how do conservatives think talking to children works? if a four year old came up to me and said “i’m a cat!!” i would say “really? what makes you a cat?” and they’d say some shit like “i have claws >:)” and i’d be like “oh wow, you do have claws. but wait, i thought cats had pointed ears!” and they’d say “they DO!!!” and then i’d pull up a picture of an elf and ask “is THIS a cat?” and they’d yell “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

This book is beyond incredible

This book has stuck with me more than any other that I've read recently. I've been in a major reading rut, but I'm so glad I made an exception for this one. You can feel the passion the author has for her work oozing out of every word. It's been a while since I've read it and I'm planning on revisiting it and doing a deep dive.

This is so real. I had always expected for someone to save me from the darkness, and spent so many years resenting the world for having left me so lonely. It was only fairly recently, that the realization that life was worth living slowly started to creep up on me. It finally hit me when I realized that I had been the one to save myself. These days I feel my heart become swollen with all the love I feel for both others and for myself. Love is so incredibly underrated, and I refuse to waste the rest of my life by adding more bitterness to the world. Instead, I will do my best to stay soft and kind, so I can hold onto this feeling of peace.

i am a different person than who i was last year. my hair is longer and i cry less and i am stronger. i am a different person than who i was six months ago. i am free and different and am embracing change. i am a different person than who i was a month ago. i sit in the sunlight without worry and i don’t let things stick and i look up and smile. i am a different person than who i was last week. i explore more and look at the sky and laugh more. i am a different person than who i was yesterday. i let go and breathe. i am whole.
