Imp Species Dominance Headcanons - Helluva Boss.

As frivolous as these thoughts are, I’ve got to dump my thoughts somewhere! My general headcanon for now is that Imps are the predominant native species in Hell and occupy every single ring to some degree. Here’s my ranking of each ring based upon how what I believe to house the largest population of Imps.

Wrath - Pretty self-evident, but it’s theorized and implied in-universe that Wrath is the origin of all Imps, with their diminutive races all developing from natural selection after they migrated to other rings and adapted to their conditions. Additionally, we haven’t seen any other species confirmed to have originated from Wrath, yet Striker (a Wrath native) is a canonical hybrid between Imp and… something else we don’t know yet, so I think it’s pretty safe to say that there are other minority species in Wrath as well.

2. Pride - numerous Imp colonies such as Imp City have been established throughout Pride, so it’s a safe bet that Imps compose a substantial enough of a population there to necessitate the creation of cities.

3. Lust - There appears to be a strong genetic overlap between the native succubi/incubi of Lust and Imps, possibly due to centuries of crossbreeding, so I believe that Imps largely inhabit Lust as well.

4. Greed - In both “Exes and Oohs” and “Oops”, a sizeable Imp population was mixed in with the native demonic shark species, as were a few other species. Aside from the sharks, I believe Imps are the second largest population in Greed.

5. Gluttony - Our only glimpse of the Gluttony ring was in “Queen Bee”, which displayed an obviously dominant Hellhound species with the addition of and few Imps here and there, signifying that Imps most likely reside there as either the second largest species or a minority there.

6. Sloth - We haven’t seen much from the Sloth ring yet, but I think it’s a fair assumption that Imps are a minority species there, given how Blitzø was the only Imp seen during the entirety of his and Loona’s stay at the hospital, and that the dominant species are “candlehead” demons like that nurse Blitzø got snappy with.

7. Envy - We haven’t officially seen anything from Envy yet, but if it’s truly just an endless, expansive ocean like the subtext indicates, then I imagine other species would have a very tough time migrating to that environment. However, I believe it’s possible that small plots of land, such as beaches, could be littered throughout Envy, which might serve as a silver lining for all non-oceanic demons, not just Imps, to reside on.

Just Who’re These Two Fellas?

Angel’s two costars in one of his videos during the Poison sequence really caught my eye for their designs. There’s quite a bit of color and detail put into them, and I hope these designs won’t be wasted and we’ll see them once again in the show. Perhaps they’re part of Angel’s small group of work friends that Viv mentioned giving him? Only time will tell.

Anyways, since we won’t be getting any confirmation for a while, I’ll just go ahead and start going full-fandom by giving them names and headcanon characteristics. Hope ya enjoy!

Alright, the rabbit-looking one to Angel’s left I’ve named Autumn.

Headcanons:

His human name was Ethan.

He’s a 100% gay man.

Similar to Angel, he had a flamboyant flare to his personality and is fond of fashion.

Died in the late 1980s in his early to mid 20’s in a gay bashing after leaving a gay bar with a male companion. His companion survived and escaped, leaving him behind.

Once he spawned in Hell, he spent his first few years working as a street prostitute until being picked up by Valentino one day, who offered him a place as one of his pornstars in his studio- so longed as he signed a contract, of course.

Autumn has worked for Valentino ever since, receiving similar treatment to Angel from Val, but not as severe nor frequent. He’s pretty submissive to Val overall.

Had a major crush on Angel prior to doing a shoot with him and got pretty excited when Angel gave him “the look” during Poison.

His sins were Lust, Pride, and Envy.

Now that I’ve got Autumn covered, let’s move onto the goat-looking dinner to Angel’s right that I’ve named Hyacinth. Headcanons:

His human name was Hudson.

He has a sensual, yet “innocent” demeanor. He’s also rather quiet and reserved off-camera.

Also a 100% gay man.

Was of French descent in life and can speak French to a degree.

His favorite color was purple, and that manifested in his sinner appearance.

He also loves flowers, given his name.

Had a soft, “feminine” demeanor that caused him to be bullied in life.

He likes pets/scratches behind his goat ears.

Died in the 1990s in his early to mid 20’s from a natural disaster.

Once he respawned in Hell, he served as a waiter in a restaurant. One day, Valentino attended this restaurant and, after being served by Hyacinth and seeing his potential, offered him a role at the studio. Hyacinth figured it was better than being a minimum wage waiter, so he agreed to sign the contract.

Is docile and submissive in personality, so rarely is ever at the mercy of Val’s aggression. I’d also treated like a pet by Val.

Understands his disarming appearance and uses this to his advantage to assess a situation and see how he can make the most out of it.

Is a vegetarian.

His sins were Lust and Sloth.

What do you think Angel Dust and Vox’s relationship is like?

Prior to the show airing, the fandom seemed to have an affinity for the idea that Angel Dust and Vox could find common ground through their abusive relationships with Valentino, with a ship arising from this idea that had moderate popularity. Nor that season one is out, and it’s clear that Vox isn’t some type of victim of Val (that we know of), it’s safe to say this idea and subsequent ship is dead in the water. But that’s got me wondering: what is their relationship like? Surely they’ve crossed paths with each other throughout the years, both being close associates of Val. Personally, I think Angel and Vox are either indifferent towards or dislike each other, seeing the other as a sort of “obstacle” in different ways. What do you guys think their dynamic is going to be like, if it’s explored at all? I’m curious for everyone’s thoughts.

Velvette’s Villainy - Hazbin Hotel

You know what would be a good way to make Velvette more heinous in season two? Utilizing her position as an influencer to create a smear campaign against the Hazbin Hotel once the Vees inevitably decide to actively work against it. Hell, perhaps Velvette could even use her online presence to destroy a sinner’s reputation or bully them into suicide (I believe suicide happens in Hell when a sinner uses an Angelic weapon against themselves or stands out in the open on extermination day, waiting to be killed by an exterminator). This would prove Velvette’s worthiness as a big antagonistic force akin to Vox and Valentino and would also dispel much of the noise claiming that Velvette could be redeemed, which I highly doubt will be the case.

I don’t even know how to title this…

In honor of today being April 1st, I’ve decided to make the best/worst confession ever made of any DRA fan.

See, it all started when I first discovered Kojiro Otori, Teruya’s father, through Teruya’s FTEs. Then, I saw Kojiro’s portrait on Teruya’s character sheet after completing the game.

Then, I first heard of Juu Kinjo, Tsurugi’s father, during the 6th class trial when Utsuro revealed he’d gone crazy and cannibalized Kouhei Sasaki’s corpse (AhemAhem).

After the game ended, I went online and saw Tsurugi’s character sheet and a portrait of Juu kinjo in the corner. This is when I thought, “Huh, two dads whose sons attend the same school and both fell into despair…”

All of this to say: I ship Juu Kinjo x Kojiro Otori.

I know what you’re thinking, but I promise this began as a crack ship that slowly became serious the more I thought about it. I mean, two (presumably) single dads who’ve polar opposite dynamics and personalities?! If they both happen to lean a certain way (which I headcanon Kojiro actually does, since I also headcanon Teruya as a fruity bastard) then it might work! Granted, both are dead as shit in canon, but that doesn’t mean I can’t ruminate over lost possibilities!

DRA Character Sexuality Headcanons

I’ll just be making a brief list of what sexual orientation I believe each character from the first Danganronpa Another game has. Remember, I’m not condemning anyone who disagrees with my interpretation or has a different headcanon of a character. I believe everyone is entitled to their own headcanon, even if it blatantly contradicts canon, and you don’t attack others who don’t share the same headcanon as you.

Kiyoka Maki: heterosexual.

Kiyoka spends her last FTE worrying about who’ll be a suitable boyfriend if they don’t escape, so that’s basically my justification for this interpretation.

Mitsuhiro Higa: heterosexual.

Yeah, I don’t think much explanation is needed: he sexually harasses Akane in chapter 1 and brags about how many girls he gets in his FTEs. I understand why some may interpret him as an in-denial homosexual, if only to take the piss out of him, but I don’t see it that way. Mitch is a pretty transparent character, so I doubt something as deep as that is applicable to him.

Kizuna Tomori: heterosexual.

Some see her as a repressed lesbian, which I understand why, but I see her as more of a “straight girl with severe issues in her relationship to men”. Plus, I take into account the FTEs, so Kizuna’s implied attraction to Yuki by her last FTE is indicative of her sexuality to me.

Ayame Hatano: Bisexual.

I forever headcanon Ayame is in love with Akane, but her last FTE has her blushing at Yuki, so I interpret her as a girl-leaning Bisexual.

Kakeru Yamaguchi: Bisexual.

I wholeheartedly ship Kakeru x Kanata (Kakenata? Kanakeru? Yamanori?), so that’s part of it, but Kakeru also gives major guy-liker vibes, so there you go. I also semi-ship Kakeru and Kinji, so that’s further fuel to the fire.

Kanata Inori: heterosexual.

As I just said, Kakeru x Kanata is OTP for me, and that’s all the justification I need.

Kinji Uehara: Pansexual.

This might sound unexpected, but I see Kinji as such an open-minded and big-hearted person that he wouldn’t consider the gender of his partner, even if his religion prevents him from entering any romantic relationships.

Haruhiko Kobashikawa: heterosexual.

Similar story with Mitch, except Haru isn’t nowhere near as creepy. Sure, some think he’s got some homoeroticism with Yuki in his FTEs, but his obsession with the female gender leaves me skeptical of that.

Satsuki Iranami: Pansexual.

Similar to Kinji, I believe Satsuki’s such a pure-hearted person that she wouldn’t even think about her partner’s gender. Still, Satsuhiko for the win!

Yamato Kisaragi: Pansexual.

Literally the exact same explanation with Kinji and Satsuki, only I think he’s got a preference for men.

Mikako Kurokawa: Biromantic Demisexual.

Being the mysterious and quiet girl she is in-game, I doubt Mikako would consider dating someone unless she’s built a secure, trusting relationship with them. However, I’m unsure whether this would apply to pre-game Mikako.

Teruya Otori: homoflexible.

Now, I just can’t unsee Teruya liking other guys, but I also headcanon that Teruya developed feelings for Rei between the time they escaped and pre-SDRA2, so I compensated roughly down the middle.

Akane Taira: Heteroflexible.

I view Akane as predominantly being attracted to men, but may make some exceptions for a girl or two (perhaps Ayame would fit the bill 👀)

Yuki Maeda: Heteroflexible.

Similar to Akane, he seems to be a woman-liker, but I’ve no problem with the idea of him getting together with the right man (*cough*KINJO*cough*). In regards to Utsuro, I think he’s either AroAce or Demisexual.

Rei Mekaru: Panromantic Demisexual.

See, I believe Rei would have an extremely difficult time with getting vulnerable enough with someone to consider dating them, but once a trusting relationship is established, I don’t think she’d care about her partner’s gender.

Tsurugi Kinjo: Biromantic Demisexual.

Similar to Rei, except Tsurugi may have a preference for men, given that he spent much of his backstory and post-SDRA2 presence being defined by his relationships to other men.
