Dunk and Joong could have offered me anything in 2024, and I would have taken it, gladly, no questions because my ass is a Jaidee fan first and a human second. But to hand me The Heart Killers? Oh! Let me list all the reasons y'all gonna hate me when this comes out.

Joong plays Khao's older brother

Khaotung is older than Joong, but in BL Land that doesn't matter because Khao is playing the hopeless romantic little brother while Joong is playing his stern older brother. Someone already wrote it was 10 Things I Hate About You/The Taming of the Shrew, and Shakespeare would be thrilled to know one of his masterpieces is getting the queer treatment and it's not Twelfth Night.

Dunk is playing the crazy seducer

Boy wants a car and is willing to go to great lengths to do it, including distracting some dude, so his buddy can play house with that dude's little brother. But the whole point is they had to find a guy who was crazy enough to accept the offer in the first place >insert Dunk's character< so the guy isn't just wanting the car. He is doing this for the thrill of getting tied up, stripped down, and threatened.

And I respect that.

Jojo is apparently directing

I wanna have beef with Jojo after Only Friends, then I look at his resume and remember this is the man who gave me puppy play in The Warp Effect, poly in 3 Will Be Free, and a chaotic stripper named Judo in Dirty Laundry PLUS the YinWar trailer for their Partner in Crime concert which has now lead to YinWar doing Jack & Joker, so as a vegetarian, I'm gonna be like Elsa and let that go.

Which means Rath is probably the cinematographer

I don't give men compliments easily, so when I state that Cinematographer Rath has never disappointed me, I mean it. The man knows what he is doing, and if he is in on this series, I know if anything, it will be visually stunning.

First and Khao being the Beyonce of GMMTV

I'm in Jaidee's corner always, but I have eyes and First and Khao could really do whatever they want and I'd eat it up. I have believed them with whomever they have been partnered with in the past, and if they want to play high schoolers in an oppressed school system or a banker willing to see his ex and his ex's new man just to flirt with the boy from the market, I'm buying the tickets, I'm sitting in the front row, and I'm holding up homemade posters. Basically, I'm shutting the fuck up and experiencing whatever they want me to experience.

First and Khao tears

This is its own category because when they cry, they are in a league of their own. They claimed this series was going to be lighter than their previous work, but what is a First or Khao series without tears? I hope they are drinking water right now because someone is crying in this series, and JD's faces are already wet for other reasons.

DUNK'S BODY!

Not to objectify the man's body, but . . . it's a banger, and he has been done dirty by wardrobe for two solid years. His face card never declines. His arms are solid. His waist is snatched. His hair is perfect. Even Tay, New, and Jan were talking about him in the BTS for Peaceful Property because they were saying how New's character was based off of Dunk - pretty, fashionable, and COCKY! But wouldn't we all be that cocky if we were walking around looking like this?! Like shut up fives. A ten is speaking!

It's high time that man got to stunt like Force always does just taking off his shirt for no reason. Good for him. And good for us.

Gmmtv part 2 thoughts (since I like to scream into the void)

- ossan’s love: I’m more on board after how well they did cherry magic. I still think EarthMix was a good choice. Also I was trying to focus on the actors talking but I was so distracted by how pretty Mix is

-I don’t watch the straight stuff but I do like Gun and Pond a whole lot so I might get on board with Leap Day

-the heart killers: khaofirst, Joongdunk, Jojo. I will watch, no explanation needed. I would also watch anything First is in because I am a nothing if not a First simp. Add in my slight dunk obsession and khaotung and Joong and I am excited.

-friendshit forever? Interesting name. Oh hi Boun. I’m starting to wonder if New knows how buttons work. No complaints, just an observation

At least with a confession, there can be a farewell

@wen-kexing-apologist pointed out the parallels in episode nine of Qian reading Yuan's goodbye letters with one stating that Yuan would return from his exile to say farewell, and the other admitting he would regret not being able to say farewell as he faced death.

But even in the exhaustion from witnessing each other almost die, Yuan still takes care of Qian by opening his door and giving him a drink to calm his nerves, yet unlike the past were Yuan's constant text message went unanswered, Qian actually responds to Yuan and looks him in his face to tell Yuan exactly why he is upset.

So the choice to have Yuan walk back to his room with the note that carried his last thoughts and confess to Qian that even when faced with the possibility of death, all he thought about was Qian because all he has ever thought about his entire life is Qian . . .

The choice to have Yuan put distance between them in this moment when it was Qian who originally put distance between them by sending Yuan away and shutting him out, something Yuan brought up on the fishing trip . . .

Those choices were all for Qian because Qian's door was closed before Yuan walked in with the drink. Qian could get up and close it again reinforcing the distance he puts between him and Yuan. But Qian almost lost Yuan once and didn't even know. And now Qian almost lost Yuan a second time and couldn't do anything about it. Yet even after both events, Yuan still reaches out to Qian.

The first letter was a plea for Qian to let Yuan love him, but the second was a promise to Qian that Yuan would love him until his last breath whether he let him or not.

And Yuan was ready to fulfill that promise.

Because even though Yuan didn't tell Qian about the car or the avalanche, he has never hidden the fact that he loves Qian.

All Yuan has ever wanted is for Qian to know that he loves him. When Yuan first confessed, he got upset when Qian thought he was joking.

So he made sure Qian heard and understood him this time - I will never stop loving you. That's enough for me. Don't push me away.

The two letters sit in this moment because with a confession, there can be a farewell. The first asked Qian to let Yuan back in and allow Yuan to love him. The second stated Yuan would always love Qian no matter what. But just like the first confession, Qian did not feel the severity of Yuan's words until he was tormented with Yuan's absence.

Qian is not a man of words or emotions. He is a man of actions. And he has now been fully confronted with Yuan's love. Yuan was willing to die for Qian, but Qian already knows that even if Yuan wasn't there, Qian would still feel his love.

Yuan opened the door.

And it started the moment Qian told Yuan he could return to him.

So now it's time for Qian to close the distance.

Bonus: Lili let Yuan in. Lili gave Yuan the cactus. Lili told Qian that Yuan was gay. Just like Qian not realizing he brought Lili and San Pang together, Lili doesn't realize all the ways she helped Qian close the distance.

Maybe she can help him this time too.
