✩ FAVORITE CHARACTER MEME ✩ ↬ scenes: 4.13 “Pictures of You” [6/6]
How is that not good enough? I don't know you should ask my parents, considering they haven't called in a month. A month and a half, actually. Not a single call, or text, or email so what do you suppose that says about me?

The type of parents who argue that simply putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their kids' head is sufficient parenting are always so shocked when their children no longer want to deal with them once they've got their own place and can buy their own groceries. Like what else did you expect to happen? You told the people who had no other choice than rely on you for food and shelter that asking for any more than that is unreasonable of them, and then they don't go to you for anything once they can get those some other way. What would they go to their parents for?
They've got food at the house.

Anyone who thinks a rapist (any rapist) can be rehabilitated is an idiot.
No, I don't care if this is a "slippery slope" and doesn't fit in with your rehabilitative justice fantasies. A rapist should not be allowed to "reintegrate" into society because he went to bed in time and was polite to guards in jail.

Something I’ve noticed is that the features in men that are commonly considered attractive to heterosexual women are signifiers of being an adult, like being tall, having a deep voice, being muscular, having a stubble, etc. while the features in women that are commonly considered attractive by heterosexual men are features that are signifiers of being a child, like being small, having little to no body hair, having high pitched voices, having completely “smooth” skin, etc.

To all young people out there: Don't waste your time on someone who doesn't love you back. No matter how amazing they are. Don't pine and online stalk and cry and mourn for someone who has no interest in you, no matter how much a part of your culture that seems to be. Find someone that puts in effort for you, that shows up for you, that buys you flowers and writes letters for you and is deeply in love with you and cares about you. If you're young, you might cling to your first emotional experiences, but this person is gonna come around one day and you will know what you deserve, to not look too long at people that don't matter.

“I felt I did not fit in with queer spaces because I simply was not queer enough… I still often feel the same alienation, which I have come to realise is common to many bisexual people… But I am not straight. And finally I had to approach that from a purely individual level - divorced from any group identification or allegiance or paradigm - to realise and embrace it. I had to follow what felt right only for me, without the guidelines of religion or the stereotypes of society interfering.”
- Dany Carter, The Bi-ble: an anthology of personal essays and narratives about bisexuality

“I’ve always known there was something different about me. That part was never confusing - a word so often used to minimise and reduce bisexual people and our experiences. It was just how everyone else treated me and expected me to behave that was confusing.”
- Mel Reeve, The Bi-ble: an anthology of personal essays and narratives about bisexuality

personally I think the obsession with anti-aging is particularly heinous when every single day we’re seeing people in many different countries be murdered by the hundreds. I’m sure all the children currently worried about being killed would give anything to be able to turn 40 someday, meanwhile in the west we’re on tiktok whining about how aging past 25 is literally the worst thing that could possibly happen to a woman

there’s this barista who I guess went viral on tiktok (caitlin campbell) and she seems perfectly nice but her instagram comments are full of thousands upon thousands of males of all ages making fun of her weight, meanwhile you’ve got women on here making squishy tummy appreciation posts for men. we’re cooked I fear
