I mean, let's face it, this is something that you kind of suck if you eat them. Because of all the sauce. You kind of suck it off of the bones or whatever when you're done eating the actual chicken.
Definitely counts

This is very very well said and people should listen
Hey btw, here's a piece of life advice:
If you know what you'd have to do to solve a problem, but you just don't want to do it, your main problem isn't the problem itself. Your problem is figuring out how to get yourself to do the solution.
If your problem is not eating enough vegetables, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make vegetables stop being yucky". If your problem is not getting enough exercise, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make exercise stop sucking ass". You're not supposed to just be doing things that are awful and suck all the time forever, you're supposed to figure out how to make it stop being so awful all the time.
I used to hate wearing sunscreen because it's sticky and slimy and disgusting and it feels bad and it smells bad, so I neglected to wear it even if I needed to. Then I found one that isn't like that, and doesn't smell and feel gross. Problem solved.
There is no correct way to live that's just supposed to suck and feel bad all the time. You're allowed to figure out how to make it not suck so bad.

The Islamic Origins of the Jedi
Ramadan starts in a few days so I figured that now was a great time to talk about this!
(Disclaimer: My point here isn’t to detract from other sources of inspiration that GL used to create the Jedi, but simply to point out another, lesser known one that many often overlook or intentionally refuse to acknowledge.)
I’m Muslim. My family follows the Hanafi madhab, and the guidance of the Naqshbandi order of Sufi masters, mystics, and teachers. I’m by no means an expert or a scholar, but the Sufi theology and view of the Divine is so clearly prevalent as one of the many inspirations for the Force and the Jedi, that it’s hard to get ignore - and it’s hard to watch while people choose to ignore it.
For starters, we know that during his research for the films, George Lucas met and consulted with the Habibiyyah Sufi order in California. He asked questions and learned what they believed.
Something else that’s hard to ignore is the robes that the Jedi wear! I know they’re commonly thought to be inspired by other origins, but I’d like to point out that the traditional Sufi robes look similar to the Jedi as well.

Still not convinced?
Let’s look at the origins of the word ‘Jedi’. While most believe that it comes from the word ‘jidaigeki’, as GL has mentioned in passing, there is an Arabic equivalent that’s translated to fit the meaning of the Jedi Order with surprising accuracy.
The word is Al-Jeddi, which translates to ‘master of the mystic warrior way’.
In an article released by a prominent Sufi Muslim order, ‘jeddi’ is mentioned by name and a definition that looks and sounds familiar to the Jedi Order of Star Wars and how the Force is viewed by them:
“We are, at our core, a Movement of Jeddi; Sufi masters of Futuwwat ("the Way of the mystic-warrior"). We encourage adherents to train both physically AND spiritually, for their own personal edification and to enhance their knowledge and abilities in the Struggle. The Balance does not lie alone in contemplation, prayer and meditation; nor does it lie alone in action and revolution.”
At the end of the day, we know that Star Wars appropriated from many, many sources that went mostly uncredited and ignored - in ways that had lasting and negative impacts on the peoples and cultures that served as inspiration - and this was one of them.
One of my biggest complaints about the appropriation present here is that it is an opportunity missed - a big one. There was an opportunity to educate, to help others understand what is often misunderstood, simply by being transparent about what you took, from whom, and most importantly, why.
So I’m sharing this with you now, because education is everything, and it is so, so important to be aware of examples of things like this in the media we consume!

I support the basic premise of this account, finding joy in ordinary or otherwise dull things. We're all slaving away to find the fantastic giant pile of joy at the end of whatever it is we're doing but there's little puddles of it laying around we can scoop up and drink right there or put in our pockets.
No I do not mind mixing metaphors or states of matter

I'm in on this 100%
I think we can safely commence with writing the fan fiction that incorporates whatever mythology or fictional works she has read where she derives this idea. I'm not saying she can't make it up herself, but generating fictional quasi-God people isn't really her speed. What does she know about the Emissary of the Prophets that we never find out on the show? Why didn't she tell him he has mental disintegration powers? I'm guessing there's a reason
My Star Trek headcanon is that Kira regularly daydreams various scenarios that all end with Sisko raising his arm and disintegrating Gul Dukat like Dr. Manhattan.

Oh yeah, this definitely tracks. Absolutely good advice
realizing that sticking to the "do it bad" "do it scared" mentality implies theres also a "do it bored"

Actually, I've been doing this writing thing where I take a THC gummy and write like crazy for several hours, just brainstorm my ass off, and it's phenomenal, although some of it is gobbledygook and it's all just stream of consciousness first drafts that need to be edited down later or even just basic ideas that need to be expanded; for one thing, it's all sorts of different genres. Ideas for stories, essays, books, movies, even paintings. And at one point I had an idea for an item to put on my to-do list and I did and it was super massively helpful and I now consider that absolutely a form of literature.
There's no reason literature can't be practical and helpful. It helps me

He may be asexual, or maybe he just hasn't met the person yet.
And when he does, get ready, because that Laiosh fixation is going to have a new target and I'm betting given the author's prior work that uncomfortability scale with the whole thing is going to rocket right up to 11
I see your "Laios is trans" but that dude is THE most apathetically agender person on the planet. Laios does not have time for gender. Laios does not even HAVE a gender identity, he removed it to make room for more Monster Facts.

Thank you for your story
I still remember the nurses who laughed at me after major spine surgery when I was walking around with my butt out because I didn't know to bring shorts to the hospital and wasn't allowed to double my gowns due to the incision location. I still remember the aid who told me that I smelled after days of being unable to move my limbs or get out of bed while sweating uncontrollably from spinal shock and agonizing pain. I sat and cried after that because I had overcome so much that hospital stay just to be dehumanized. Never did they ask if I wanted something to cover up or assistance bathing. Just laughed at me and joked with each other.
I also remember the nurse who checked on me extra during the night with a hospital stay in the middle of covid because they kicked my mom out and I have trauma about being in the hospital alone. She made extra visits to make sure I was okay just like she promised my mom. I remember the nurse who held my hand and called me honey as my limbs trashed and shook from spinal shock.
Basically being a good nurse and being a bad nurse to patients does stay with a person. It's been years and many other hospital stays since a lot of these instances and I still remember them clearly. I know nurses are burnt out, traumatized, and exhausted. Nurses deserve better treatment. But so do patients.

Hey so apparently this children's book author (formerly actor) named Dominic Thrasher was invited to read his book at a Catholic school to a bunch of kids and everything went fine, but then for no apparent reason a couple of weeks later the parish priest suddenly apologized to everybody because it turns out Dominic Thrasher is gay, but there was a kerfuffle about it in the community, and while I think it is fair to say that Mr. Thrasher "won" the disagreement, if that even means anything, by popular support, because ultimately the priest wound up resigning after a public outcry, even so stuff like this can be a rough thing to go through and I just wanted to say to Dominic Thrasher: hey bud, my niece loves your book, The Adventures of CeCe and the Sheriff: Country (Fur) Cousins, you bring happiness to a lot of kids and you help teach them to read, which is one of the greatest things to teach somebody in the whole world, and you're appreciated and thank you very much for your hard work and while I don't think Mr. Thrasher is on here he's on Instagram @79anchor so shout him out if you have the capability to do that.
A little constructive criticism on your book: sentences are too short
