A company called Swagnation is selling holster bags that are a direct ripoff of the bags that JungleTribe has been producing since 2008. If you wanted to purchase one of these bags, please buy them from the original designers here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JungleTribe
I love these bags: They are stylish and comfortable and have endured years of everyday use. They have dozens of other designs, too! It breaks my heart to see such a great product design get stolen.

I’ve been playing around with animating images in photoshop recently. These are my first two attempts, inspired by a korean fashion instagram I follow.
Lene Kilde, a sculptor based in Norway, creates works in which disparate body parts create fanciful scenes. At first glance, these sculptures may appear ominous or bleak, but further time spent with the work offers hints at wistful and youthful action. Or as Kilde says in a statement,“her intention is to invite the audience to use their own imagination so that they can complete the sculptures and fill in the lines and volume by themselves. The sculptures consist (of) concrete, metal mesh and air.”

My name is Michete, I’m a queer, transfemme artist and performer living in Seattle, WA. I work as a pizza delivery driver. A bit over 3 weeks ago, a fellow driver at my work ended up getting extremely angry at me over a small work-related misunderstanding and ended up threatening me in the parking lot during our shift. This man, Robert (a very large, tall, cishet white man from Montana) called me a “little bitch” and a “fag” and threatened me repeatedly, telling me he was going to beat the shit out of me, promising multiple times he’d follow through on those threats. I ended up leaving work immediately because I was so uncomfortable. I reported this incident to my managers, to corporate, and filed a police report, and within a couple days Robert was fired. I was initially scared to return to work because I knew he’d be angry about the situation and I knew he obviously knew where I worked, which made me feel very unsafe. After a while of my work shifts going normally, my fear subsided. That is, until last night, when, in the middle of my shift, someone slashed all 4 of the tires on my car. There are no security cameras in our parking lot and zero witnesses, but I am obviously 99% certain it was Robert who did this. This is a homophobic/transphobic hate crime, one which I am now out $500 trying to deal with. The tow truck cost me $125 and getting my tires replaced cost about $386. Because I work as a delivery driver and am scheduled to work today (the day after the incident), I didn’t really have a choice but to pay these expenses (and no, my insurance will not cover ANY of this.) Seattle rent is already ridiculously expensive so $500 is no joke to me. If you could contribute any amount of money towards helping me find relief here, I would appreciate that so much. Thank you.
So if we wanted to watch some French animation, what films would you suggest?
the Triplets of Belleville is about an elderly woman searching for her son who was kidnapped in the middle of a Tour de France race. It’s largely free of dialogue, but the sound effects and such are wonderful. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature—it lost to Finding Nemo.
A Cat in Paris is about a young girl and her cat who discover mysteries in the course of one night. It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, but it lost to Rango.
Persepolis is based on an autobiographical graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi about her early life in Iran. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, but it lost to Ratatouille.
the Illusionist is about an aging magician and an imaginative young girl who form a father/daughter relationship. It was also nominated for a Best Animation Oscar, but lost to Toy Story 3.
The Rabbi’s Cat is a story about a cat who swallows a parrot and gains the ability to speak like a human. It is set in 1920’s Algeria.
Ernest & Celestine is the adorable story about a big bear and a little mouse who forge an unlikely friendship. It was also nominated for an Oscar in Best Animated Picture, but lost to Frozen.
Kirikou and the Sorceress is a story inspired by West African folklore that tells the story of Kirikou, a boy who was born with the ability to walk and talk, who saves his people from an evil witch. The film was popular enough to spawn sequels and a stage adaptation.
A Monster in Paris is a 3D animated musical film that is reaaaaalllly loosely based on the Phantom of the Opera. It’s set in 1910 and is about, surprisingly, a monster that lives in Paris, and his love for a young singer.
The King and the Mockingbird is an 80’s film about a cruel king titled Charles V + III = VIII + VIII = XVI, who is obsessed with a young shepherdess, and whose attempts to capture the young girl are thwarted by a mockingbird whose wife the King had previously killed.
Those are probably the most famous of the feature length animated films.
But the animated short films are just as glorious. Here’s a compilation of a bunch of short films and I can link you to others as well.
Sorry for the long answer but I just really love French animation.
