s still mostly relevant. This is a link to a YouTube playlist so you can listen to it on there, but I’ll be posting the links to other popular listening services so you can stream from there cause I’m currently trying to get to one hundred listeners, especially on Spotify and Soundcloud.
I know I’m very popular in this community for aesthetic posts, but I’d love to be known for my music too! Especially the lovely scenecore community who this EP is mostly dedicated to. <3
If you have some time in your day, please show me some support and leave some likes and comments. Love you all.

Here are the Spotify links to my music, and also a more in depth look at what all the songs mean as well. I'm currently trying to reach a goal of at least 1000 streams so please help me out if you can. Thank you for all the support that I have so far though! <3
Hello everyone, it’s been a while since i’ve posted about music here. But i’m super duper happy to say that i’ve definitely gone places sinces I released the first version of You Left Me.
Since then I have put out the whole EP that I have been working really hard on for this whole year and I have so many people to thank for helping me make that happen! However I have described it long enough on other posts on other social media. (But i’ll totally post some links to those posts later.)
What I want to talk about here are what these songs are about. On Tumblr here in this big community I have built for myself, I feel like I can be at my most intimate so that’s what i’m going to do. I’m going to tell you all what these songs are about. After all, since most of you here have only heard the one demo I posted on here, I think it’s about time you all needed an update.
So, the EP starts off with You Left Me. You all know what that’s about from my previous post and the meaning still obviously hasn’t changed, however this is a new version of You Left Me. After I released the first demo, I went into production to make a more refined and complete version. Still with as much of the heart that I intended to put in there.
Genuine Tears is my second track and second single off this EP (It was released a couple weeks before the whole EP’s release with the new You Left Me.) It’s a song about an incident of bullying in my life where I felt like my emotions and story weren’t believed by most people due to rumour spreading. Unfortunately some of those people who spread the rumours were actually people I considered my “friends”. I felt like I was framed as a villain when really I was the victim. Since then I have been very self conscious about how people view my personality because of this. I’m scared of coming off as too annoying, too clingy and in this case it seemed like I was too snitchy! Too honest! This is a song as wanting to be seen, not as a bad guy, but just as a human who deserved support from most people unfortunately in a time when people were refusing to give it.
I Can See You In The Fog, is the shortest track on the EP but it sure does get to the point easily. It’s about feeling unsafe in environments where I should have all the right to be. For the longest time, i’ve had to be around someone who doesn’t make me comfortable at all and it’s made me feel like they’ve always been out to get me. It makes me so anxious that I have to look around a lot and be alert at all times when they’re around. Sometimes I avoid certain places in general because I associate them with where that person always is. The song is about wanting to just relax and not feel like that for once and instead enjoy myself no matter where I have to be.
Dream Person isn’t about anyone in particular, but it’s just about a general feeling that me and i’m sure many others might relate to. Ever since I broke up with my last partner, there has been this big hole in me that feels like it can only be filled by a relationship. Most people who know me know how badly I want the hole to be filled. Everyday, I have fantasies about being in love with someone and someone being in love with me. Doing all the things that lovers do that i’ve never really experienced, that lots of others I know do way more than me. (I’ve only ever properly dated two people in my whole life.) My biggest want in a relationship, is to one day just wake up lying in someone’s embrace as the sun shines into my room through the window. This manifests in the dreams I have at night. In my dreams i’m always with someone, it doesn’t matter who, all that matters is that in the dream i’m finally happy. When I wake up, I feel like i’m being tricked whenever I see that I was just cuddling a pillow the whole time.
And yeah, long story short that’s the EP. I hope you all enjoy this songs as much as I was satisfied making them for you. I want people to be able to feel something hearing them and I want to be the one who’s music is there for you if you ever end up in a situation much like the ones i’ve been in.
Thank you for following me,
Edie Xx

Just a wee update
Ellooooooo everyone! I thought I'd just give you all a lil bit of an update on what I'm doing right now. Since I haven't rly posted any articles yet.
I promise I 'am working on them, I'm just a little bit more behind than I'd like to be because school just started for me again and I'm already getting homework :p. This year is gonna be my hardest workload ever cause it's my second to last year of school, and that's when my exams will be at their most intense cause these results really matter when it comes to university entry. (Which I myself am trying to get.)
However, I do have things up and coming that will be posted soon. Right now I'm doing articles for Dear Whoever and Mozart Season as they were another couple of bands I had reference and material to work with. Both from Tristan and a lovely friend of his (who I will credit for all the info/references I have received when I publish the post.) after that, I plan on doing a Cobra Starship article cause I loveeeeeee them and I have heaps of knowledge on their background and stuff. In between all of these articles, I also plan on posting a huge playlist that will contain one song from every single artist that has been covered on emo-scene-fm and it will update every time there's a new article.
Anywho... that's all I guess! I hope you're all having a good night/day wherever you are.
- Edie :)

Artist Name: These Hearts Genres: Post Hardcore, Easycore, Metalcore, Pop Punk, Emo Pop, Christian Hardcore, Melodic Hardcore Similar Artists: A Day To Remember, Taking Back Sunday, Fight Fair, Four Year Strong, Me vs Hero, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Can't Bear This Party, Set Your Goals, New Found Glory, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, From First To Last, We Are Defiance, Four Letter Lie Bio: I've been listening to this next band quite a lot recently. When I'm not teetering on the edge of everything I've been blasting this like I'm being paid to do it. These Hearts has been, and I can say this 100% honestly, the very best thing I've listened to in a while because of what it's done for my mood. I actually discovered a new subgenre of Post Hardcore because of these guys when I first discovered them. It's called "Easycore." Now at first glance it seems like an elitist phrase created by Fugazi and Husker Du loving snobs who don't like sharing the term Post Hardcore with anything in skinny jeans and swoopy hair but it actually isn't all that bad of a term. It's essentially the crossbreed of Post Hardcore, Metalcore, and Pop Punk which just so happen to be some of my three favorite things. If you're not familiar with this type of music, I feel like this along with Fight Fair are very good introductions to the style. Now, onto the band themselves. The band got started all the way back in the magical musical year of 2007 in Fargo, North Dakota. The original lineup consisted of Ryan Saunders as the lead vocalist, Daryl Van Beek on guitar, Isaih Folk on drums, and Skyler Patzer on Bass. Tom Westerholm would join them as a guitarist in 2008. Also in 2008 was their first independent release, a gorgeous EP called Mistakes and Second Takes that came out on September 16th. This EP contains the right amount of post hardcore intricacies and guitarwork, speed, screams, with all of the catchiness of Pop Punk. I'm not going to lie though, some of Ryan's vocals on this release is a bit of an aquired taste but they will either grow on you or you'll appreciate the growth he has in releases after this. His voice is somewhere between Sonny Moore and Kellin Quinn on the "I-don't-know-how-he-can-hit-that-note-o-meter". It's still a solid release with a nice piano interlude and some fantastic songs such as She'd like To Wear The Pants, But She Can't Fit Into Mine, the title track which felt like if Taking Back Sunday was a little more hardcore, and ending strong with Hats Off For Discontentment. In 2009 Skyler leaves the band and Kyle Colby joins as lead guitarist and backing vocalist. This year is when they put out a two track demo called the "Nada Demo." Somewhere around this time, the band was signed to Victory Records. Greg Gentzkow becomes the new bassist for the year of 2010 but it later replaced by Tyler Rice in 2011. On June 21st, 2011, the band puts out their first studio album Forever Ended Yesterday. With strong songs on this record like Apology Rejected, Denial Is Not Just A River In Egypt, Romans 15, Are You Mad?, and Live To The Point Of Tears, this also features a studio version of She's Like To Wear The Pants which is even better than the original. This album also has perhaps one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard, Thinking In Terms Of Two. Just go listen to it and feel the feels. In 2012 they put out the Elephant In The Room EP which features Denial and a new track called The Inconvienience along with some acoustic tracks. There are many faith-based elements to the lyrics of These Hearts, as they were a Christian hardcore band. I feel like it's worth mentioning at this point that although they were a Christian band, they're probably some of the coolest types of Christians ever and it's never overbearing or judgemental. It's overt and proud, but not toxic. I felt like saying that since sometimes religion can be a bit of a sore subject with some people who listen to hardcore music, especially those who were raised in Conservative environments. There's nothing toxic about These Hearts, in fact it's totally encouraging and positive if anything. I consider myself someone of faith so music like this really makes me happy, but I feel like non-Christians can enjoy These Hearts just as much. In 2013 they'd put out Yours To Take on July 19th before disbanding, but not before being a breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, peaking at No. 36 on the Christian Albums chart and 33 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. By this point Ryan's vocals improved greatly and so did the musicianship. The easycore sound on this album are absolutely killer with all of the speed and catchiness you'd ever want. Whenever I've been down (which I have been a LOT as of late by the way) I've listened to These Hearts. It's been great driving music but even greater singing into my hairbrush music. I'm definitely proud to admit that I'm a massive fan of this band and if you give them a chance, I doubt they'll disappoint you. EDIT: Tristan had originally taken this post down after harassment from another user regarding the problematic things that Ryan Saunders has done in the past. (He has since apologised though apparently) I'd just like to let everyone know that both me and Tristan do not condone or excuse the actions of Ryan Saunders. Nor do we support his questionable political views. This post was made purely to appreciate the music the band had created, while separating the art from the artist. I'd like to make a disclaimer that in a few future posts I'll potentially be covering artists who may have done problematic things. Whether I'm aware of it or not, if I know an artist is really problematic I will indeed clarify it in the post about them. If I don't know if they're problematic, please message me privately (in a polite way) and I can add a disclaimer like this one. Remember that if I cover a problematic artist, I'm purely doing a post to appreciate the talent of their music or other members who've worked with them and not to condone their bad actions. I hope you guys understand. Anyway... go check out the discography for These Heart's music down here. Introducing Myself :)
Hello everybody, my name is Edie and I will be the new moderator for emo-scene-fm
I'm a 16 year old scene girl and my main blog is @xx-fangz-up-2006-xx I post mostly scenecore, emocore, lovecore, horror and punk aesthetics up there and I occasionally delve into kidcore/dirtcore too. If any of you are into that then you can definitely follow me there too.
If you think I sound familiar, it's because I'm actually one of the musicians that Tristan has done a bio on and I go by Edie VC on all platforms (Spotify, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Apple Music etc.) I make indie rock music inspired by the late 2000s myspace independent music scene and 90's Midwest emo. I currently have one EP out that is called Made With Blingee, and I currently have plans to make more music soon. 10/10 check me out if you have some time! I even have SCOTTY FREAKING VANITY'S tick of approval so yea... haha, y'all go do that.
My favourite types of music under the "scene" umbrella are 90's Midwest, 2000's emo pop punk and MySpace indie. My favourite bands/artists are Panic! At The Disco (mostly their older music), The Academy Is... (we don't stan William the thot(TM) in this household though.), My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Taking Back Sunday, The Promise Ring, Sunny Day Real Estate, American Football, The Juliana Theory, Bright Eyes, The Used, Straylight Run, Mae, Hey Monday, Cobra Starship, Waterparks, Mindless Self Indulgence, Courage My Love, Fall Out Boy (once again, mostly their older songs), The Postal Service, Nickasaur, November Blessing (Tristan actually introduced me to the latter two) and so much more, and I don't limit myself to just music under the "scene" umbrella either. On the side I also love indie music (partially cause the music I was raised on mostly came from the student indie stations.), punk (riot grrrl mostly! I'm a sucker for some good feminist bops.) and pop (but mostly 2000's-early 2010's pop.)
Now... in terms of what I'll be posting. The first thing I'll be doing is uploading all the finished band bios that Tristan has sent me but hasn't uploaded yet. After that, I'll finish making bios for some recommendations of Tristan's that he didn't finish and also plenty of my own too. (But only smaller bands because I'm staying true to this blog's purpose and only posting about artists that don't have huge followings already.) this will be actually quite educational to me as well surprisingly because there are quite a few bands that not even I have listened to! I'll also be carrying out a few non biography related posts that Tristan wanted to do for this blog but couldn't.
I hope you guys enjoy my new contributions for this account and have a lot of fun discovering new music or even falling in love with older music you forgot from your past scene phase.
Stay random :D XD
Edie
(PS: if anyone wants to reblog this post to promo this account please do that! That would be lovely. :))

I am happy to announce that this blog will be continued! It’ll now be managed by @xx-fangz-up-2006-xx, aka Edie (who I made a post about previously.) She has very good taste in music and is very enthusiastic to get started. I’m leaving her with some of what I have left over from my run on this blog but I know she’ll also do a ton of new stuff too!
This is my last post. It’s been a blast sharing music with you all! Azalea Tristan, signing out.

I feel like since I made this blog to discuss scene music, I need to share this. For obvious reasons I never will promote BOTDF on this blog. I've even thrown shade at Dahvie a few times on other posts (cookie if you find them). This is the only time I'll directly talk about Dahvie Vanity on emo-scene-fm because it's all that I have to say.
It's a real shame that the media is only talking about this just now. Hes been doing this for years. These things got brushed under the rug for too long, and Dahvies masterful manipulation on his SGTCult didnt make things any easier. I am thankful that something as mainstream as the Huffington Post is talking about this at all. I am disappointed that we couldnt have stopped him sooner but late is better than never.
Share this article on all of your social media. Spread the word about what scum he is. Message the websites that host his stores. Bury him. See to it that after over a decade he finally comes face to face with the consequences that have long awaited him.
Your days are numbered, Torres. You’re fucking finished. Your decade long scheme of exploiting bandmates, scamming fans, plagiarism, abusing collaborators, ripping off friends, grooming children and sexually assaulting women is coming to a close.
You don’t have the SGTC anymore. You don’t have Fallon anymore. You have nothing to hide behind anymore.
You’re an embarrassment to the world of music, you’re an embarrassment to the scene, and you’re an embarrassment to anybody who ever used to like you and gave you a chance to think that you were more than scum. Rot in hell.
