Another story about Kuron, at the begining of S7 when they are in the journey to Earth

Kuron comes to Keith’s dream to say goodbye to Keith

—“I am sorry Keith… The only thing I left you, is just the scar…with your pain…”

—“Takashi Shirogane loves you…And I love you too…”

Kuron finally gives up his body, and let the real Shiro awakes, and back to normal

Just… The SCAR Kuron left to Keith, would be the last thing he left in the world, other than his body….

I loved Kuron, I didn’t trust the clone theory before , and I even wrote sth before S6 trying to convince me that the Kuron was the Shiro, and everything would be fine 

Then S6 broke my heart..

I draw another comic early in June telling the story about the Kuron (comic <TRUST>) then here comes another one, the <SCAR>

I think what bothers me so much about the “Allura is just being used as a prize for Lance!” argument is that it’s stripping Allura of all the romantic agency she actually does have in canon. Allura makes her own romantic choices. She takes her time to deliberate, or she dives in headfirst, or she hesitates. She makes good decisions and bad decisions and mistakes.

But ultimately, all of Allura’s choices are her own, and all of them have some amount of sense behind them, good or bad.

The trope of a girl being a prize for the guy just because he became a better person is a trope that’s all about the girl having no agency. She falls in love, supposedly, and it’s often despite conflicts of opinion, lack of common interests, or any other good reason to be interested beyond “He won his fight and is maybe kinda cute.” Hell, the most standard form of the trope is a king offering the hero his daughter’s hand in marriage, regardless of the princess’s actual feelings on the subject. Even in more modern forms of the trope, a woman who was Better than the hero and taught him ends up Lesser and falls in love with him anyway because… he earned it by managing to become better than her? Which isn’t what happens in VLD, since Allura is continuously painted as amazing and Lance’s skills are in completely different areas, making them complementary elements of a team rather than competitive ones.

And Allura… does have feelings. She does have things in common with Lance; she probably has more in common with him than any other paladin, in terms of shared interests! She gets along with him, and they fight well together, and she’s of interest to him so much that he actively betters himself out of a belief that he isn’t good enough for her.

All the power in whether the romance happens is in Allura’s hands. It’s all her choice. Neither the circumstances nor the narrative force her into this romance.

Her falling in love with Lance makes sense, if you want to look at it under the terms of what does or does not count as a “reward for becoming a better person” trope. I can’t say that it’s always well-developed, but there’s a basis for the romance to move forward that has nothing to do with Allura being objectified.

You could view Lance as a prize for Allura for healing from her traumas just as easily as you could view Allura as a prize for Lance for managing to de-fuckboy himself.  They’re both looking for and deserve someone like the other, who’ll love and support them through thick and thin. That’s not a prize. That’s just… happiness. Goals. Love.

TL;DR Whether you like Allurance or not, the idea that Allura is being used as a “prize” for Lance’s development into a better person is completely missing the full scope of Allura’s agency as a character and the mutually positive base on which a relationship could be, and is being, built.
