Abaddon/Kibre, bites & bruises
Sometimes the Warmaster and his Justaerin brawled across his private quarters like young carnivores at play, teeth and tusks and horns scratching and bruising but never enough to truly hurt.
The game ends, as it must, with Ezekyle mounting his Falkus, teeth deep in his shoulder and cock deep in his ass, each bite and bruise aching deliciously as they move together.
"Mine," says Ezekyle, and Falkus moans his agreement, every part of him marked as his Warmaster's.

Horus/Abaddon, fisting? gotta get more XVI in here.
"You've taken so much, just a little bit more -- " Horus pressed his huge knuckles against the rim of Ezekyle's hole.
Ezekyle groaned, stretched and relaxed more than he thought possible, four of Horus' fingers and the tip of his thumb spreading him wide.
One more push and they beamed and moaned in unison, Ezekyle triumphant, Horus so proud and so pleased with his son.

Mortarion/anyone (maybe Fulgrim?) breathplay
Not sure how to get Fulgrim in here, so have some Mortarion/Calas Typhon.
It was a simple response, Pavlovian -- when he removed his mask to kiss Calas, Mortarion got hard; when he put the mask back on, he went soft.
"Ride me," Mortarion told him, choking on the too-sweet air. "I can endure it."

You ever have a moment where you reconsider something you thought a lot about in the past but then sort of turned your attention away from for a while, and your new perspective just blows the whole thing open?
Me thinking about russ and magnus during ATS/PB today after years of taking a break from HH/40K lore yielded one such series of revelations.
I was thinking about Betrayer and Russ' attempt to give Angron a lesson via the Night of the Wolf. I was thinking about Prospero Burns and Russ' belief that he's had a direct line to Magnus this whole time via Kaspar. I was thinking about that 'please'. And.
I know this is pretty much canon to the text but I've never before really Considered that one of Russ' motives in keeping this guy alive and sending him out on compliances with his Legion was (Russ believed at least) letting Magnus see the SW in action and hoping that this might influence him into trying to Avoid doing anything that might cause Russ to be sent after him.
In the past I've talked a lot about the SW keeping Kaspar around to see what would happen in terms of thinking the TS were up to something or going to do something to the Legion, which is very much the assumption the Chaos entity wanted them to make, but looking back I tbh think i slept on the concept of Russ, who canonically has taken out at least one of the Lost Primarchs in an event which is prefers not to speak (or at least the codex Strongly Implies that Russ has been used against another primarch before), and who also canonically went into the Night of the Wolf fully willing to die to make his point to Angron if only Angron could understand what he was doing.
I'm sort of compelled by the concept because in a sense Russ was letting (what he thought was) Magnus take a peek behind the barbarian mask he likes to put on, to see into a more genuine heart of his legion, letting his guard down a bit by allowing this obviously-compromised spy in. Much the same way he let the mask drop when he went to try and talk some sense into Angron, bringing up philosophy and reading and ideals that Russ' ignorant-but-noble barbarian persona would never admit to being interested in let alone reading.
And both times the gambit failed, in Magnus' case because it wasn't Magnus on the other end of the line, and in Angron's case because he was too far gone to really get what Russ was illustrating for him.
The whole thing was orchestrated so well, ironically giving the "proof" that Magnus was up to something via this sleeper agent spy that the SW were toting around with them, playing on Russ being curious enough to keep this guy around and connect the dots on the (false) links between this guy and the TS. I have this headcanon that Russ and Lorgar were actually fairly close, with Russ actually talking to Lorgar about Lorgar's writings, because he didn't seem surprised that Russ had read them and had thoughts on them in Betrayer, so I actually sort of like the idea that he had a hand in setting up the fall of Prospero? I like the tragedy of the idea that he at least had some input on the idea, being familiar enough with Russ to know he'd take the bait.
Which would make that a third time Russ got genuine with someone and had it either fail or be used against him...

My sibling in Chaos, your Uralon fics are literally water to someone stranded in the desert. I've played all of RT in anticipation of a private prayer session with him, and boy was I sad when I couldn't even talk to him properly.
This galaxy needs more CSM love 🖤
Thank you so much! I'm glad to provide. RT has given me more than I expected on the Chaos front (we could actually side with heretic Astartes!) and less than I craved (we still had to act like Imperials for a long, long time). And Uralon is just. dang. private prayer session indeed. <3

Kroeger/Lucius, breathplay/choking
This is very anonymous
Lucius was fast, but Kroeger was ready for him this time, and this brawl ended with the Emperor's Children captain pinned to the floor, Kroeger's arm over his throat.
As Lucius' scarred face started to turn purple, his struggles against Kroeger became grinds, and Kroeger laughed.
"You like that, don't you?" Kroeger said, and ground back, his arm still iron over Lucius' throat.

Perturabo/Forrix, technology/machine/augmetics kink
Forrix inhaled sharply, but didn't look away from his monitor or stop typing commands, as the logos infiltrated his armor and his Primarch took control of the special systems he'd install.
It was more difficult to keep working when his catheter was replaced by a cocksleeve and a sensuous sound, when his waste disposal system transformed into a large dildo and started moving inside of him -- but Forrix prided himself on his skill and concentration.
When Perturabo glanced over at him with a rare smile, Forrix moaned and, for just a moment, let himself go.

Not gonna lie, I can work with this (but first I need to read who the fuck Doomrider is 😂)

It's such a great little detail! I don't think it ever comes up again but we KNOW. It's there. It's kinky and too intimate and so good.
I know it says "they" there but I always wonder if this is a common NL practice or if this is an instance of Talos being weird and Too Much about his slaves, as he tends to do—I lean toward that but that's because I think one of Talos' most compelling features is his absolute inability to recognize his own Very Big Feelings about anyone (see also: the entirety of his relationship to Xarl).
Also, as I think about it more, what if the blood serves a practical purpose? What if other NL can smell it, and that makes them swerve the individually valuable, "claimed" slaves when they're looking for someone to torment on the ship?
Maybe I also am not normal about this.
You know what? I think we talk too little about the fact, that the Night Lords use their blood mixed with ink to brand slaves.

I'm so happy this post is bringing people's good thoughts and good recs out! I haven't read Wolf King but clearly need to, because that's exactly the kind of crunchy character focus I love. And Chris Wraight does a lot of good, smart stuff.
Ok so 40k has more canon than anyone can possibly hope to consume all of. BUT we all wind up with our favorite bits, and the ones that say something super crucial about our blorbos, some bit of canon we cling to and that makes a huge difference to us in how we think about them. What one or two stories do that for you with your fave? I'll start:
Aurelian by Aaron Dembski-Bowden: THE crucial character study for Lorgar, more than his primarch novel or even First Heretic. Looks at his feelings in the wake of his conversion, his convictions, what he actually wants for the galaxy, and captures the key transition point right after Isstvan V where he's really internalized how brutal this conflict will have to be. ALSO one of his best 1v1 fights.
"Revelation of the Word" by David Annandale (possibly only audiobook): The canon moment when Lorgar, during the Shadow Crusade, finds out about the developing Imperial Cult—and it's not the meme take of "he got what he wanted" at all.
Now you: what are the key things you would put in someone's hands if you wanted them to understand why you love your fave?
