Happy 72nd birthday to our beloved bassist, who's so much more special than most people believe and deserves all the love and recognition. (And privacy nowadays!!! Don't bother him!!!) 🥺🥰💖💖💖 Here's the artwork for his birthday and I loved drawing it despite it was quite troublesome to find the right balance with the greens 🤧 Once again, I made a little collection of iconic costumes and looks, even mixing some a little and adding a couple of easter eggs as well.

18.06.1975 ~ You're My Best Friend comes out as single in the UK! It's the first single by John Deacon and only his second published song, and it's dedicated to his wife Veronica 💕💕💕

I didn’t make this drawing specifically to celebrate YMBF but it was fitting to be posted today so I waited 💖 This was born as a little style exercise, with "my" John and Veronica from Down In The Dungeons, my DnD AU, as they relax under the bloomed trees 🥰 I really hope you like this!

I'd also love to make this a DTIYS if anyone wants to redraw the scene and have some fun with sunlight and flowers! Which is why I did the refs as well. Tag me if you redraw it!

"Whatever This World Can Give To Me" 💖

A wonderful commission I had the pleasure to draw for @blossom-melina-burnickel 🥺🥰 as the cover of her beautiful and heartfelt fanfic! She let me choose among her stories and this one is definitely my favourite, her writing is seriously underrated and I hope that my artwork will boost it even just a little bit 🥰💕💕💕

In October and early November 1977, John Deacon is preparing to leave on tour with Queen to the United States in support of their latest album, News of the World. He is conflicted about leaving on tour because while he loves traveling all over the world and playing for the fans, he is hesitant to leave his wife Veronica and their young son Robert on their own for six weeks because Veronica is pregnant with their second child. Veronica reassures John that she and Robert will be fine when he’s gone, like they always are, but John feels conflicted about leaving regardless.

In the artwork I thought of representing both John's daily family life that he's living in the present and the upcoming tour with the band that's already a constant in his mind, as that duality is the central theme of the fic.

Queen in Japan! 🌸

17 April 1975, Queen land in Japan for the first time for their Sheer Heart Attack tour, conquering the hearts of everyone! I know it's a big holiday for Japanese fans but I wanted to make a small contribution as well, it warms my heart to know it's so wholeheartedly celebrated in Japan 💕💕💕

"We knew there was sort of demand for us there and so we tagged it on to the end of an American tour,” explains Roger Taylor. “We had a holiday in Hawaii and then it was, sort of, logical, so we went there. We arrived at the airport and suddenly realised it was on a scale different to that which we’d imagined - there were thousands of people there, just to welcome us. Normally you just don’t get that sort of thing anywhere.”

April 30, 1985: "John arrives before other members. John travels to Kyoto with his wife Veronica." They spent a week together admiring the cherry blossoms. 🌸💕 From Japanese fans' diaries, confirmed also by the Fanclub Magazine which mentions Veronica's first visit in Japan. 💖

You know this is often a chance for me to make fluffy artworks full of cherry blossoms, but this year I dreamed of making a collab with a Japanese artist and chose the amazing june.wings , whom I'll never thank enough for accepting to make art with me! 🙏🏻💕

She told me that during their holiday John and Veronica visited the gorgeous Golden Temple -Kinkakuji - in Kyoto, and not only she's drawn that beautiful John in a kimono, but also helped me a lot with how to draw kimonos, the importance of wearing them properly, and also showed me the temple's talisman which is a little work of art by itself (and appears in the BoRhap movie!). I'm really grateful of this collaboration and of her kindness and patience in following me through all the steps. 🥰

I worked on the sketch, then she made John with watercolor so it would've blended well with my Veronica, which I also did on paper with markers and pencils. The background is all digital, I tried my best to paint it since I've never been that great with backgrounds... 👀💦

But I'm really really happy with how this came out, I feel John's clothes match very well with the nature around while Veronica's lilac and gold mirrors the pink of the cherry blossoms and the gold of Kinkakuji! 🌸💜

John Deacon meets his future wife Veronica Tetzlaff at the Maria Assumpta Teacher Training College, the same disco where a few months earlier he first met Roger and Brian to audition for Queen.

I really wanted to draw more comic pages and I thought this was the perfect occasion to try some sequential art once again after a while. Had a TON of fun drawing this! It's exaggerated, romanticised, almost anime-like, way too colorful... and I love it like this! Hope you'll like this as well! 🥰💕💜💖💕💖💜

For today's little tribute I as reference a series of photos by Michael Putland from 1973 and drawn him in various looks through the years! The hardest part has definitely been adjusting all the colors to not be eye breaking hahah damn Hot Space and it's crazy contrasts 🤣

The big party at Lambert Castle is over, and the guests retire in their room. Before the day will bring its news, the night is the time for love.

With this chapter, I decided to raise the rating of this fic to Mature, but I did it also because I had previously touched heavier themes such as fantasy violence, abuse and trauma, therefore I realized Mature would’ve been a more appropriate rating for the fic as a whole. I’m sorry it took me so long to deliver this chapter, it’s been a rough start of the year and previously I’ve been busy writing a lot of other fics. But TODAY MARKS THE 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF DOWN IN THE DUNGEONS! While the fic’s not finished yet, I would say the first act is almost ended and I really want to thank you all for going through this long journey with me! 🥺🥰💕💕💕 As usual, please leave a comment if you liked this, I always love to hear your thoughts down here and lately the fandom has been very quiet so each comment is more important than ever! 🙏
